Monday Musings: It's All in the Number

The ubiquitous number 28 appeared again last weekend when Louis Tomlinson continued the long standing tradition of raising Larrie fandom eyebrows on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the BBC R2 studio. Quite possibly, just one day after what might very well have been a certain OTPs 5-year anniversary.

Looking pretty good there, Louis.

The moment started out innocently enough with Louis talking about his upcoming debut album with Dermot O'Leary:

“I’m a bit pedantic about this, I want this to be value for money, so it’s going to be as many tracks as I can possibly get on it. I want to get it close to eighteen.”

By itself, nothing seemed particularly outstanding about the fan friendly statement. Eighteen songs for a deluxe edition of an album was a generous prospect for a fandom eager to receive any new music from Louis. That is until one remembered that Harry had a total of ten tracks on his debut album back in 2017.  10 + 18 = 28.

That's right 28. A number that has continued to surface in a recurring, complementary way between Louis and Harry, similar to those obviously coordinated tattoos that have completed them since 2012 (e.g., compass and ship; rope and anchor; rose and dagger, etc.).

The 28 fandom lore officially started back in 2013 when one of Harry's very public friends, tweeted about some pending nuptials and a fan responded with, "Do u mean harry?":

Harry Styles then tweeted the following statement:

Harry's mom (although there was a quick explanation that she was really talking about Louis Walsh):

And, the rest  as they say is history for 5 years running. The number 28 never far away when it comes to Louis and Harry.

Just to mention a few, Harry announced his tour on 4.28.17 and his first live show in San Francisco was 9.19 = 28. He also, started his first song of that tour at 9:28 p.m.

Soon thereafter, on May 13, 2017, Harry announced that he was going to do a secret gig in London at The Garage in Highbury, North London that night. Welllll, not only does the date equal 28, 5+13+2+0+1+7, but Harry actually waited until 20:08 to start the show.

Moving on, the two songs Harry selected to sing from his debut album on Saturday Night Live were from tract 2. "Sign of the Times" and from tract 8. "Ever Since New York".

Louis Tomlinson released his debut solo song "Back to You", featuring Bebe Rexha on 7.21 = 28

The "Back To You" music video has a home with the number 28 on the front door.

Harry Styles first colored Instagram photo since September 2014, which was posted in May 2015:

Louis' soccer jersey:

Harry announced his first solo music video on May 6, 2017 - 5 + 6  + 17 = 28

Louis' 28 earpiece,

Louis got his 28 tattoo on December 19, 2015 - right before the Hiatus from Hell™️ began, and during the time he was saddled with another beard and about a month before his stunt child, "Freddie Reign" was officially born. Given that closeted framework, perhaps 28 has a political and social significance. Remember that Section 28 (repealed on November 18, 2003) has deep meaning to the LGBTQ+ community in the UK.

What is Section 28

There are many more examples that span the personal, social and political spectrums. But it's pretty clear, after five years of teasing, that 28 is a special number to these two young men. Maybe one day, the boys will let us in fully on what that little (big) secret is. If that time ever comes, we promise we won't tell anyone. Pinkie swears.

Oh, and by the way, do you know what else equals 28

14 + 3 + 11 = 28

So 44 pics of Jake and his Big Sis. A couple of pics of her and “husband” Peter Sarsgaard at the NYC premiere of her new movie last night.

But no pics of Jake and Peter in the same frame, do I understand that right? Was Peter really there? I sure as heck don’t think Jake was.

Sorry, folks. Backdrops do not cut it anymore. Someone just has to upload the backdrop and red carpet once the event starts, and then Jake/Big Sis can take their pics at another time and place. Then someone on the social media team plants their images in front of the backdrop.

What a charade, lol. That family - what kind of family-in-laws did Austin get himself into. Oh wait - his family isn’t anymore of truth-tellers. This isn’t anything new to him.

Jake’s team sure wants to place him in NYC right now, likely leading all the way up to Baby Tile #1’s birthday, which is not far away.

Too bad the Yankees are out of the playoffs - Jake could’ve convincingly placed himself in the Big Apple by maybe joining the broadcast team in their booth for a visit. Now. that would do it. ;-)

Okay, no time to linger today. Got a lot going on at work. My time with the kitties is winding down and I’m getting a little sad, but also anxious to see some of my neighborhood again.

We’ll have a post early this evening, everyone. It took a bit longer than it should have, lol.

Chiefs lost last night and are now 5-1. They came close to winning yesterday, if only we had a better defense.

Happy Monday! Let’s do this - a new week!
