Most closeted celebrities beard the "old fashioned" way - photo ops consisting of a stroll down a city sidewalk, ocean frolicking in St Bart's, an Instagram selfie, etc. And then for the one who may not want to heavy duty in that way for the paparazzi cameras, there can be another way - by letting your written song lyrics do all your love professing and yearning with numerous mentions of the opposite gender pronouns.
That's how a former television show contest winner likes to do it. Lie low, post some Instagrams and Snaps which rarely include the "couple" in the same frame, and while spending a lot of time on the road, write and sing lyrics which pine away for "her" and "she".
And just before a long tour, release a song about an undying love that will remain despite his absence.
Niiiiicely done. And very strategic. Kinda sorta Taylor Swift - Fisher Price style.

Well, you know what they say about Kansas weather.
Well, the same can be said for something as simple as Jake Gyllenhaal being confirmed for a movie role or not.
This story really started just barely over a year ago. Endeavor (formerly WME)-represented actor Tom Holland set the table for the future by being quoted in The Hollywood Reporter:
• "I really am having the time of my life. But as far as my future goes, I want to stretch myself as an actor in a way that Jake Gyllenhaal, Leo DiCaprio, and Meryl Streep do." - Endeavor represented actor Tom Holland in THR - June 05, 2017
• May 21, 2018 - the first twitter releases state that Jake is to star as the villain in the next Spiderman film. This was one of the very first accounts to release the news, a twitter account based out of Ghana.
The Hollywood Reporter's tweet stated that Jake was "getting ready to suit up", yet when you opened up the accompanying story, you were greeted with the words "is in talks to play". Not exactly the same thing, THR. • With the announced/semi-confirmed rumor barely breathing oxygen on the internet, there was definite haziness and unclarity.
The original article lists the @TheSun as the source of the Jake Gyllenhaal/Mysterio news but there’s no actual article from the Sun. The Sun hasn’t reported anything. Plus, ya know, it’s the Sun... so take all this news with a big grain of salt, it’s not exactly @THR or @Varietypic.twitter.com/Fw8codzUhu
• Finally, on June 24, Tom Holland "leaks" the name of the upcoming Spidey sequel. "Far From Home". Word comes that The Hollywood Reporter has "confirmed" that Jake is "confirmed" for the role of Mysterio, albeit via other twitter accounts and not from THR themselves.
So, if you look within the article, embedded in one of the small print paragraphs (the fifth paragraph to be exact) are the casual words "Spiderman: Far From Homealso stars Jake Gyllenhaal as the classic Spider-man villain Mysterio". Interestingly enough, THR never tweeted this official confirmation that Jake was a "go", even though they don't hesitate to be the official tweet of "in talks". • On the 24th at 15:35, exactly one minute after Narnia Dispatches released its post which contained a mention about Jake not being officially confirmed yet for the Mysterio role, this tweet was released:
Confirmed! This time, the official Twitter word comes from a lesser known site (wegotthiscovered.com) which references The Hollywood Reporter as the source of the confirmation. • The next about-face comes 24 hours later, interestingly enough after there were a few comments made on Narnia about Jake and Austin having been staying across the pond since the spring and would be there in time for the beginning of Far From Home filming which is supposed to start after the 4th of July holiday, a SAG holiday. A few highlights: *During a recent interview*...*Kevin Feige was asked about Jake Gyllenhaal being in the sequel*
*Feige clarified that his casting has not yet been confirmed.*
And in a quick U-turn of wishy-washy-ness that makes Charlie Brown look like the king of commitment, the article paraphrases Feige's statement:
*Though, that doesn't mean he won't be in the movie, just that Marvel Studios hasn't confirmed it yet, or perhaps that Gyllenhaal hasn't signed on the dotted line.*
*The movie is set to begin filming next month, so if they haven't already locked Jake Gyllenhaal down, they need to get that done or find someone else in a hurry*. Considering the movie is supposed to start filming early next month, that sounds like a decent plan. • Tuesday, 06 26 18's update?
According to Kevin Feige on the what, when, where on the film: "Well, I mean, sure, let the speculation begin. That's always fun." Translation: We're going to keep you hanging even though we know everything, including whether or not Jake is "set". • Wednesday, 06 27 18 - Jake is still "in talks" to play Mysterio. But hey, Sony has confirmed that the title of the film is to be Spiderman: Far From Home . • Thursday, 06 28 18 - No Change. • Friday, 06 29 18 -No Change.
• Sunday, 07 01 18 -No change. Just waiting. via GIPHY • Monday, 07 02 18 - Apparently, filming has started but still no official word of confirmation on Jake's contractual status.
• Tuesday, 07 03 18 - lots of confirmation assumptions, but no actual confirmation • Wednesday, 07 04 18 - SAG Holiday...... • Thursday, 07 05 18 - no change! • Friday, 07 06 18 - Feige can confirm Benedict will not be in Far From Home.
We're still not 100% sure that Jake Gyllenhaal will play the character (it's probably a done deal, but Feige is playing coy), but we do know that Mysterio will be the main antagonist of Far From Home. - comicbookmovie.com
• Monday, 07 09 18 - There are more tweets which speak in such an affirmative tone and yet there's still....."rumored" #eyeroll [Narnia may have to extend this post into a Part 2.]
• Tuesday, 07 10 18 -Well, I guess Jake didn't like being nicknamed "Richard Simmons". LOL! He appeared on Instagram in a picture with legendary composer, Burt Bacharach, taken at the River Cafe in London. Baby steps, I reckon!
• Thursday, 07 12 18 - It seems to be "official" now. Jake is in London. Still no confirmation of his status as Mysterio. But here he is dining al fresco in a picture which seems to be mysteriously sourced by a "fan" account, the jakebullshittingovereverybody. For once, the watermark seems to be true. And somehow, the author seems to know that is a member of Jake's "team", even from behind! And #iphonephotography? How do they know all of this this? Welllllll....it's been obvious for quite awhile. We have no idea who took this photo.
• Friday, 07 20 18 - Well, still no confirmation, no sightings, but we DO have a "new" distraction, I mean non-story about Leo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt being offered the lead roles in Brokeback before Jake and Heath. #eyeroll
• Tuesday, 07 24 18 - In the interest of conserving space on the post, Narnia is updating every few days. At this rate, we could be revealing an official "confirmation" from the red carpet at the premiere of Far From Home! But in the meantime, here's Tom Holland shouting out again to Jake and thus, perhaps another hint of proximity to Jake? Who knows, lol...
• July 26, 2018 - While there still is not an "official" confirmation, we have this observant tweet which draws attention to a deleted Instagram post, which hash tags Jake and Mysterio.

