Jake and Austin, More Jake and Austin, and Even More Jake and Austin!






The continuing adventures of Jake and Austin across the pond this past weekend.  Of course, they are in Europe no more, but alas! October was their month to be loved up whenever there was a rare moment alone.  Because you know how kids are, right?

Here's a live look at Jake G. trying to find a moment's quiet at the Gyllenichols household at this VERY MOMENT:

*heehee*  All right, nah, let's get down to it because these two men were running with scissors [aka #kidfree] this past weekend:  Jake at the Rome Film Fest in Italy, while Austin was kickin' up his heels at the Paris Comic Con in France.

There were so many pictures of Austin with fans.  I've never seen so many.  It was wonderful to see.

As Austin said in that Instagram post, he "LOVES PARIS" and it sure looks like it.  They love you too, Austin.  So everyone else, what did you think of that?

So there you have it.  Lots of flash bulbs, lots of smiles and tight hugs, and the deepest wine red the likes we haven't seen on Jake in quite awhile.  We like those wild hairs, don't we?  Yeeeeah.   We want to thank the people of Rome and Paris for sharing more of these two men than we ever get to see here in the States anymore.  These pictures were a wonderful gift.  :-)

The French "Connection"






It looks like our fave pair Jake and Austin are both quite noisily in Europe "now".  Quite a bit of bell clanging and whistle blowing going on:

And now from yesterday, Oct. 27, Austin is in his first day's appearance at the Paris Comic Con - a Festival of Pop Culture. Pretty odd, don't you think to fly 5,092 miles to attend a fan convention in Paris for the TWD? Especially, since the big Walkers Stalkers Convention - 2017, is actually taking place right now in Atlanta, Georgia this weekend. You know, the high profile fan gathering with all the big stars from the show. Norman Reedus, Andrew Lincoln, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, et al., By the way, the Atlanta convention is only 921 miles from Austin, TX. Seems like Mr. Nichols may need an abacus before he uses up all of his frequent flyer miles.

And what's even more hilarious, is that Austin is the lone representative of TWD in Paris. A person who was killed off  in December of last year. Of course, anemic attempts are being made to provide cover.  His CW enabler Paul Wesley is being placed in Europe too, and one of his apparently macaroon loving female costars (at least per her Instagram account) from his recent cinematic effort, "The Iron Orchard". But those lame attempts to cover his European whereabouts is so flimsy one could drive a Mack truck through them.

Aaaah, but then we knew already that Austin loves France.  And this isn't his first Paris Comic Con.  Remember that time in 2012 when Austin attended the Paris Comic Con around the 4th of July holiday (5-8)?  He attended as a cast member of One Tree Hill back then. A little *sniff* memory of Buckin here:


And who got spotted over in Paris as well during that same time?  From a twitter account now deleted, thanks to M&M and one of her "notorious" Timeline Word Documents, we still have this old tweet on file. The Tour de France was taking place at the end of June, early July 2012. Remember those were the days when Jake was deep into the cycling world. Now, he doesn't know a Lance Armstrong. I wonder why? *smirk*:



Aaah yes, good times!  Now in 2017 in opportunistic timing, we have Jake in Italy because he's participating in an interview as well as a screening for Stronger at the Rome Film Festival.  Here's Jake today in Rome (you can see a glimpse of Jeff Bauman):

So, Austin in Paris....and Maggie was in Paris for the "Miu Miu" Paris Fashion Show in earlier October.

While around the same time if you remember, Jake was in Germany for the Zurich Film Festival.


 

Kind of beginning to take the form of a Gyllynicholsgaard European Mapquest, isn't it?  Throw in unconvincing stories about an Edible Schoolyard event in NYC, hammock swingin' and Austin City Limits in Big Texas, and Narnia is thinking the traveling commune has been skipping a good part of Autumn in New York this year.  ;-)

 Oh, and then there was this little interesting post/deletion.  A week ago, I happened to check out Austin's Instagram and noticed a pretty cool pic he had put up.  I backed out of the screen for some now regrettable reason, went back to it almost immediately and the Instagram post was gone.  Deleted. Which was why I tweeted this:

Looking at the calendar, I noticed how early it may have been to post that particular picture about Paris because Austin wasn't really due to appear at the convention until the 27th.  Folks might wonder why he was talking about Paris already, hmm?

When Austin finally did Instagram about being in Paris, he posted the T shirt picture instead of the picture I had seen.  What a shame! The picture had kind of made me think of Jim Carrey in Mask; it was a shame to not see it again.  But wait.  Someone did have the picture and they tweeted it to Huzzah! the upcoming arrival of Austin at the convention - the "source" just wasn't Austin this time. 

Kind of a nifty thing, isn't it, how that deleted picture from Austin's Instagram managed to maneuver over to a "civilian fan" social media account?

 Yeah, I thought so, too.

