Last, but certainly not least, our third featured, squashed and Gumby'd OTP half? Mr. Jared Padalecki.
With Austin, it was about alleged twitter DM's to underage girls and public demeaning by his most recent beard, Chloe Bennet. With Louis, it was about the creation of a baby, denouncing of Larry and a very public airport exhibition. With Jared? It's been about "unstable behavior" associated with mental illness and a repressed anger/frustration due to the hapless bearding contract he is in. The situation has seen Jared transition from a relaxed, confident intellect to a fragile man in need of round-the-clock care-taking.

Take several of the JibCon Supernatural conventions for instance. In particular, the Jus in Bello (JibCon) of 2014. Chaos ensued on that Saturday the 24th and Jared's public persona to the fans has never been the same since.

It's still not been clear to me when the infamous "hotel lobby Misha Collins Swipe" took place in Saturday's schedule, but it happened just prior to the "shoulder injury" and Jared's "cancellation" from the remainder of that day's convention activities. In the following video, Jared is clearly not joking around when he chases Collins, who is indeed cowering under Jared's hold:

with a makeshift sling, he went on later to have surgery, about a month later:
In the opening minutes of the video directly below, Jared says (after a slight hesitation) that he had a "broken arm and torn rotator cuff" at a Comic Con held July 24-27. He says he had surgery "about a month ago", which places surgery around June 27. The injury occurred May 24, which translates to Jared walking around with a broken arm and serious rotator cuff injury for a month before surgery was performed. What is surprising about this besides the fact that the two injuries combined should be pretty painful, is that surgery would be delayed during what is already a limited summer hiatus. Why would you wait a month and thus delay his return to filming unnecessarily? And then there's that whole X-ray/MRI thing, two tests which are usually quick and accurate to diagnose a break and when exactly were they taken? Too many unanswered questions.
Then came 2015 and the second year in a row that Jared's appearance at a Jus in Bello convention was jeopardized, and in fact proved to be non-existent.

Interestingly enough, just prior to this JIB2015 absence, Variety had published a story, " 'Supernatural star Jared Padalecki Talks Depression and Why You Should Always Keep Fighting " - source
A doctor came to set and talked to me for about 30 minutes or 45 minutes and said: “Jared, I think you’re clinically depressed. I think I should write you a note and we can shut down production for five days and then we can take it from there.” - Jared P.
The Always Keep Fighting campaign was started in March 2015, inspired by several factors according to Jared: losing set stand-in Matt Riley to suicide, the urging of colleague Stephen Amell, who had a campaign established in the fight against cancer, and his own personal experience with depression.
There isn't enough space to go into deeper detail really about either JIB Con 2014 or JIB Con 2015. They both could have a post by themselves. There isn't a Supernatural/J2 fan who is not familiar with either dramatic ordeal. There were many unanswered questions with both incidents resulting in Jared's major absence in one of the conventions and complete absence in the other. When a third absence would have tipped the cart of suspicious activity, the beard Genevieve was brought in and she provided more than sufficient disruption.
Ever since these times, Jared has been depicted as fragile, in need of protection/looking after, and perpetually on the verge of another breakdown.
It's hard to imagine this "old" Jared from the past several years:

In summary....
This has been a bit of a read for a crisp Fall day (for some, it may take a week - LOL!), but a comparative narrative was necessary to illustrate that the emasculation of one-half of an OTP is actually a common practice in the entertainment industry. In other words, it is not an isolated phenomenon or aberrational curiosity. All three of these guys have been vilified and marginalized to sap their power and influence within their respective fandoms.
The technique succeeds on many levels. Fans are pitted against one another as sides are taken; which strengthens the hand of management teams in terms of manipulation and emotional abuse. The tool also elevates one of the pair over the other which undermines the notion that the perceived couple are compatible or supportive of one another. In other words, how could these two even be together? Or, stay together for that matter. Separation is the key. One is the golden boy, the chosen one, and the other is the bad boy, the troublemaker, or in Louis' case, the chav. What's important to remember is that the latter is the one management fears the most. The one with the voice which must be silenced. And, whose influence needs to be diminished. In reality, PR would not be so aggressive or purposeful if the couple were still not together, fighting the system that insists that their love dare not speak its name.

