From Our Bleacher Seats Part 2: It's Another Summer of Jake Gyllenhaal and Austin Nichols - circa 2022

 Coming through!!

Hahaha, that's Jake taking the wheel of the family RV as the Gyllynichols started off on their annual summer vacay, whatever country(ies) that may be in this 2022. 😄 😉 ⛺

It's that time of year again.  It's possible the Gyllynichols take a couple of vacays now in the summer season, who knows?  But you can bet there's some ocean, lake or mountain action and with all of their kiddos at that backseat-squabbling age, a lot of chaotic bickering is going on,

Gotta love it.  😉   While they're jet skiing or walking a boardwalk somewhere, we at Narnia thought we'd get out the throwback machine and catch up on what those two fellas have been doing since last we left.  Lots to catch up on, actually.

As mentioned in a previous post, Jake has invested in Just Egg (a product of the company Eat Just), a plant-based egg product.  It comes in a carton, in liquid form and you can bake with it.   3 tablespoons is the equivalent to one large egg. I found an interesting article on Just Egg, which discusses the ingredients, the pros and cons versus a real egg.   I don't have any issues at all with plant-based eggs; they look like scrambled eggs!  lol.  One word of caution that I have seen is the carton has a shelf life of four days, so either go on a baking spree or have a breakfast party so you can use the bottle up before the contents expire.  In the case of the Gyllynichols, Jake won't have any problem using up a carton in one meal.  😉  (Maybe Austin might want to pass along a complimentary carton to the Padackles Crew because they have just about as big of a crowd around their dinner table. 😏 ) Anyway, here he is scrambling and eating his eggs and we wish him lots of success with the investment.

With Jake's new sponsorship with Prada, that means another interview and in this one, we get more Big Sis chatter and Gyllenholland mentions.  Another day, another dollar.  So we are to believe that Magster is the inspiration for his latest trend of pink, pajama lounge pants, and bold colors.

Really, the pointed finger can be directly aimed at his stylist Michael Fisher, who appears to have horrendous taste, but what do I know?  I'm from the Kansas 'burbs!  😳  There's no problem at all with evolving with current trends, but I don't know.  The pink suit was nice, just haven't been a real fan of much since.  Jake just looks so great in classic cuts.

But here he was at a recent Prada show at Milan Fashion Week - the jacket, T shirt and shades look great.  Classic Jake!

Things then kind of fell apart ...

Again, like the jacket!  The shades.  Loose and flowing seem to be key words for 2023 fashion, maybe.  And easy for a father of many, right?  Nothing binding, pull over the head, no tucking in, pull-on pants over socks, comfortable sneakers, throw-on jacket.  Quick and easy.  Jake doesn't have time for too much complexity.   I am out the door, gotta go to work, kids! Austin, don't burn down the house while I'm gone!  And who doesn't like comfort?  😊 ✅

Meanwhile, Austin was allegedly wandering around (the States, we are to assume?) with his own paper dog Otis, playing the guitar and splitting wood, while looking like Eddie Vedder.

Hmmmmm, did Jared Padalecki inspire Austin to learn the guitar?  Or did he know how to perform already?  We know that Jared can play the guitar and piano, just like Austy!  Maybe they held a few jam sessions, wouldn't that have been something?  Too bad their people were so scared of them interacting, tsk, tsk, tsk...

I mean, it was Jared's show. And Austin a guest star for several episodes.  Then, his chosen director.  Both Texas bred and alleged residents.  Both big family men!  Both big book readers.  Both happy boaters on the Austin, TX waters.  Both CW alumni. Apparently both are dog lovers!  They share past co-stars/work acquaintances in common, like Jim Beaver, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Paul Wesley, Sophia Bush, Danneel Ackles, Chad Michael Murray, and Milo Ventimiglia.  Goodness! But apparently, they do not want to be seen interacting at all.  😉

Here's Austin's latest activities,

Austin would make a paper bag look good

Here was Austin "celebrating Dads" back on June 1.  😉

memories of the John From Cincinnati wetsuit!

