December Drifts II: Piled Higher and Deeper

 • The 2022 Award for Color-Me-Not-Surprised goes to Sophia Bush, who cancelled in the eleventh hour for the Friends With Benefits Charity Event the weekend of November 11-13.  She was scheduled to take "Brulian" photo ops with Austin, along with other photo ops and activities with Hilarie Burton and Bethany Joy Lenz.  Allegedly, she had been feeling poorly and her doctor advised her to "refrain from travel" because of "the surge in COVID-positive rates and RSV cases".

Her reason might have been believable had she not been angry tweeting about politics leading up to the weekend, during the weekend with convention-goers, and following the weekend. Late into the evenings.  I mean...

Anyway, Austin was able to meet fans and no doubt, he enjoyed visiting Wilmington again.  What a lovely city that is - I'd love to go back!

• Let's just drop this one here.  Patrick and Travis.   I have dubbed them - Trahomes. For fun! 😉

If you haven't caught it and are interested in getting a better glimpse of a more relaxed, less-robotic Patrick Mahomes, his appearance on Travis and his brother Jason's podcast called New Heights can be watched on You Tube and other platforms.  It was very enjoyable and I know that I learned a lot.  I thought I saw more of the earlier Patrick Mahomes from 2018-19, as opposed to the more guarded #15 that we see the majority of time now, in interviews.  These guys are funny and it's also fascinating to see the brother dynamic between Travis and Jason, who plays for the Philadelphia Eagles.

•  This past Thanksgiving holiday meant that we had polarizing GPS practices to expect from two of our fave couples and they reset and synchronized our watches predictably.

Here was Jared's beard, Genevieve Cortese-Padalecki with her story about Jared's daughter marking herself up just before an alleged plane trip.  The story made People.com so that they could use "Jared Padalecki's Wife" in the headline.

Later on the beard's Instagram, we see a photo of brothers Tom and Shep, reportedly placing them at a Warriors/Jazz game in San Francisco.   Here are some photos allegedly of everyone (excluding Genevieve, of course) on holiday.

And no, we're not playing along and asking about the stroller.

Meanwhile, Jensen was placed in New Orleans with his beard and the cast of The Winchesters.  Here they were visiting the set, in a screenshot from the video,

and with the cast members,

smh.  lol.   Synchronize your watches, J2 followers.  Jared on the west coast, Jensen down in the southern part of the United States...😏

 lol.  *facepalm*

Then, we had Jake placed in New York City with the beard (as he told Stephen Colbert on his talk show that he was spending the holiday at Big Sis's, so either Brooklyn or Vermont, take your pick.  Just for formality purposes.) on the Wednesday before the big day.

And Austin phoned it in with a photo allegedly of him at a Univ. of Texas Longhorn game which took place in Austin, TX on Friday, Nov 25.  LOL.  Hook 'em Horns, Austy!

Very nice, fellas!

• It's interesting that Jake's film promo and release for Disney's Strange World wrapped up just before Thanksgiving.  That worked out well for him and the fam.   Jake made trips to Los Angeles, New York and London for premieres and so we were able to see new photos of the guy!  He looked great, smiling and all.

There were interviews, although really not as many as one would expect or is accustomed to with Jake.   Still, there were some fun ones and opportunities to learn a little bit more about Jake.  👍👍

This interview clip was interesting as Jake's co-star Jaboukie discusses how the animators study the actors in order to get a grasp of their character and mannerisms.  So it will definitely be a must to watch Strange World on Disney, once it starts streaming.

And in this one, Jake loves it all about the Thanksgiving meal.  Marshmallows on his sweet potatoes, the dressing, cranberry sauce...

😃😃  If only the opening could have gone better.  Unfortunately, the flick cost from $135-180 million to make and thus far, the total box office has grossed $43 million so far.  What was surprising was the lack of fanfare for the film, the kind that one is used to seeing with a Disney film.  There were numerous, numerous tweets from Disney film aficionados on Twitter who were surprised at how little they had seen or heard about the upcoming movie.

And on.  And on.  And on.   That is but just a small sampling.

When it is realized that Strange World has a gay, black character in one of the prominent roles (the son of Jake's character), the head scratching and befuddlement begin to take place.  Then when you see an article like this by the Daily Fail,

an article which was used for robot tweets by close-minded individuals like this one:

And under a Twitter environment that Musty Elon "Musk" has muddied, many robots came out of the woodwork to tweet identical looking tweets about Strange World.

It became instantly clear that it could be worth it for Disney Company to purposely not promote Strange World very well and watch it not do well, just so their TPTB could say, "See?  There is not a market for movies with LGBTQ+ representation."

That's a lot of money to put up though, isn't it?  Is it possible all of the money wasn't Disney's?  Just like I don't think Musty used all of his money to buy Twitter, but instead had financial assistance from one or more other countries or parties who were invested in wanting to see Twitter become a playground for radical accounts and turn off liberal-minded and democracy supporting accounts.  Just thinking out loud here.

We have watched how big a deal keeping the gate locked on the Hollywood Closet corral is.  It's very important to companies like Sony, WME/Endeavor, the NFL, Irving Azoff, et al.  And Disney is one of the worst about maintaining a roster of bearding actors.

Because there just does not seem to be any reasonable explanation for the inferior promotion.  There's too much patterned history beforehand.

Here's hoping that Strange World will find a widening audience when it comes to Disney+ streaming and receive great word of mouth.

We shall end this here, else we keep going and going like the Energizer bunny.  Lord willing, there will live to be another day for more chatting and whatnot.  😉😊

Knock out those Christmas cookies or shopping lists so there's time for some R and R.  December can be a very busy, distracting month and it's important to take some deep breaths, put the feet up and have some quiet, do-nothing time.  It's cleansing and decompressing.

Thank you for reading and enjoy the rest of the week! Here's a sacrificial marshmallow for those of you with a holiday sweet tooth. *wink

LOL! M&M picked on me for that little marshmallow guy because he’s going to become toast, but let’s not look at it that way! He’s a happy little guy and is just having a nice soak. :-)

Ha! I was just going to gently mention about the change in seasons. Just a friendly nudge to maybe bring out the red and green instead of those browns and golds. Just sayin'.

And, I'm sorry but Mr. Marshmallow is being boiled alive. Before long, his face will start melting and he'll begin resembling Simon Cowell. A tragic fate indeed.
