Oh, you thought this was going to be a post about some of Narnia's fathers and their fur-babies? Well, let's see, we have (or had) ...
Jared Padalecki - Arlo and Bridge
Jensen Ackles - Icarus (it sounds like Icarus may have crossed OTRB)
Jake Gyllenhaal - Leo
Austin Nichols - Otis
And while the Padalecki-Ackles pups look to be actual members of their household, Narnia has always raised eyebrows at Jake and Austin's. LOL!
I mean, what was this? Remember the disastrous set of photos from April 2015?

The photos were not a great endorsement for Pup Dad of the Year, let's put it that way. We haven't seen Leo for quite awhile. And while it's possible that Austin's "Otis" is indeed a Gyllynichols member of the fam, we're lucky nowadays to get a glimpse of one of his ears or paws.
Nah, what we feel quite confident about is these two couples juggling fatherhood, separate careers and public images, along with their own intimate relationships.
Jared and Jensen, because of their beards, are able to show a family image (although separate), yet while also maintaining false images of "being away" from their kids a lot, especially during the years of filming Supernatural. 👀 We won't get into that today however, because of the nature of the holiday.
Despite most of the "separate family unit" imagery, the two men have shared stories on convention panel stages and photos which give a glimpse that all is and has not been, as it has been portrayed or some fans wish to believe.
The J's with Tom, JJ and Shep in 2015 |
Despite the stories they've shared during convention panels which reflect that Jared and Jensen are the heads of a nuclear family, I believe the 2015 pool pic was about the last allowed "Polaroid" we've seen of these guys together, with any combination of their children. Paranoid publicists usually seem to prevail these days, it seems! That's okay, current photos are not necessary.
🏡🏡🏡🏡🏡🏡🏡🏡
Then, there are two men who have never shared a convention stage together or a collective family photo, but we have absolutely no doubt, they are their own family. Let's recount a few online moments from the past on this Father's Day, as well as some simply romantic throwbacks in a delayed salute to Jake & Austin's 15th crystal wedding anniversary on June 16.

Happy belated 15th crystal wedding anniversary to the longtime, notorious couple, Jake and Austin.
And Happy Father's Day to both of Narnia's enduring couples, despite continuing odds.