Whew. And there it is. The entire 3 part series really comes from literally years of countless observations and phone calls and emails. And I think a large part of the hold up these last couple of weeks was me just not wanting to finish the section on Jared.
Because frankly, it's a tough, extremely unpopular stance to take. But it needed to be put down in a post. It's been too obvious to M&M and myself. It's not a comedown on Jared. This is not a comedown on Austin. And certainly not a comedown on Louis.
These three men have carried out or born the brunt of what Mgmnt has wanted to do with their image. I think it's highly probable that in Jared's case, that once you are pounded on the head enough times, you give in to the pain and just say "Okay, ouch again. What can I say? It hurts, but it's nothing new."
Austin is not near on the visibility level that Jared and Louis are, not in the least. But for any long timer who has followed Jake and Austin, there were stories that used to be posted on old myspaces and DataLounge, that w/o a doubt, Austin is the one Jake defers to.
One comment about the pictures - the three at the end.
There are so many couply pictures of Jared and Jensen, it isn't funny. With them, it's a matter of which one? With Louis & Harry, there's endless video and gifs of them interacting and posing together before they were shoved into the closet and separated.
But with Jake and Austin? I was just telling M&M as we were adding these 3 pics to the end, that there is not one single public photo of Jake and Austin together where they are both posing together as friends/couple like there are with the other two pairs. Not one single one. Even the Lakers? That's a photo op and they're interacting, but they're not posing together with even an arm around the other's shoulder. In none of their many photo ops, there's not one picture where they are posing together, looking straight ahead of the camera and saying "This is us."
You know what I mean? Sure, there's biking together. Coffee strolling. Those are different, tho; they were photo ops. Borders? From the back. SXSW? They're in the same frame, but not together. Berlinale? Fuzzy. Separate. In the same frame, though. Sushi lunch? Austin is in back of Jake.
It's simply amazing. And sooooooo taboo.
Doing this post was a labor of love. Sadly there is so much to choose from that the research/compilation phase was a bit bittersweet. It's also fascinating to see how management teams handle the special circumstances of each OTP and put a special twist on the emasculation process. Because, no matter what, money is still the bottom line and that gravy train can't be disrupted. So with Jared and Jensen there are lots of photos of them actually collaborating together on the public promotion of "Jared the Woobie" and "Jensen the Protector" of his boy.
With Louis and Harry, on the other hand, Sony/Syco separated them completely. Would not even let them interact on stage. The official narrative was that Harry, at one point, even took separate planes. By 2014 Harry was allowed to openly wave rainbow flags at concerts, which separated him further from the homophobic persona of @Louis_Tomlinson on twitter.
And with Jake and Austin, their special circumstances revolved around a secret marriage and children. Which required Austin to be marginalized and portrayed as a D-Lister who didn't deserve Jake, and later on as a skirt chasing pedophile. The latter image obviously meant to alienate bloggers and further separate the wholesome, humble, likeable All-American, Jake Gyllenhaal from Austin Nichols, "The Loser". I mean when you are the "greatest actor of your generation" *smirk* why would you even want to be in the same room with someone who makes three minutes appearances on The Walking Dead and is obviously so busy he has no time to concentrate on his own career. He preferred instead to defer to his "pretty bird" nasty beard, Chloe Bennet, whose Agents of Shield career that far eclipsed anything he was doing. I guess Austin was too busy dog sitting Arthur and Wally.
Snark aside, the similarity between Eleanor and Chloe cannot be underestimated. It's part of the emasculation process and is often ridiculously heavy handed with a touch of cruelty thrown in for good measure.
With Jared and Jensen, we could be in the midst of another transitioning, hard to say. But notice both men have been separated on talk shows. Jared looked outstanding on Kimmel, even though it seemed like he was there to not only promote the season opener of Supernatural, but to pound home several narratives.
But it will be interesting to see where those two are headed because I find it hard to believe these two guys are going to want to go through another entire season trying to sell their whereabouts to those fans who follow very closely.
Videos can be manipulated too, did you know that? I decided to start doing some Googling this morning because I was....well, curious. lol.