The above photo is Jake and the enabling make up artist Donald Mowat, who has let Jake use his instagram to try and account for his whereabouts. The photo of the two appeared first on Mowat's instagram, but disappeared mysteriously immediately following @goosestile pointing out how un-bulked-up Jake looked, not to mention how they were dressed for 50 degrees instead of 70's. The photo was pulled from his twitter feed because it was already starting to robot, but was replaced with a different irrelevant robot tweet, one which was actually tweeted yesterday, 7/28, but suddenly began stuffing his twitter search around 2:30 today.
This was followed by a return of the Mowat/Jake photo under a new narrative that Jake was spotted near the Marvel Spidey film set, whereas when Mowat had tweeted it, they were placing themselves at Picadilly. *eyeroll*
• 08-03-18 Well, here we are in August now and still looking for an "official" confirmation. But here's Jake allegedly today, going shopping in London, aka "fueling rumors" that he's in town filming Far From Home.

LOL. Good Sunday Greetings from Narnia Dispatches! Several little tidbits to bring up and news nuggets that may have been missed over the past week or so.
• First of all, after the news yesterday of Tom Holland seeming to make a statement about the title of the next Spiderman movie which Jake Gyllenhaal has been widely rumored to be playing the villainous role of Mysterio, it would seem that Jake's social media search has since erupted with a fleet of carts heading off before the horses. It's like a backwards Ben Hur. Because why?

Thank you. According to the press, Jake is still "in talks". With filming of the Officially Untitled Spiderman Sequel™ set to begin in July, it looks like the announcement of Jake to be "confirmed" instead of "rumored" could go into the eleventh hour.
• At a fundraiser called Paws 4 AKF (Always Keep Fighting), the mayor of Austin, Steven Adler, proclaimed yesterday, June 23, 2018 as "Supernatural Day", honoring Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles as the longtime stars of the show and congratulating them on their 14th filming season.
Just as important however, was the emphasis on how Jared and Jensen "will always come home to Austin". As the Austin, TX "residency" was really the key to the mayoral acknowledgement, of course the beards were on full display and it was an opportune time to reinforce the 'marriages', and peddle the Austin businesses and the beards. Still, all of these before-mentioned exist because of these two men. Jared and Jensen, the original, longtime stars of the show, are the heartbeat and the pulse, no matter how many others try to horn in.
I do think the guys had to cave this summer and commit time to the Austin, TX narrative. It's a pivotal time for them as it seems they are gradually transitioning and preparing for life after the show. Now is the time to sell the brewery, what must be a substantial financial investment and they cannot do that tucked somewhere far away for a month or so. Both men seem to be saddled with beards who are enjoying a bit too much of their time in the spotlight as "wives" to men such as Jared and Jensen. And their forgetfulness over why they are needed in the first place rears its head in voyeuristic moments like this one:

