Louis and Harry at Dinner |
With all the drama that came from Friday's Love on Tour show in Nashville, the time seems right to examine why Harry Styles suddenly chose to explicitly address the alleged "inspiration" behind "Watermelon Sugar." The question seems particularly salient after nearly two years of Harry's trademark zigging and zagging, contrasted by Sony's nearly year long indoctrination campaign to spoon-feed their preferred meaning to the unsuspecting public.
This song is about…it doesn’t really matter what’s it about…It’s about, uh, the sweetness of life [sing it to me - audience starts singing lyrics back to him]. It’s also about the female orgasm but that’s totally different. It’s not really relevant.
Okaaay. Let's first try to tackle the most obvious question of what that unexpected overshare moment even meant?
"But that's totally different. It's not really relevant."
What's "totally different," Harry? What exactly is "not relevant"? Are you trying to suggest that the song is about the male orgasm? LOLLLLL! Considering Harry went on to sing, "I'm holding a banana," one does have to wonder if he was told to personally "clear things up" but consistent with his RBB ways, more ambiguity was the predictable result from the Cheshire wunderkind.
Furthermore, as one tries to sort things out about the Summer Feeling artist, don't forget that this 16-year old lovesick fool also tweeted these lyrics out less than a month after One Direction came in third on the X Factor and during a time when Louis and Harry were known to be inseparable:
We also know who Harry was having a romantic Italian dinner with during this time.
While Louis used his twitter to GPS their comings and goings
Then, on the fourth anniversary of Louis' AIMH pronouncement, Harry decided to take to social media once again,
Seems like when Mr. Styles expresses his enthusiasm about summer and the warm feelings associated with that liberating, optimistic season he has a history of associating himself with a certain someone. A certain someone who he met at the XFactor in June/July 2010 and was subsequently placed into a singing group with on July 23, 2010. A time that changed Harry's life forever. In other words, the summer feeling that's so wonderful and warm that Harry sings about in "Watermelon Sugar" has consistently been associated with one person and one person only - a singular "faith in the future" Yorkshire lad who underneath the crafted image of the closet has absolutely no association with female orgasms.

For this reason, Harry's Friday night cryptic "clarification" seems even more confusing in that Harry shows up the very next day wanting to be photographed wearing a provocative BSDM t-shirt, along with the I-am-a-Louis "girl" blue bandana that dates back to One Direction days.
"You can wear a certain type of bandana...to symbolize what kind of girl you are" |
Hmm. An inflatable banana (while Harry still wears a necklace that speaks to the male anatomy), a Louis blue day collar, and sub vibes. I don't know, Harry. This kind of messaging sure seems pretty darn gay to Narnia.
Therefore, the question still remains. With Harry signally all over the place, from his flamboyant clothing and accessories, to his green and blue lighting on stage,

to his coquettish drop-it-down-low dance moves towards men,
and, his celebration of colors every night,
why would Harry suddenly publicly "confirm" the Sony official het narrative surrounding "Watermelon Sugar"? Especially when he had remained intentionally vague about the topic for nearly two years, and with his Fine Line tour scheduled to end next month?
Well, first and foremost the 10-year anniversary of Louis' declaration of love for Harry, "Always in My Heart" was about to be celebrated on Saturday. Remember, Sony loves nothing more than to unleash the hounds on Larries, particularly during happy times. The strategy steeped in homophobia intent to make the fandom even more toxic than it already is. The goal, a simple one: to rid the fandom of as many LGBTQ+ friendly fans as possible, because those fans are Louis and Harry's life support. If, however, Sony is allowed to bully those fans off social media and from wanting to stick around, Louis and Harry are stripped of their power base, and the ability to express their truths as members of a community and as a proud, sappy couple in love.
Secondly, Harry is about to embark upon two-days of sold-out Madison Square Garden performances. No doubt the perfect venue, along with his Forum gigs at the end of the tour, to push the beard and any other high profile media narrative Sony sees fit. The "Watermelon Sugar" stunt, perhaps just a intro of what is yet to come.
Thirdly, Louis allegedly had been seen by a fan in a small town in Wisconsin on September 26...well-timed to coincide with Harry's three day break from his tour.
Considering that Harry was playing in Chicago, which is just under 200 miles away,
And, Louis had just liked a Cal Aurand (One Direction's Tour Photographer and the person who turned Harry into a Green Bay Packers fan) Instagram post on September 25,
...it's quite possible that Louis and Harry were acting out because of what Sony was about to make Harry do in Nashville. Narnia would also like to remind the naysayers who think that Louis and Harry couldn't possibly be getting together in Wisconsin right before their special day of September 28 [click the link below for details].
...that Harry just so happens to have spent many a summer in that northern area as a result of his public friendship with Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber. Does Lake Muskoka (the Malibu of the North) ring a bell, for instance? In fact, there's lots of private islands up near the coastlines of both Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. A perfect picturesque love nest for two camera shy, closeted lovebirds.
And finally,
Harry delivered these lines because Sony wanted to take the smoking gun out of their own hand by making the victim of their p*ssy campaign, (i.e., Harry) publicly "confess" to the narrative they, in fact, formulated, packaged, and sold to the public. Don't forget that Sony/Syco has used this bullying tactic for over a decade regarding many topics related to both Louis and Harry. How many Larry denials have we had to be subjected to from Louis’ own mouth? How many times has Zayn or Liam had to “explain” how those awful Larries ruined Louis and Harry’s friendship? How many times does Liam have to mention "Freddie Reign"?
The debasement and humiliation go on and on. Remember this mental abuse is essential to the closet. Try to shut the fans up by directing the victim of the closet to pull the rug out from under their own supporters. Strategically followed by massive headlines (many including the video) to “document” what, in fact, Sony conjured up behind the scenes. I believe Mr. Tomlinson calls that PR technique lies, corruption, and chaos.
Here’s just three examples of the "organic"
headlines that immediately began to explode appear overnight from just 10-seconds of concert video. To date over 20+ headlines ranging from Billboard to CNN to Buzzfeed to USA Today. For a song that was debuted on Saturday Night Live nearly two years ago in November 2019:
Oh, and if readers are still not convinced that something nefarious was going on in Nashville the other night, there's a few more clues that Sony was behind that "female orgasm" line. In other words, it wasn't Harry going rogue, but rather Harry countering their attempt to push him further into the closet. First, Harry wore an outfit that he made sure displayed a substantial number of his well known complementary Larry tattoos. In fact, during the last two nights, Harry even went shirtless to achieve that end on both nights. On Night 2 in Nashville, he went one step further and wore a sleeveless, fitted vest top which even allowed us to see some of his laurel (Larry) leaf crown tattoo. (Thank you, Harry.) Just like Louis' triangle-shaped ankle art work, we hardly ever see that laurel leaf body art anymore. Gee, we at Narnia probably can guess why, without even having to buy a vowel.
Just a little peek, babe |
All in all, despite years of harsh closeting, these guys continue to fight back and to speak to all of those fans throughout the world who want to hear their story. Louis and Harry could easily go silent. But they don't. They never have.
Happy Anniversary, fellas. And thank you for the joy, and the love.

Never
forget that Harry loves his seeded fruit. Almost as much as he loves his bananas. Along with his “medicine”proclivities. 👬 An all around wholesome boy, really. 😂
Strawberries = seeds; Watermelons = seeds; Kiwi = seeds; Cherries = seed
The English word semen comes from the Latin word sēmen, which means "seed".[1] In fact, seed was an old-fashioned name for semen.[2] The Latin word sēmen itself came from another Latin word, serěre, which means "to plant (a plant into the ground) or to sow (seeds in the earth)".