But let's not get too distracted by distractions.  After all, just think of what all of the sideshow was really covering up.  Sisters and a nanny or two can also indeed come in handy when a couple might want to take in the lights of France on a date night, particularly when you've all been domesticating across the pond for weeks on end.

The Nanny - Day 8


Thirty Days of Toothy Tile, Grey Goose and the Baby Tiles

Day 8




In 2007-2008, Jake was papped a few times in the process of being chauffered by this particular blond woman...

Prior to leaving for overseas and work on the movie Prince of Persia, Jake was seen frequently jogging with a personal trainer in southern California.  The filming schedule of the Disney movie would take him to Morocco, but also include "down time" with Reese Witherspoon and her children in Paris, France, Spain and London, of which the "R & R" was well documented by a plethura of pictures.


Now a funny thing happened on the way to watching Jake's comings and goings.    In 2010, a poster on the Waiting for Toothy 2 blog, long after the photos had been taken, suddenly discovered that there was a woman in these July 11, 2008 pictures of Jake, Reese, and her children Ava and Deacon, who looked awfully similar to the blond, "chauffer" woman in the 2007 and 2008 photos.  

There was once video of this walkabout (by the pap agency x17) and in the film, you can see Jake and Reese walking side by side behind this blond woman who was carrying a small baby and stroller.  The stroller is bedecked in everything looking brand-spanking new and blue.  This video is no longer available anywhere online.  But this wonderful Waiting for Toothy2 blog regular had preserved picture comparisons and a string of screen caps from the video during a hot topic of conversation on the unforgettable evening in late January 2010.  The highly animated and excited online discussion was highlighted by whether or not Ava Phillips, daughter of Reese and Ryan Philippe, did in fact appear to run towards the woman carrying the baby and begin to reach up and touch the baby's arm.

 I have no doubt she did - will never forget seeing the video.  Here are the screen caps and a link to the website tinypics.com because it might be beneficial and easier to zoom, in order to see them in the link.  I just found these screen cap pictures while writing this, God bless this fan.  We thought the video was forever lost, but at least we have these stills.  Unfortunately, this is on X-Large, so I can't make them any bigger (being technically challenged and all)


Ava is in the red top and that is one of Jake's people/handlers in the white slacks and dark top and hair.  They were all spread out but as you can see if you're able to blow up the pictures, Ava does reach up with her arm towards the baby.  Now, one scoffing poster said that Ava was probably reaching up to touch her own hair.

 As someone who saw the video, I saw what looked to me like young Ava running towards the woman and baby, reaching up with her hand, but then pulling it back right away.  The video is forever "lost", but we now have these screencaps and humongous thanks to that old timer poster.

Interestingly enough, one year later in 2009, this blurb appeared on People.com, dated February 4:



He wasn’t there for the coffee, but Jake Gyllenhaal was deep in conversation with a mystery blonde at his favorite hangout, Caffe Luxxe on Montana Avenue in Santa Monica. Dressed down in a gray T-shirt and jeans, the actor appeared to be interviewing his companion, onlookers say. The two chatted for 30 minutes and left separately without ordering anything.  source

Sure enough, looks like People.com wasn't blowing wind. IHJ has a few pics of Jake "leaving Caffe Luxxe" in Santa Monica, dated February 2:
 



 What a cutie! Check him out.

So Jake interviewing another "personal assistant", who happens to be blond.  It would be practical to imagine that Jake would want a blond female because in a car or from a quick angle, she could easily be mistaken for Reese.

This will not be the last time 30 Days posts on the "blond woman"; we will see her once again later in time.  :-)

Yes Virginia, There Are Real Couples in Hollywood: The Continuing Story of Jake & Austin

It was over four (4) years and 7 days ago when Jake/Austin fans were blessed with this photo op from New York City:




Of course, there was a chaperone, a distraction.  But with 10 years of history; 10 years of coffee, date night, working out, bicycling and "out and about" photos together plus the fact that we've never seen this "mystery woman" ever again, it's not difficult to realize who the real couple was on this November 9 of 2012.

with the last picture being from March of this year 2016 outside of Bangers in Austin TX, plus this little wonderful gem:
Seeing Austin and Jake together at SXSW in March and seeing that they had had another little girl together late last year tells us that the GyllenNichols family is still going strong.

Are the absent but long-time OMG'ers plus a few of us at Narnia the only ones who are aware of this special relationship between Jake and Austin?  Well, there was the original author of the Toothy Tile/Grey Goose story, Ted Casablanca, but he's too busy selling his art to the Palm Springs masses now.

Hey, how about chownoodle?  Who is chownoodle, you ask? Guess what popped up on October 31 of this year in a Jake post on Just Jared?



Can we get a Boom! from the choir on that one?

BOOM!

Yes, indeed.  Thank you, Harry.

Here's hoping November 9, 2012 will not be the last time Jake and Austin take a professional, PR approved photo op together.  But if it is, we shall just have to remain on watch for those "congras" and Brandon Fuller slips so that we can keep celebrating this somehow-enduring real-life Hollywood love story.
