Liam Payne Gifting From His Heart of Gold

It was just two posts ago that Narnia was pointing out Mr. Liam Payne's heart of gold and what does the young man do to exemplify this further?

1D Fans Give was fundraising in honor of Liam's birthday:

Liam Payne has done so much for fans so we the fans would like to give back. In honor of his 24th birthday, we are collecting donations for  the Way Youth Zone in Wolverhampton, a purpose-built facility for the city's young people aged 8-19 (and up to 25 for those with disabilities).   source

Struggling a bit to reach the goal of $5000 despite their best efforts, the leaders of 1D Fans Give were shocked today to receive a donation which would help them to reach their goal:

The Way Youth Zone in Wolverhampton (where Liam was born and raised) is a facility designed to give youth a safe and supportive place where they can spend recreational time, involving sporting activities, relaxation and music.

What a thrilling, wonderful gesture on Liam's part and it's just another instance of the 1D band members in tune with their fans, listening, watching and reaching out; as if entertaining wasn't enough.

Happy Birthday indeed, Liam.  You are A-OK and a giving heart.

To Liam, the administrators of 1D Fans Give, other members of 1D (former and present), and so many of the generous 1D fandom, you exhibit the joys of giving and Narnia is inspired by and salutes all of you!

Good morning! Happy Blessed Sunday to you and I hope your baseball team is doing much better than mine is. We will NOT talk about the Royals, ha ha.

Gas was $2.65 today and a head of lettuce at the store was $1.99. Things are high here in JoCo, thank heavens for Quik Trip and their cheap drinks! :-)

I'm just glad to be off of work after this past week, which was so hectic I couldn't hardly catch a breath. My co worker was on vacation and so I had my stuff to do and then hers, thank goodness I received some help which I gladly accepted. Although a lot of times, I like it when everyone leaves for the day and I can just sit in quiet at my desk and work. All the outside noise and distraction, you know?

And so listen to this. This is a story of what I guess is human nature, I don't know.

We had cause to celebrate at work and so I'm on a committee that works on employee recognition and rewarding. So we had a lunch cookout, something we haven't done for awhile. We had a company come in and grill hamburgers, brats, chicken, etc. There were chips, potato salad, baked beans, and all the fixins for your burger: sliced tomatoes, onions, bunches of sliced pickles, cheese slices, lettuce, and condiments. There was tea and lemonade.

Then there were cookies.

And so I spent two hours helping out. A co worker and I filled drink cups and I was in charge of the cookies. There were two boxes of chocolate chip, a box of oatmeal raisin and a box of sugar cookies. There were like 100 per box or something like that. As we started, I asked one of the catering gals if we were going to get more cookies for the other two shifts or was this all we had? And she had to go ask her partner. She came back and said that what was in the room was what we had ordered and that was it.

So I said "Whoa. Guess it better be 1 cookie per person, then."

So of course, many of the employees asked if they could have more than one cookie and I kept saying "No, sorry, only one. I think this is all we're going to have."

And so then I heard later some people weren't happy about that and complained to the HR Mgr about only being able to have 1 cookie.

:-(

I was the Cookie Monster. LOLLLL!!

I mean, come ON. And I did have to watch over the table because if you just leave those platters of cookies out, I guarantee you, there's going to be some folks who will pile on more than what they should take.

We can't even have catered meals w/o something coming out of it in the form of some complaining. I guess some folks were complaining about the meal being hamburgers and brats, I don't know what in the heck they wanted.

And they were served. We all literally served the food and handed over poured drinks and still, some random complaints.

There's just no pleasing some folks, huh? I was the Cookie Grinch. LOL.

So that was Wednesday and I'm still thinking about it, ha ha.

grrrr. Same thing with the annual holiday party, which I participate on that committee too, the one that plans and runs it. Since I've been working the party, there have been people who are LATE. Ten minutes, fifteen minutes. We're all seated and trying to eat. Then here come late people and they want their free gift and free drink tickets and disrupt committee members.

Do you have that kind of stuff happen? Smh. And so this past year, we said "No more. Either you are there by such and such time and if you arrive after that, then you wait until after dinner to get your free gift, etc." Put it up in a memo for all to see, made very clear.

There were STILL people who were late and then they sent their supervisor to me (I had the tickets and stuff) to beg to get their envelope of freebie things.

This is human nature, right? Always people who think rules don't apply to them, I reckon. Ugh. It's frustrating to work with, let me tell you.

Love work stories. The office and production floor work environments are quite different but they both have all of their patterned issues and uniqueness.

I'm sure movie sets and TV show studios all have their stories and water cooler discussions, right? And the funny thing is, when you leave high school, one would think some of these kinds of "Well, so-and-so gets to do it, so why can't I?" kind of comparisons would stop. The same kind of "groups". We've had people's lunches disappear in the past.

Here's another thing I notice. People like to sit at the same tables in the lunch room. Same areas. And people do this in aerobic exercise classes that I went to for years. They do this at church - it's a running gag. People have their favorite pew where they like to sit.

What does that say about humans? We have these favorite places where we feel safe or what? I have a favorite table myself, but don't have a problem sitting somewhere else. In aerobic classes, people tended to stand in the same spot, over and over and over.

Enough of that. Just kind of blabbering this morning.

Trying to decide whether to change the closet. Love the colors on this one, but it's about time to change.....

I forgot that I liked Dave Koz, hadn't heard him in so long. This song goes way back a ways, Castle of Dreams. And George Benson, Basia. Love this stuff sometimes.

Everyone have a great Sunday!
