The Case of Jake and Austin Photo Ops and the Stork - Day 30

Thirty Days of Toothy Tile, Grey Goose and the Baby Tiles

Day 30

As the medieval proverb reminds us, "All good things must come to an end."  And, the thirtieth day of our celebration of Toothy, Grey Goose and BTs is no exception to the simplicity of this inevitable truth. Choosing what material to showcase throughout the month of April was a labor of love, although the task often proved challenging since these two smitten kittens have supplied us with an embarrassment of riches over the last 15 years.

As may be recalled, we started this journey with the most popular Blind Item of all time, the romantic debut of a closeted Hollywood actor introduced by way of a gossipy, but clue-driven news story entitled, "One Adorable Blind Vice" back in March 2005. So it is only fitting that we conclude this journey with probably one of the most clever hot leads Ted Casablanca set forth as part of his Morning Mail, "Dear Ted" letters; those ongoing and revealing hints that Toothy and Goose were not just hubbies, but a real family unit that did not stop with one Baby Tile, but were instead spawning a growing brood behind the scenes.

The most easily identifiable method he used to communicate the controversial concept of multiple babies was by discreetly producing fan letters on three separate occasions that continued to ask if Baby Tile was human. At one point, a perceptive reader even asked why was Ted posting and answering essentially the same humdrum question three times over a two year period. That, of course was the compelling question to ask because Ted Casablanca had a way with words like no other.  Given the man's undeniable prowess with the English language, there is a high probability that his intentional "is baby tile human" repetition had nothing to do with a memory lapse and everything to do with adding another missing piece to the Family Tile puzzle.

Dear Ted:
Is Baby Tile human or animal?

Dear Little of Both
:
As human as something can be in this town.

Dear Ted:
Is Baby Tile human, feline, canine or equine?

Dear Smarty Pants:
Come to think of it, I didn't say kitty, puppy or pony—did I?

(Baby Tile #2/3 is human and was believed to have been born in December, 2008).  This birth was thought to be twins.

Dear Ted:
Is Baby Tile a human baby, or could it be a pet that the Tiles' adopted and share?
—CF

Dear Baby Onboard:
How disappointing would that be! Nope, while T2 loves his four-legged friend, Baby Tile is as human as they come.

(Baby Tile #4 is human and was believed to have been born in the first week of August, 2010)

In addition to the “Baby Tile is human” meme, Ted also had other smirk- producing ways of sledge hammering home the notion of multiple Tile bambinos over the years. One observable pattern was how he used January as the kick off month for these crafty tipoffs. That is, at least, up until little old moi pointed out this clue posting pattern on OMG. Having someone figure out what he was doing to clue people into Jake and Austin's continuing "dirty little secret" of a growing family prompted Ted to change it up the following year, even using a different month to announce the new bundle of joy by specifically publishing his letter on November 28, 2011, the day Maggie Gyllenhaal’s own pregnancy story hit the headlines.

This time the common stork arrival language was coupled with a congratulatory “Welcome Babe” letter as well as an unmistakable "changing diapers" reference. Being that BT1 was already four years old by this point, the diaper reference clearly hinted at a welcomed newborn, not a preschooler.

“WELCOME BABE” Dear Ted Letter - November 28, 2011

Mon., Nov. 28, 2011

Dear Ted:
I'm a newbie to the A.T. and greatly enjoyed reading about Toothy Tile's antics. It seems he's been quite secretive lately, is this due to daddy duty?
—Z

Dear Parental Control:
Welcome, babe. As for Mr. Tile, his papa patrol may have something to do with his flying under the radar lately, but there's more to the picture than just that. He's always been able to manage Vicing and changin' diapers in the past.

Now let's go one step further to the most persuasive evidence of all.  If Ted Casablanca had been the only one who provided clues that lead to the high plausibility of multiple Tiles existing, the secondhand confirmation might not have been nearly as convincing. But, let's consider how much more real this proposition would be if our own papa-producing protagonists, Jake Gyllenhaal and Austin Nichols, also jointly participated in their own version of proud parental announcements? That's right, Jake and Austin themselves let the world know every single time the surrogacy stork arrived. The verification was subtle, but consistent with Ted's own chronology. Public pictures of the happy pappies posted within a six month span of each new baby.  Sometimes the couply photos appeared before the birth. Sometimes afterwards. Nevertheless, regardless of circumstance or contract restrictions, which sometimes caused a beard, bro pals, or some other, never to be seen again miscellaneous female to be included in the pap walk, the pattern was never broken.

