Please pardon the mess

Hello! This is the first post of Narnia's Dispatches, an additional place for folks to comment and talk about some of our favorite One True Pairings and the Hollywood closet. It is an invite only community but will be open for public view. It will be a small community but most importantly, we will be able to talk without outside harassment. So please feel safe, feel free to come and go whenever you want, whenever you feel like it. And please excuse the mess, M&M and I are still trying to figure some layout refinements out. But there's time to chisel and buff; in the meantime, I just wanted to be able to get some updates done. Here's a few pics of some couples we will be discussing at any time:

Jake Gyllenhaal & Austin Nichols:

Jared & Jensen:

White Out

This is insane!!!! It feels like being inside an igloo. The skies have opened up and is dumping snow all around. You can hear the wind howling outside and everything is covered in untouched white. Drifting is an understatement. I can no longer see outside the dining room window and the snow is piling up against my bedroom window. I need to be inside a cabin, not a JoCo suburban apartment. Check it out.

Very Special Birthday Flowers

Boy, I didn't realize that it had been so long since I posted on my own blog. What is so funny is that the picture on my blog is an Easter picture. And here it is about to be Easter again. Hey! I don't have to change my wallpaper. LOLLLLLLL

Anyway, enough of that. Last April I received what was possibly the most beautiful flowers I have EVER received, bar those that my Dad bought for me when I was younger. Two fellow blogger friends bought these for me for my birthday and I'm not sure why - I'm certainly not deserving of flowers. But the grandest of gestures. Look at these. They're beautiful. Do they not have impeccable taste or what? Just exquisite.

My Favorite of Them All

I have posted several pictures of my various dog watches. But THIS one, THIS one holds the key to my heart now. She's my little dog-niece. LOL!!! Or is that niece-dog? She's a rescue dog and belongs to my brother's family. Her name is Reeses. We will not go into why I was most disappointed in their choice for a name; that's a whole other story.

Regardless, doesn't matter. Reeses is the best dog in the whole world. I love her.

Edible Gift Arrangements

Last year, my brother and his family couldn't be here for my birthday but they sent something and wow, was it - edible!! An edible arrangement. This thing was awesome with sweet pineapple, large strawberries and just a lot of creativity and talent. They came from a company called Edible Arrangements.

Memorial Tulips

During the last year of my dad's life while his health prevented him from being able to do routine yard/home maintenance, a young man from Mom & Dad's church was able to help us all out with some of it. His name was Jason and he was so generous. He grew quite close to Mom & Dad and we all got accustomed to seeing Jason around the house. Anyway, the day that Dad died, he started this little memorial ring of tulips around the front tree of my folks' house. They came up last spring and I'm sure they'll be up this year too. What a gift he gave by doing this, working into the dark to get it finished. Here they were in full bloom last year:

See how they lean in that bottom picture? My Aunt Florence says they bend towards the east in the morning and then lean towards the west in the afternoon/evening. Makes sense, huh?
