😂 The little baby penguin just cracks me up.
Well, depending on who you follow, the summer season can sometimes mean a dearth of content.
In the case of Jake and Austin, they aren't seen much at all, but it's for a nice reason! They are living their lives with their kiddos in what seems to have become the annual Summer of Gyllynichols.
That is, until the arrival of August, the month of Baby Tile Leadville's birthday and anniversary of Jake & Austin's romantic celebration of his birth under the guise of attending the Leadville race in 2010. When August comes, we can usually expect to be pleasantly surprised by one or both men poking their heads out to say, "See, I'm not with Jake and the kids!" or in Jake's case, "See, I'm not with Austin and the kids!" And "See, there's no Baby Tile Leadville!"
This year, we were blessed with appearances by both.
Austin let us know that he was asked to direct Episode 2 of season 3 of Jared's show, Walker. His Instagram account posted several stories; this one was posted on Monday, August 8. Here's the mad scientist, lol - er, I mean Austin:
Hard to say when exactly the episode was truly filmed as there was an awful lot of hinky announcements and smoke & mirrors surrounding Walker's filming status. And surprisingly, this time around, there was not any play-by-play social media ballyhoo indicating that they were at any time, filming. Since the tumblr/twitter "word" was that the show was filming three (3) episodes at once, well, it would be understandable that there was no time for anyone to be on their phones. Noses were constantly to the grindstone in order to get all this delayed filming caught up and completed!
Following Austin's social media appearance, his Main Squeeze was photo-shopped, I mean "seen" with his beard, allegedly in New York City back on August 2nd. Here's the lovely "couple".
Is there even anything in that Walgreens bag? |
And the reason we're doubting this outing is because unless Jake has come up with a new way to make the face mask an intravenous feed, uh... the left side of the string disappears into his ear lobe, or what is supposed to be. In fact, the ear lobe seems to have practically disappeared! Crazy!
😁 We're also looking for his left eye as well.
And there's a point to be made for the line of skin-tone merger that you can see running down the middle of the neck, in the left photo, it's at more of an angle. While to the right, the line is straight up and down. A total difference in skin tone and no, the discrepancy is not caused by "shadows".
Come on, Visuals Effects Team! Or, is the crew called the Image Manipulation Unit? Either way, step it up, please. Dropping the ball like that is unprofessional. 😉 It is interesting to note the fish on the ball cap - a leftover souvenir from last year's family Mammoth Springs summer vacay, perhaps???
NONE-theless, it was nice to see both men make their annual appearance just around Baby Tile Leadville's birthday. A day that Narnia is getting a strong feeling might be able to be nailed down to August 8, as has been speculated before. Let's see, that would mean Baby Tile Leadville turned twelve (12) years old this year. We wonder if Busy Philipps will be baking another one of those baby monkey birthday cakes to post to her Instagram account?
Goodness gracious, Jake and Austin have another kiddo approaching teen-hood, can you believe that? Driving permits, teen idol wall posters, and Claire's Boutique shopping are getting to be closer to the future than Fisher Price is in the present, for the Gyllynichols household, aren't they? 😊
A trip back through memory lane: Remember back in 2013 when Austin was spotted at a Ralph's Grocery store and a friend of his wondered if the "adorable kid" he was with, was his son? Perhaps the tot was Baby Tile Leadville, who would've just turned three years old at that time.
He must have looked quite similar to Austin, huh? In any event, it's always bittersweet to remember the early days. Snips and snails and puppy dog tails. *Sniff* They just grow up so fast.

• Oh look, yet another convention cancellation.
Less than two weeks before the convention. Once again, it was Jared. And look at the use of the word "gutted" by the Jib account, intended to be a direct reference to Jared's tweet over the alleged "prequel-gate" nonsense. A big clue that his cancellation was scripted to happen.
There was some blah-blah nonsense about film delays being caused by COVID (how many positive outbreaks has that set had, anyway?), filming is running behind, and so forth and so on. Supposedly filming three episodes at once, boy, the Walker set was just in a frenzy of filming and executive producer Jared couldn't take a few days off for a commitment that is made annually? Not only that, but for a commitment where fans saw this convention previously cancelled several times due to what? Due to COVID restrictions and risk.
And of course, there was the fan police to scold the fan who was understandably upset over the cancellation.
According to a good handful of employees, ahem, I mean fans, Jared couldn't leave filming due to COVID-caused delays, and the show had to film three (3) episodes at once.
Three (3) episodes at once!
Who started this COVID reason anyway? Why do these three guys (Jared, Jensen & Collins) always have flaky multi-stories floating around? The more confusion, the harder it is to determine the truth, perhaps? Oh look, Jared "clarified" things during one of his Zoom call-in's at JIB.
The hospital could only be reserved for three days (I thought it was abandoned? lol) and those three days fell all around and over JibCon12. Darn the luck. So much for Jared Padalecki being an Executive Producer in charge of schedules.
Pardon Narnia if we raise our eyebrows yet again with this crew. And we can't help but smirk at this tweet:
😬
We don't have all day to work with all of these "leads". Perhaps as time goes on, it might become more clear what road Jared and Jensen are on as far as these too-frequent cancellations are concerned, but at this point, they are happening too often with "filming" and "scheduling conflicts" given as reasons. Their track record for stunt-related convention cancellations speaks for itself.
Filming three episodes at once, abandoned hospital limited for filming...yet somehow, Jared managed to work in a couple of Zoom call appearances to the Jib convention panel stages. One of the calls was even in the middle of his day - around 11 a.m. in the morning. Right smack dab in the middle of the day. In one video, he appeared during Collins' panel on Saturday (gee, that makes so much sense, doesn't it, with Collins? *eyeroll*) and in the other, on Sunday with guest Adam Rose (who appeared on Supernatural twice) and Ruth Connell.
So, the show runner(s) of JibCon could have worked out at least on one of the days to give the fans a Jared appearance on one of co-lead Jensen's panels, but apparently no can do! Nope! Stands out like a sore thumb, doesn't it?
Seems to us at Narnia that an old wooden roller-coaster is more stable than these stories from Jared, Jensen, Collins, and Co.
• All of this being said, this particular question and answer posed to/answered by Jared and Jensen during their recent Washington D.C. Convention was very interesting, if you are paying attention. Because both of their answers for the other partner was a direct contrast to their public images when asked if they could write a role for the other, what would the role be? (the question/answer starts at 15:30 in this You Tube video)

