Haven't you heard? "Cockles" is the new J2. "J2 Fallout/J2 Divorce" has happened and Cockles is the new One True Pairing. There's only one major problem.
The problem is, followers of J2 (actors Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles) have already seen the original and this "flipped and repurposed" version is an epic fail, along with their either limited or clueless money-pit fan base.
That, after sixteen (16) seasons and years, we're supposed to believe that this:

And when I spoke to Jensen and Jared, about four months ago, he insisted he was very single. Naturally, this may have changed since then. I know he's recently been linked to Genevieve Cortese.

Here's Jared (along with Jensen) talking about what they missed from the early days of filming Supernatural and likening the experience to that of falling in love and a honeymoon? Comparing the time period to the poetic, romantic phrase of halcyon days:
Jared: "It's very romantic."

Years and years of glued at the hip, co-dependence, character-bleeding, yarns and yarns of quotes from friends and cast-mates, directors and convention panel stories galore about the two of them, with countless references as "the boys". They even "married" within three months of each other in 2010, for crying out loud. All until these last couple of years, when suddenly and noticeably there's been a contrived and purposeful separation as the show wound down.
They're not coming out, that is plain and simple. They are gradually being separated, so that all of the above and its social media witnesses will fade away. Separate shows. Separate friends. Sometimes now, even separate living geographical areas. But what else happened?
Long-time meard, Misha Collins, suddenly split from his "wife", when? Following the ending of the show, after a short "grace" period - look at the timing of that. He wrote a book of poetry, filled with cryptic and *hint hint* poems, like a Taylor Swift songbook written about concocted, made-up relationships. Now it's Jensen and Misha Collins who are uncharacteristically constantly in contact on social media, throwing out hints of "couple-dom" left and right. If we are to believe the likes of Tumblr's "msgrumpygills" who chronically posts alleged anonymous Ask after Ask's, hey, the past sixteen years have been an illusion. It's been Cockles all along and Jared (oh, excuse me, "J*red") the one who never really existed. It's all a figment of your imaginations! 👀
This is why Spn Goss was taken down, so that fans cannot refer back to the years of threads, full of sightings and a timeline of tweets and melodrama for consultation. With a catalyst of "prequel melodrama" which took place on Twitter for the whole world to see, the gradual plan for the online destruction of J2-OTP took a jump-start, causing many believers who bought into it, to leave the fandom, making it easier for TPTB to reconstruct "history" and market Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins as Supernatural's actual OTP, i.e. one true pairing. Jared Padalecki has been reduced to a mere bit player.
For reinforcement? Just a continuation of one of Management's familiar tactics of marginalizing Jared. One way is to use Tumblr to feed and spread hate against him, to make Jared "unworthy" as a friend, let alone Jensen's soulmate.
Every day, literally post after post of putting down, excluding and making up interpretations and story-telling about Jared. Get a load of this one.
Management's intern accounts just trying everything, to see if any of the planted garbage will stick.
Because didn't you know? Jensen "stormed off"! Look at this staged nonsense. In the video below from the recent Denver Creation Supernatural convention in earlier October, Jensen literally had to slow up and wait for Collins, who had slowed up and took his time, waiting for Jensen to reach the curtain so that they could "walk together". And Jared nearly stumbles waiting for Collins to move so he could lay down the mic. It really is comical. Work on better timing next time, guys, okay? #eyeroll
Meanwhile, TPTB made sure to save the controversial question about Castiel's confession of his love for Dean (Ackles' character on Supernatural) to occur at the end of the J2 Gold panel. This strategic placement, followed by Jared spewing a bunch of homophobic nonsense is then followed by Jensen leaving the stage, supposedly because he was miffed over being "silenced" by Jared's verbosity.

Quite the nice touch of Jared reaching out with his arm to put around Jensen's shoulder and oh, Jensen wasn't having it. Tsk, tsk, tsk...boys, boys, boys...

Maybe one day, when Narnia is bored out of our gourds, we'll spend more time analyzing these past couple of months in further detail. But why waste our Harryween on such nonsense? The proof is in the pudding.
Sixteen years of history. Sixteen years of two perfectly-fitted Lego pieces, only to be undone by, what? By a staged "misunderstanding" on Twitter when Jared and Jensen have cell phones they could have used to work out their gripe? A staged "misunderstanding" that found its way to Just Jared, national publications, a Twitter Trend, cast members taking sides and cryptic, sub-tweeted swipes? Over two men who have been inseparable since the beginning of the show? All undone by one "misunderstanding? I thought they had one fight long ago and they both agreed they would never to that again? They've even spoken about this during convention panels.
According to Jensen, however, it wasn't always smooth sailing. He admits that during season one, he and Jared got in a heated argument. But, they both realized they would need to be friends in order for Supernatural to work, and came together to make that happen. Narnia has seen this show before and we know the ending, thanks to Jake Gyllenhaal and real life partner, Austin Nichols. Management, Jared, and Jensen will do what they're going to do and they will all pander to the fans enough to sell convention tickets so that they can continue to peddle the Cockles Flipped! narrative. Because that is looking like the purpose for these conventions now. To provide a public platform for the continued J2 "erosion", supplanted by the Cockles carefully cultivated pairing. That was the reason why the ending of the show was written the way it was. The whole Castiel "confession" along with conjured up rumors of re-writes and the whole "Jensen had to be talked into the ending" which he had already set the stage for with his elaborate story long beforehand; all of this formed a narrative of Jensen's real feelings being suppressed about the confession scene.
The "confession scene" controversy and hellers shouting accusations of homophobia against the writers and showrunners of Supernatural for not allowing Dean to reciprocate what seemed to be a slam dunk "Yes, I love you too" to Castiel? This has been carried over to real life and onto the convention stage, during convention photo ops and panels. Jensen and Jared's people are using all of this chaos to further bury J2.
Wake up and smell the coffee because this is what is happening.
Because don't you know? Jensen and Collins can't wait to be out and proud. Jensen just keeps being silenced! It's everyone else who is preventing the Cockles twosome from revealing their true selves. 😮 👀 😉

A sixteen year timeline, filled with video and a cornucopia of pictorial evidence overcomes all of this fourth quarter nonsense. The shared mortgage also came first and was scrubbed away. Because that's what happens to truly revealing tidbits about our OTP's. Real moments eventually either disappear from the Internet or are allowed to be rewritten/distorted to undermine their original meaning and the fake narratives are given oxygen through the manipulation of social media platforms like Tumblr, and gossip sources like, People Magazine, Eonline, Just Jared, Daily Fail, and let's not forget the current PR mouthpiece known as @DeuxMoi. And, apparently the way it's working now, the "Creation Convention Theater". 😉
Narnia is thankful for this opportunity to take a trip back through the archives and remind those who are still paying attention that there's much more to this story than the last twelve months would suggest. And, Scene!
