Yet this is what fans are being met with at this very moment instead:
How interesting that this particular video has been previewing clips for several days making it clear (Loud, Loud, Louder) that the content, themes, and similarities between Louis (WALLS) and Harry's (Lights Up) music videos are about the music industry and its conscious, brutal and continued closeting of two young men. Two men who have been in a loving relationship for nearly a decade, and who simply want to be free. Sony/Syco (including label subsidiaries, Columbia and ARISTA Records) are more than aware that today is an American Federal holiday and that fans were anxiously awaiting the YouTube music video's release - excited to hear, view and begin streaming Louis' solo work for charting purposes, while also anticipating more embedded clues about what really has been going on behind the scenes.
Fortunately, Louis has Worldwide fans who are devoted and incredible supporters of his work and his personal story. Such buffoonery will not deter their admiration or respect. They may have been delayed for some 50 minutes this morning, but they know how to handle bullies. Never give up. Be brave. And, continue to love and support Louis and Harry. No matter what. Those walls will come tumbling down some day. To paraphrase Louis, then "We'll be taller than them all."
No doubt some plausibly deniable story will emerge soon to gaslight everyone into believing that a simple and innocent technical difficulty occurred today.
But, for now, it's 9:35 a.m. PST and still no video. We'll be back to properly analyze the WALLS content when it finally becomes available. If Louis and Harry can be patient, so can we. As Harry once tweeted back in 2013:
Seven years later, and we're still listening, and we still see the truth. Because the relentless sabotage is not just about Louis and Harry. It's about One Direction. About how Sony/Syco are punishing all five men in both big and small ways, using them as industry examples of what will happen to those who dare to challenge the closet. It's about control. There maybe be crickets coming from Sony this morning, but Louis is as loud as ever.
But these high walls, they came up short
Now I stand taller than them all
These high walls never broke my soul, and I
I watched them all come falling down
I watched them all come falling down for you
Falling down for you
Now I stand taller than them all
These high walls never broke my soul, and I
I watched them all come falling down
I watched them all come falling down for you
Falling down for you
Except from WALLS music video - One Direction
[Edited: YouTube video finally up at 9:50 a.m.]