See what they did? Jensen, who their team portrays as anything but a father figure, desired by all, working all the time, away from his children - Jared would like people to see him portray a dad. And Jared, who their team portrays as this highly volatile, fragile, "big dumb friend" of Jensen's - Jensen would like people to see him as intellectually driven. I do think fans have been very gullible to fall into these PR team traps. Although both men have gleefully at times, played right into those roles, so...which comes first, the chicken or the egg? It's really a bad carnival ride that doesn't ever stop.
• And one more note to end on, back to our other previously mentioned couple. One, an old/unseen photo of Austin popped up. On Tumblr, of all places.
And with him in the middle is Wimbledon co-star Paul Bettany and on the left is another former co-star from the same movie, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. You always wonder who the account holder really is when you see a never-before-seen photo like this because it's a personal one. If you notice in the photo, there is a partial glimpse above of other photos, they look like they could be of Austin as well. Interesting, interesting...
And his other half, Mr. Jakers, is letting everyone under the sun know that filming has allegedly begun on his latest film, the remake of Roadhouse.
Filming has begun! Day One! Why was it trumpeted so? 😉
Is that a current pic of Jake? We here at Narnia are just wondering. 😉 That's his director Doug Liman he's posing with. What's more interesting, is where they're supposed to be filming - the Dominican Republic. For any longtime Jaustinites, that small country rings a bell because it is where the uber private Tortuga Bay Resort is located and where Jake & Austin are believed to have spent time together.
The Dominican Republic is also the only place where the stone larimar is found. Like the larimar stone in Austin's ring, dubbed "Big Blue" by the Grand Poobah, Special K, herself.
Could there be some reminiscing and re-visiting going on in addition to some filming, eh???
Hopefully, they're not having a Lost Daughter re-enactment, but rather, one of these...

That Management thought they could dupe the fans (which I guess it did help with those who were in attendance) into rolling over and accepting Jared's last minute cancellation with two Zoom call appearances, that they would replace someone who had spent money for a photo op with him.....well....
It kills me to see some of these fans just accept what these guys do. All of the wise, real fans of J2? They're long gone. They saw. That's why they're gone.
The fans who saw that Jake and Austin were going to disappear and that the Sushi Lunch was goodbye? They're all gone. They saw.
M and M and I see, but we're not gone. Still here.
Still here as far as J2 are concerned, as unsavory and abusive as their treatment of their fans is going.
I pointed out the Question/Ask segment about the writing of a role because it was a way for them to "speak out" a bit if one is paying attention. But that is just so paltry compared to all they've been doing.
M&M and I have been talking at length about this whole situation and more than once, it has come up that all these two guys had to do was just quietly take their separate filming paths, different set of co-stars and friends. That's all they had to do! Quietly go their separate ways.
But oh no. No.
And then M&M explains to me that the thing is, they wanted that fan base to support their next projects. And that make sense to me.
So they have hung onto them, but at the same time, they're just gaslighting the hell out of them.
I say 'wise, real fans" of J2 because there are still plenty of interns out there in the fandom.
Another example I could have included in the post was the whole Patrick Kane rape accusation, which seemed to have kind of fallen apart.
Watch for these big, blow-up incidents that kind of....you know....disappear into the mist. They're a hot topic for awhile and then while you're not paying attention and on to the next hot trending topic, the accused has gone underground and disappeared. And observers don't even realize that hey, where was the hearing? What happened to the charges?
Or else the charges are just quietly "dropped".
The Will Smith/Chris Rock "assault" was designed so that Will Smith could say "my wife" and have that go on repeat over and over and over. Not sure why those two felt they needed the heavy-handed het cred, but I have no doubt that's what that whole thing was for. Meanwhile, Will Smith went away, underground, and he'll re-emerge at some point. There'll probably be more People covers and talk show appearances so he can apologize a hundred times and get the public's forgiveness.
It was somewhat convincing to say the least, but the thing is, he didn't even punch Rock, he slapped him. A slap's not going to injure you like a punch would have. I think that's why it was a slap and not a punch, because the whole thing was staged.