That's just one article. There are all kinds of articles out there on how technology has even been able to force words into someone's mouth on video, words they didn't even say.
In the wake of all the hinky last night of Mgmnt placing Jared & Jensen at Austin City Limits yesterday and last night, it has been something else watching it all transpire. They could not get a good shot of Genevieve to save their souls. The only good shot they got of her was the picture of her and Jared at the entrance line. A picture where they both looked like they were HQ while everyone else was in a different light filter.
Then there was the police picture where all of the feet were fuzzy. What was up with that?
And then you had the mayor contributing to the whole "Austin" story. So the mayor and the police dept are all in cahoots with enabling this Austin narrative. What's in it for them? Publicity? Anything else changing hands, Mgmnt? Wouldn't be the first time, would it?
There was the "customer service rant" of Jared's which couldn't have been online for very long before being taken down with one flimsy excuse given that Jensen must have gotten him to take it down. That's where they really blew it. When I saw that Jared's twitter account had put up a rant, I knew it was the legitimate sign that there was distraction going on. I mean, that was the beginning major point of this point - all the stupid rants that his account has put up. And they went right to that well again.
So if their people are lurking, they should know that they need to up their game. This whole ACL nonsense was poorly carried out. The cover up was hinky as hell.

What is mind blowing to me is that you have all these folks acting like they're all drunk, you've got Jared being sure to have a Coors can in his picture (was there some cha-ching! going on there?) and many fans think this is so great that these folks were all drunk while (supposedly) their toddlers, babies and young ones are all at home with....nannies, I reckon.
So they get a weekend to go home and instead of having time with their kids, they....go out and get drunk. Sorrrrry, not believable, Mgmnt. No sell here from this part of the fandom.
But see, this is exactly what many in the fandom seem to want. No kids. Don't care about the kids. Kids wreck everything. That's why no one wants to question anything that looks remotely hinky because that would mean that not only might these guys be lying to them, but that it means it just might be that the J's are indeed raising all the children, and the women are strictly beards.
This would ruin about 4-5 years of a huge narrative that these four have been able to get away with all this time.
I don't know, but for the first time since I can remember, I've had more beards on my twitter timeline than I can ever remember.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. Lots of posts to catch up on. I was on vacation for awhile, and then things were kind of crazy when I first got back home. This is the first day with downtime I've had in over two weeks.
I don't know if it's been mentioned in earlier posts, but all the awful stories about Harvey Weinstein has had me thinking about all aspects of Hollywood, including how it treats its gay actors. It's just a rotten system all around, especially how they circle the wagons and protect all this abhorrent behavior. Sigh. Your recent posts fit right in with that.
Boy that whole thing with Liya is very strange. And yeah, I wouldn't trust anything from Page 6--even if you had found an actual bit from 2 years ago. One of the stories to come out about Weinstein is how he gave false stories to Page 6 about women who turned him down.
I also find it a bit strange that the Calvin Klein ad would use him as a model and give him a fake family, as opposed to using him as a celebrity. Although I have to say it is sure a gorgeous one. He looks good in black & white photos.

And we did just update with a new post - I put up a fun post (for once, ha!) because usually we get so gung ho on all the drama.
The Calvin Klein campaign should be starting soon - supposed to start in October and we'll see what the first looks like. As I watched all the robot tweet headlines, I have no doubt there were a couple of goals, #1 to keep emphasizing how Jake is posing as a dad and he's not a dad yet, but just imagine how he would look if he WERE a dad and #2, no doubt he and Austin can use all the income they can get.
It's not just all the kids. It's their lifestyle. I think these guys are traveling a lot, they stay overseas now a lot or else up in Canada as well. Not sure what they do - timeshares, rentals, whatever, but all this traveling costs a lot of money. Home schooling. And as all these kids continue to grow, the clothes, the cars each one is going to need, the insurance, holy toledo.
They eat at the finest restaurants, stay at the nicest resorts/hotels (not all can be company paid, surely), I mean....I don't know what it's like because I'm just an admin, but I am familiar with financial planning & whatnot. I can't imagine having to keep up the kind of income they must need.
