Sometimes, in the OTP follower's world, when we find ourselves reminiscing about the glory days of our planet aligning pairings versus the status of the present, in the here and now...
Oh, but what a time to be alive!

And because they are such an ancient relic couple (before gifs were even invented) and weren't even allowed to do any press together for The Day After Tomorrow because they were such a loved-up mess apparently, we have nothing but a bunch of old, still photos,

It's not the things you say
It's not the things you do
But it must be something more
And if I feel this way for so long
Tell me is it all for nothing
You'll still walk out the door
If I had a photograph of you
Or something to remind me
I wouldn't spend my life just wishing
Narnia Dispatches is here for the fall season and we're into all of it - the changing colors of the landscape, a soft jacket for morning walks, hot cider, craft festivals, autumn Hallmark movies and...continuation of Shevine Saturday!!
Got another good video and it's by a familiar Shevine videographer, IronicPheasant. In fact, I didn't realize it, but today's featured video is actually Part 1 and we had already featured Part 2, lol. Oops.
Today's highlight is titled, "Adam Levine and Blake Shelton (Shevine) | The Best Moments" and again, the creator is IronicPheasant. It was uploaded on April 9, 2017, so this was in the latter years of Adam as one of coaches on The Voice. What's even more impressive is that the video has over 3M views and there are 1532 comments, with so many of the comments loving Adam and Blake together and then there are some trying to explain things away with the men being "so comfortable in their masculinity" and a few comment police reminding others that "Remember! Adam is married to Behati!"
Nonetheless, IronicPheasant selects some nice moments in her video and let's get to it. Enjoy!
Some of my favorite moments:
00:00 - ??? Is this moment with Cee Lo unedited or compiled? I look forward to seeing that episode. Looks like it is from Season 2. (misleading in this video)
00:50 - Blake singing on The Voice while Adam records/snaps photo
01:28 - Adam's eyes rising to Blake's hair
01:36 - whatever Adam had to say to Blake after his speech, earned him an extra hug clench from Blake, do you see that?? 😍
02:09 - stupid dancing! lol
This was a promo video that The Voice did for their tenth season, which shows Blake and Adam on an anniversary "date". It's pretty good.
😂😂 Thanks alot, Blake, helping to perpetuate that myth that Adam is obsessed with his looks. Who wrote that script? lol. Hilarious video.
Can you imagine Blake and Adam out on an evening dinner? Even if there were family or another friend present? Sure would be something to imagine.
😊
This is a nice video of Blake talking about Adam for Season 6 promo. I know that Blake has had some labels placed upon him due to his Brokeback joke scripted for his cue card on the 2011 Academy of Country Music Awards, but isn't that label so similar to how the same has been put on Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Jensen Ackles? Also, Jared at times due to a "friends" narrative with the Duck Dynasty crew? (In fact, that's where Liam's comes from as well - also a forced narrative of being a huge fan of the Duck Dynasty show in 2014?) So, knowing how publicist teams work by pulling from the same How-To Manual of Closeting, and having watched Blake in interviews, I am still withholding opinion on the label for him.
Here are the guys:

Adam, Jake, and an extra cup/jacket across the table
Hmmmmm....wonder whose cup and looks like a jacket possibly in the chair??? Austy???
Blake looks good against feathered walls, huh?
on Kelly's show in May
Adam on Blake 😂
guess who he's looking at
Sorry, this post has just gotten out of control today!
lol. Let's end with this one. We echo this Voice contestant's words:
Yup, here we are for another episode of Shevine Saturday /Sunday, a theatrical aesthetic by two entertainers, exquisitely comprised of humor, mystery and wonder, slapstick, romanticism, crackling drama and "OTPcloset-motional" pain.
And when you watch the very first episodes of Season One of The Voice, one which featured coaches who did not appear to know each other very well yet and the show content primarily featured the contestants, who would have ever dreamed that somewhere along the way, things would greatly change on both counts? Still - for now, we enjoy some of the pleasant music videos that fans put together, featuring many "classic" moments, whether scripted and pandered, or of a more organic nature. And today, we have another celebratory video.
Today's featured video is called "godgavemeyou", named after the accompanying hit by Blake Shelton. The video is uploaded by Jill Rae and features moments from the inaugural seasons of the show! Look at that date ➜ uploaded November 20, 2012. The Voice first aired in 2011, so the creator already had her attention en-captured by the subjects, singers Blake Shelton and Adam Levine. She already saw something special and was inspired to create a video about what might be a special relationship.
To be more exact in terms of a time frame, The Voice was in the midst of Season 3, which had opened on September 10, 2012 and concluded December 18. Surprisingly, not many fans have discovered the video as evident by the low number of views and that's also probably because the title does not contain either gentleman's name or the word "Shevine".
The song God Gave Me You is a pleasant ballad by Blake, almost four minutes long although the video itself is about half that length. A couple of observations or thoughts I had:
• at the very beginning of the video, there's a clip of a Shevine lap-hug that you see in all videos and is speculated to be a moment indicating something deeper going on. I keep reading on blogs that this was some kind of company or network party and since no one was paying any attention, that made this an organic moment, but I just don't know. My question is how does a company party picture get released to begin with and why would someone leak this photo in particular??? That's what makes me doubt it's organic.
• At 00:12 begins several moments from an Access Hollywood interview that is not available on You Tube. The video was conducted during season one and the host mentions the live shows were about to start, so this interview must have been done shortly before June 7, 2011, which was the air date for the first Live show. Adam and Blake are quite cordial in the interview which is so old, the technical quality isn't very good.
• At 01:49, Blake is seen telling Adam "That's my shirt" that he has on.
2012 is kind of an early time for clothes sharing??? lol. Later on, there are more incident(s) of Adam wearing a shirt that Blake wore or Blake wearing a shirt or denim jacket from Adam's clothing line. But this particular incident is questionably and blatantly mentioned on air, which raises my other eyebrow at such openness.
All in all, a very nice video and accompanying song - just kind of an abrupt ending.
Now, this quote from Adam is one of several reasons why there are some Shevine "classic moments" that I question:
The tumbler account which posted this quote (and referenced in the sources) tags that the interview was from 2016, but the interview which features Adam guesting on Kelly and Michael in 2016 on You Tube is so chopped up and while Kelly mentions "when we come back", (before breaking for a commercial), that they are going to be talking about The Voice; for some weird reason, any conversation about The Voice is not included in this upload. Instead, the video stops and then repeats itself by starting over again, including Kelly saying once again "when we come back, we're going to talk about The Voice" ! 😂 😮
Now, what are the odds of this? Is that just not the darnedest thing? 👎👎 I have no doubt of this quote's validity; sometimes, interviews posted on You Tube are not complete, so I will continue looking for this particular moment. Nonetheless, look at that last sentence of Adam's:
"and then we kinda caught on to this thing like they love it when we fight"
Oh really indeed... I"m sorry, but that is a very important quote to consider. It's not that fans didn't know that many of the Shevine hugs were shtick, but with regards to studying everything from beginning to end, it is still important. There were way too many tumblr accounts of fans who were seeing something beyond mere scripted "Shevine hugs", despite some of the activity seeming to be a few Milkbones in nature.
Now, don't fret!! By any means, we are not de-bunking Shevine based on suspicions of pandering and scripted moments. There is more than one layer to this tortilla. 😉 But, Narnia is here to try and decipher the complexity of Shevine and just kind of speculate.
For now? We are still enjoying some random moments and pleasant videos. Stay tuned for deeper analyzations after we have completed our star-gazing. 😍😍
Here are the guys.
why didn't Adam start his own line of white T's? lol
the cell phones seem to be everything to these two
This is funny - have you seen the time Adam wanted to hide Blake's phone from him?
"I don't have it!" - Adam to Blake
"Pharrell, where's my phone?! Who's got my phone?!" - Blake
"Get away, creeper" - Christina to Blake 😂😂
"Creeper?" - Blake to Christina 😂😂
That video is awesome - one of my favorites.
Adam had Blake going there for a minute, didn't he? 😉💓
gotta love the notebook toss - (credit to shevinecrave)

• A side footnote
Just a Jakey G. thought experiment for some more closeted
entertainment:As we have mentioned, we
here at Narnia have been on baby bump “watch” since May 2021 when he and his
team used the promo for Spirit Untamed to plant a sprouting seed about him
being a dad someday, and Jake dutifully recited his lines to perfection, “I
think it’s getting to be time.” It truly has been fun seeing more interviews
and events continue to reinforce a future narrative of “I can’t be gay because I have a child” story line.
His people, for instance, made sure everyone saw him at the Venice Film Festival
with photo and videos everywhere, walking the red carpet with his sister,
schmoozing with peers, so giddy you would think that he had a movie in
competition, instead of his sibling.VFF was the
perfect occasion for his beard to show up and push heavy on the hetero pedal.
Yet, by Jake being in so many videos with his sister, one could not help but
notice that his beard was conspicuously missing in action. Hmm, why not have Cadieu
on his arm instead of his sister, which frankly looked all kinds of peculiar? Could
it be that Jake wanted to convince folks that he and “girlfriend” broke up? Nah,
that would be so 20th century Hollywood. Contemporary closeting is all
about the babies. So perhaps Venice was all about reminding folks that Jake’s
beard was not there for a reason other than a breakup?Perhaps something more maternal in nature?
Today, we get another curious comment from Jake planted in a The Sunday
Times Style section (UK) interview today.
“I have realised how much more fun I would like to be. So
that’s a big thing. I’m trying to push through that.” Fun? Really? And who might Jake want to have “fun” with
that he doesn’t have in his life right now?LOL! Jakey you are just so darn transparent. We are truly looking
forward to further PR-created clue dropping. Maybe Jake will show up with a
pacifier in his mouth during one of his upcoming interviews. It certainly would
coincide with the infantile storytelling being unfurled with each passing
month. Developing story. Stay tuned. Please don't disappoint us.