Austy likes those hammocks, doesn't he?  ha

And while Jake was in Milan, Italy on July 19th for the Milan fashion week and Prada show, Austin was allegedly making a travelin' man stop in Nashville to pay a visit to Jana Kramer's podcast.  Allegedly in real time, although there wasn't any topic mentioned which dated the telecast.

On ITunes:  Full Frontal w Austin Nichols - WhineDown with Jana Kramer

The podcast episode is also still available on iHeartRadio at this link.

There is plenty of interesting chatter from our guy in the interview.  Of course, the "Full Frontal" is a nod to Austin's scenes in HBO Max's "Minx", which is discussed at length, along with other topics like Austin's current activities (alleged traveling with Colorforms® dog Otis), directing on Walker (although host Jana Kramer really fast forwarded through this topic because she was in such a hurry to get to One Tree Hill chatter), and the main focus, which was reminiscing about their days on the CW soap opera series.

No doubt, the main objective of Austin appearing on the podcast was made clear when Austin tells us that he is "in town", visiting Nashville on his nomadic trip with just doggo Otis at his side.  How do we know they were even in Nashville?

Let's also not forget this "drop" by Jana, how she and Austin were initially "roomies" for a period during One Tree Hill filming.

And again with the "roomie!" drop:

LOL!!!

Anyone else remember Austin having Jana Kramer as his "roommate" in his early days of filming on the show?

No?  Yeah, we didn't either.  😲

Maybe they both can expand on this new bit of tea when they're both appearing at the One Tree Hill "A Celebration of Giving" in Wilmington, NC, on November 12, 2022.  [you know, November 12, otherwise known as the day after the 11th birthday of Austin and Jake's 11-11-11 Baby Tile??]

That's a fortuitous coincidence, isn't it?

smh, "roomie".  lol.  What will these kids come up with next?  A new fauxmance?

So, there we have it!  Another Summer of Jake and Austin!  🌞 ⛺  👬 💦🍉🍧 🎡 🏊

Pretty low-key this year:  the two dads are just too busy enjoying their fam before the Fall Season Back-to-Reality, Back-to-Work for a month or so, before disappearing again during the November - January Gyllynichols 4th Quarter Holiday hiatus.  LOL!

Imagine when they eventually retire from the biz to become full-time grand-dads, it might not be a whole lot of different. 😏

On This Fourth of July 2022

What do you say when your country and the world, for that matter, is in various states of upheaval and feelings of helplessness?  I don't know about you, but rants and wailing about what's "not my country" and "what kind of world is this that we're living in", can help with self-relief, but at this point, is just not productive enough.

How many times do we need to be hit in the head with a mallet before we put a hand up to stop the mallet?

So instead of the traditional celebratory visuals and music, on this 4th of July, I would like to do something different and encourage to our American readers,

• Please register to Vote if you need to and still have time, before your state's deadline.

• Then, please VOTE in your state primary and general elections in the fall.

Those two steps will help make a productive difference.  Every single office is important.  School boards.  City commissions.  Mayors.  Amendments.  All of it.

And finally, a reminder to be aware of your surroundings.  Be safe.  Be smart.

We don't have to become hermits or paranoids, but it is a time to take extra care.

We at Narnia appreciate our readers (even though posts have been a little slow lately, but hey, it's summer!  lol) and we appreciate these following people, even though sometimes it can be a trial with a few of them (they know who they are!).  😁   They all are the reasons why we are here.

Our hearts are with those forever affected by the attack at Highland Park, IL, today and everywhere in our world, 💔

Bless the beasts and the children
For in this world they have no voice
They have no choice

Bless the beasts and the children
For the world can never be
The world they see

Light their way
When the darkness surrounds them
Give them love
Let it shine all around them

Bless the beasts and the children
Give them shelter from the storm
Keep them safe
Keep them warm
