Austin Nichols' No Show Career: How To Avoid Promotion Work in Ten Easy Lessons

Back in late February of this year, Austin Nichols' film The Iron Orchard was opening in theaters, first in the state of Texas, followed by other markets.  The cast appeared at the premiere in Ft Worth on Feb 23, followed by additional screenings and Q & A's.  And we at Narnia know that just like Big Sis' movie Kindergarten Teacher, by now it feels like these two films have been premiered, screened, promo'd, Q & A'd and shown for about five years!

But Austin and beard Chumley (Hassle "Hassie" Harrison), who both star in the film, have been rather selective about which promotional event they've attended.  Chumley has had some filming of her series Tacoma FD, Instagram posts to work up, and selfies to pose for.  And Austin....well, Austin poses with and holds her dog a lot.

So while their film The Iron Orchard was opening in theaters and premiering in Texas the weekend of Feb 22, looks like this is what we're to believe Austin and Chumley felt like doing rather than being in Texas with their co-stars, working the screenings and carpets:

Here's some of their co-stars posing at the premiere, Feb 22:

Star Lane Garrison posted that Midland, Texas even proclaimed the day "The Iron Orchard Day":

And again, allegedly the 23rd, the next day:

Somewhere in the U.S.A.....Austin and...you know who.

And then the first kicker.

Here's Austin promoting The Iron Orchard, we assume, on February 25.  At least that is what the Los Angeles television station KTLA seems to be telling us.   So Austin does lend his voice for promotion.

An interview where Austin proceeds to tell the interviewer how he is a native of Austin, TX and it was awesome to be able to film in his native state....

And he relays this from Los Angeles.  Three days later.

On the 27th, Austin's twitter account (if you wish to believe this was Austin himself, then he's referring to himself in the 3rd person):

And then to top things off, three days ago on March 25, Chumley DID make it to Texas for some promo work.  For her television show!  And where was Austin?  Well, we're not sure.  But he wasn't in Texas.

So, there you go, folks.  The anatomy of Operation Slough Off.

Aka, hubs Jake has 8pm shows on Friday nights and double shows on Saturday and Sundays in New York City.  And Austin has kid duty as part of that deal.

Sometimes it's never more clear that Austin and Jake are still together, doing that family raising thing, than when Austin has pulled another no-show.

And the no-show at The Iron Orchard theater opening celebrations on his home turf state was about as glaring as the shine off of Isaac Hayes' scalp.

Austin used to be ambitious when it came to his career. He even received his DGA card after he directed his first episode for "One Tree Hill" back in 2011. His missing in action lack of involvement with The Iron Orchard is a far cry from the guy who kept journals on every movie he saw, with intricate entries about his thoughts and observations. A resource for him to rely on in the future as he pursued his own projects.

What Austin apparently can find some time to do is participate in vapid, feeble-minded Instagram posts to "prove" he's with his beard, Chumley while "baby" sitting her dog and skipping out on screenings and openings for the few movies he does do. Show up for actual promotion work? Look like he actually cares about his career. Well, that's a bridge too far for Austie these days.

It's so obvious the guy's been, for the most part, MIA because Jake is working on his play in New York and fatherhood comes before career. He's literally Mr. Mom now. That's why Austin has to continue to have a beard. Endeavor can't just let him disappear, which is really what he has been doing, if anyone has been paying attention. A hetero image has to be maintained at all costs because of Jake. Not because of Austin. No matter how anemic and pathetic the attempts are. Some "proof" has to be put out there to counter any rumors. The intricate coordination is obvious.

Hi everyone!
Sorry for the incognito and no post this weekend. I started watching the wieners "crazy little" Maizie and Kirby yesterday. Errands to run and a basement with water issues means I'm pretty busy. But in between all of that, I'm working on posts and so never fear!

There's always stuff going on, isn't there? Congratulations to the Big 12's Texas Tech Red Raiders for advancing to the Final Four - that's Patrick's team! So I will be rooting for them in the Final Four competition.

It looks like there was a HUGE seed re-planting from the Supernatural convention today. I see you, fellas. smh.

Good lord. Mgmnt sure loves to paint Jared as a fragile flower, don't they? I've had it up to here with that crap.

This is how they're going to excuse Jared from fading into the sunset once that show is over. Fans will not expect him to stay in the business because he's always having these "breakdowns" and he's just so overwhelmed because of what he has to "put up with" with Genevieve and he needs rest! He needs to be out of the public eye!

Huge eyeroll. Sell it somewhere else, fellas. You can take that fandom for a heckuva ride, but it's not washing here. At all.