Perhaps Ted Casablanca summed it up best on December 29, 2011 with an end of the year post that named Jake Gyllenhaal as one of the 99 reasons we love Hollywood. Because despite the fame, the fancy clothes, and the glamorous lifestyles, "it's the little things in life" that make the difference.  Right, Jake?

Ha! And I was just re-reading the post again and noticed Ted replying to the letter from September2010:

Dear Baby Onboard

That was written after Leadville and he was saying there was a baby on board.

A new baby. New addition onto the Ship TTandGG.

Thanks to everyone for checking out this 30 Days of Toothy, Grey Goose and the Baby Tiles.

All I can say is....

NEVER AGAIN! Never again!

LOL. Nah, lol. Someone told me "Well, I wondered what you were thinking doing 30 Days during April when you were coming to New York City". I know, I know! LOL. So it was a hairbrained idea.

It was fun, but yeah, a lot of time went into it. Some posts took longer than others. What always ended up taking so long was finding the pictures, finding emails, etc. And I always come away thinking however on earth did Special K and Wicked do it, and later on, just SpecialK do it for so many years. It is astounding and my hat's off to her.

It was kind of a killer to not be able to real-time post about all of the shenanigans going on with Jared and Jensen and all the Pink Hearts nonsense. But in a way, it was for the best, because this whole thing is still kind of playing out and so it has been beneficial in that way.

That is one topic Narnia will post about, plus we do want to do a small post on Mr. Ryan Reynolds and the short memories of many with regard to his past.

Aaaand there's that whole thing about a bunch of us going to New York City and catching Jake's play.

So just some of the stuff we'll be putting up in the near future. After a brief rest.

LOL. I missed my simple twitter action.

Wanted to add another observation I noticed after doing some of these posts and that was I think from the medical/doctor building post and the picture of Jake visiting the medical building in Beverly Hills, dated Nov. 11, 2015.

Jake in the Bulls cap

And Jake is wearing the Bulls cap, right? That was a shoutout to Austin because that is Austin's beard's turf, Austin has been to Chicago now for TWD cons, Comic cons, and to do photo ops with the beard and her family. Supposedly they went to a Bulls game at one point.

Jake has been to Nets games and Lakers games, not Chicago Bulls games. He went to an NBA post-season game in Cleveland. NOT a Chicago Bulls game. Red Sox games, Steelers games. Not Chicago Bulls games.

But there Jake is at the medical building in November of 2015, just prior to Margie Nicholson's FB Congras comment congratulating on the newest and latest addition and what was he wearing?

A Chicago Bulls cap. That was a shoutout to his guy and their newest upcoming addition if I ever saw one.

And at the time, I saw the cap and knew what it was. But we didn't know about the upcoming baby. Now I see what he was doing. It was a double-shoutout. Pretty damned cool.

That's a good point about the Chicago Bulls cap. Jake can be a minx when he wants to be.

By the way, readers may have noticed another pattern in the birthing months of these kids. The one exception being August, 2010, a late summer stork arrival. The reason for this anomaly had to do with Jake's Prince of Persia schedule. Some may recall that PoP was supposed to be released in July, 2009, but for a variety of reasons, including a writers' strike, the movie ended up being delayed for nearly a year, to May 28, 2010. Later that year, Love and Other Drugs was set to be released in November and Jake was contractually tied up with that whole Taylor Swift farce the last quarter of the year as well. No time for another addition to the family so August became the go-to month that year.

One brief comment about the number of Baby Tiles. It may be that Jake and Austin have six children, instead of seven. The speculation is dependent upon whether or not the guys had twins in 2008. As the post points out, the possibility of twins is based on Ted's own wording ("two-timing") and his use of the plural in his "Pigs in a Blanket" reference. The two photos Austin and Jake made pubic within a five week span is another clue. Add in the known factor that 33% of surrogate births are multiple and the possibility of one of those Gyllenichols offspring being twins increases considerably.

The late fall/winter months make it easier for these guys to have bonding time and down time with the newborn additions with Thanksgiving / Christmas / Hanukkah / New Year's holidays. They can disappear and the fans don't question why they're not seeing their faves as much because fans as well tend to not post or be active online near as much.

This also applies to Jared and Jensen, both of whom have had children born during the late holiday months. The latest of the Padackles children, Odette, was born in the late winter/early spring (No, I don't believe for a minute she was born when the formal announcement says she was) and now that it's the close of the season, these guys are not filming. They do have a con in Australia coming up the weekend of May 6-8, so that is coming up real quick. There will also be Jus en Bello later in the month.

Maybe somewhere along the way, the J's can meet up with another pair and swap Noah's Ark stories. ;-)
