As Jake is being "wildly rumored" to be taking the role of Mysterio in the next Spiderman movie, there's no doubt that he and his people are using social media to nurse the rumor, by portraying him as being a man in training.

This is allegedly a recent photo of Jake bulked up and lumbering across the crosswalks of New York City late last month:

"daddy cakes"  *smirk*

And the obligatory gym picture where Jake is superimposed, I mean inserted - I mean pyramiding over the shoulders of his fellow advertising work out buds:

But it's a couple of other roles which Jake has recently been announced for which are a bit more interesting than playing a reptile-ish enemy of Spiderman.  Roles (whether he does them or not) which would be a bit more......fluid.

Worth noting is that Leonard Bernstein was a homosexual (or bisexual) making this the second LGBTQ role Jake has taken since Jack Twist in ‘Brokeback Mountain’. That’s pretty significant. I’m wondering if they will touch this. Anyway, can’t wait! #JakeGyllenhaal #LeonardBernstein

That one kind of caught our eye, right?  Now, there's this disclosure about his character in the upcoming Untitled Dan Gilroy Project™:

#JakeGyllenhaal will play one of the main characters, "Morf Vandewalt", in #VelvetBuzzsaw. That name has been confirmed via PB.
The name was also mentioned in an audition tape that was leaked by @brian_tee.

He'll play an bisexual art critic.

30 Days and 16 Years: A Pin Up History of Jake Gyllenhaal and Austin Nichols - Day 5

May 29, 2010.  Jake and Austin had not been seen together since the bike riding photo op in April of 2009.  Instead, Jake had stepped out for repeated photo ops with beard Reese Witherspoon.

Prince of Persia opened this last weekend of May 2010 (Memorial Day weekend) and the 29th was Saturday.  An embargo time period seemed to have been passed and the first chance he had, Jake stepped out with Austin, although Sophia Bush needed to be present.  Pausing at the door, long enough to capture both of them in the same picture:

And the slightest hint of a smile on Jake's face, the little scamp!

He knew full well what he was doing.  This was Jake saying "I've done what was asked of me and I worked my ass off for promo, but now I get to step out with my guy."

Motive No. 2 behind the photo op and likely really number 1, but still we see it as a two-for-one!  As Narnia had pointed out in the 30th day of Narnia Dispatches: The Case of Jake and Austin Photo Ops and the Stork - Day 30 , there seems to have been a direct correlation with these two men stepping out together for the camera and the birth of a Gyllenichols.  And in this case, 2010 was the year that Baby #4 was born in August and discussed in Day 17 of 30 Days .  Yes indeed, a two-fer!

An aside:
In significant photo ops such as this one (because of the timing), there are other telltale notes of importance:

1) the wording of the Just Jared post. Even though it was supposed to be Austin 'dating' Sophia at the time and allegedly the 'couple', note the title did not read "Jake Hits the Gym with Austin Nichols and Sophia Bush".  Wording is very revealing if you're paying attention; this was Jake telling everyone what was what and who was who.

2)  There is also a bit of signalling going on with the inclusion of this shot.  In the window reflection, it's apparent that Austin is riding shotgun besides Jake with Sophia relegated to the back.

And the Gold Snorkel Goes to....Jake

Well, amazing how a few speculative comments can prompt reaction on the social media front with Jake and Austin.   While Austin and his Beard Chlo Bennet put on their Esther Williams puppet show yesterday afternoon, his better half Jake remained hidden from public view with the word being that he's been in London for awhile filming.  Or has he?  From an LA-area based tweeter, came this sighting on the 11th, quite early in the morning:

Pretty sure Jake Gyllenhaal was at the gym today.

With Mr. @Collider-Scope guy copping out on providing any real-time proof that he was with Jake in London on the 10th, well, we can only take a legitimate look-see at Andrew Mitchell's tweet and wonder if indeed Jake has been maintaining those "bulging biceps" all this time in LA, away from social media view.

Oh, and as for Austin and his swim-mate's video demonstration yesterday afternoon, could be they were coerced into meeting up impromptu-like.   Without a doubt, they came up for air first, while Jake remains under the lily pads, so to speak.