• And a call-out moment to the paps hanging out at Bloomingdale stores, invading celebrities' privacy while they shop the racks. Now some of us know to be on our guard while at Bloomingdales. ;-) Here's Josh Duhamel with his post-Fergie accompaniment.
Note a couple of frequently used, key phrases found in the JJ post: "have been quietly dating" and "spotted a few times on date nights". I guess it can't get much quieter than a Bloomingdale's outing, except for those darn paps! Or was that security camera footage? ;-)
Nice to see Josh Duhamel adopting some of Jake's old homecoming escort elbow-offered courtesies.
• We had some Payno-Tommo twitter convo yesterday which was fun to see:
Lovely to see, wasn't it? And wonderful to see Louis on Twitter, having fun with the World Cup and replying to some fans as well. No doubt part of what holds all of One Direction's fans waiting patiently for their return is their interaction with the fandom.
• And then this set of pictures of Mr. Marcus Mumford couldn't help but catch Narnia's eye because of the presence of the boot (bringing back some still "traumatic" memories for this writer! lol). What in the heck happened to cause the boot?
And then the following day, the boot was gone as Marcus allegedly attended the wedding of Game of Throne co-stars Kit Harington and Rose Leslie. Hopefully Marcus put the boot back on soon after the wedding - never good to ditch a healing aid for too long.
• And finally, a pictorial treat for those interested in what Austin Nichols is up to these days. While perusing the internet yesterday, I came upon this little gem. It was a throwback photo Instagram'ed by an Austin bud, @vinnawinna aka Vincent Perini. Vincent Perini is a band member of a group called Cologne, with Dan Keyes, also a friend of our own Austy. Imagine that! What a small, small, small, small, tight world it is when it comes to our boys Austin and Jake, imagine. that. ;-)
Check it out!! First the Instagram version so you can see some of the comments, amongst them one by none other than Austin himself and also Dan Keyes. Surprisingly missing was a comment by a member of this posse, Mr. Matt Frost. Hmmmm...
And now tiara'd Austin and vinnawinna in amplified wonder. Wasn't Austin just a cutie back in the day? No wonder Jake fell hook, line and sinker. Thank you, Mr. Vincent, for sharing this photo. Let's blow it up a bit.
Awwww, baby-faced Austin. Doesn't get any better than this! It looks like Austin and Vincent go pretty far back, doesn't it? And this was from 2001, so it was B.J. - before Jake. • And speaking of going pretty far back, supposedly Jake was at the NYC premiere of a shortie called Boomerang, by an old familiar name, Matthew Frost. Remember him?
Jake looking a bit more youthful here, no doubt because he is clean shaven and a very nice picture of Matt. These two go very far back as Matt was Jake's personal assistant through four movies: Bubble Boy, Donnie Darko, The Day After Tomorrow and Moonlight Mile. So, you know and I know that Matt must know quite a bit about Jake. [If you know what I mean]. And Austin as well, because there has been a history of social media interaction and photos of Matt with Austin too. There were a few more photos from this screening event which can be found on various Instagram sites, here is one more which includes a woman called Anna Gray, who is supposed to be Matt's "girlfriend". For any long timers, do you feel like you're in a twilight zone anymore with Jake's old posse? First Chris Fischer, now Matt Frost, I'm just sayin'.....lol. It's a new, new world, in other words. ;-)
Miraculously, youthful looking Jake, isn't he? And there were plenty of "spontaneous, out of the blue" similar fan observations on how youthful Jake looked, on both Instagram and Twitter, I'd like to point out. Preemptively stricken is a phrase that comes to mind, I would say. Regardless, nice to see Jake with Matt, fountain of youth and all.
lol. • And finally, I conclude with a statement of sorts. The recently released pictures of Jake and Matt have opened up a sort of Pandora's box of revelations for M&M and myself. Enlightenment and realization on how intertwined and involved this network of friends is, consisting of several previously mentioned hounds, I mean er - buds, of Jake and Austin. There is a lot of history and it is obvious, a lot of support. And while the first instinct was to do some calling out on the exclusion and distraction, there was a misunderstanding on my part on who was indeed "out". So, for now, we are going to leave some things on the back burner as we wait to see what the future holds for the supporting closeting network. Indeed, it is apparent that Jake and Austin's secrets are such that their trusted network is shrinking. It's so small now, that they have increasingly relied on close family and old friends to help out to cover for a few whereabouts and behind the scenes reality. I think Jensen and Jared are finding that when you have a family of children involved, it's not so simple any more. Well, that's all for now! And although Jake's IMDb still is not updated, it would appear that miraculously at this very minute, Marvel has JUST NOW announced that Jake is confirmed for the Spiderman movie. So it becomes clear that Jake was never going to do Rio and the gushing comment from Tom Holland talking about Jake being someone he wanted to stretch himself after (er - or something to that effect) was a set up.
So this London filming of Spiderman "Far From Home" will enable Jake and Austin to remain across the pond and no one else will have known any different.
