Monday Musings: Austin Nichols Returns to the CW and Pick a 1D Card, Any Card

Well, well, well, well, while Austin was working out the hiatus rustiness in the Big A and Big N of his autograph signature this past weekend at the Walker Stalker London con, he was harboring a secret which would later reveal itself in an interview while in Big Ben country.

Whooooooo!  How about those apples?  While it is not clear yet the when and where (specifically),  we do know more about the what and who.  The show will be called In the Dark and Austin will star opposite actress Perry Mattfield.  Perry will play a blind woman who is the only witness to the killing of her 'drug-dealing' friend.   When the police don't pursue her story, she and her dog Pretzel try to find the killer.  Austin will play a cop in the show.  Kathleen York and Ray Donovan's Derek Webster also star.  Deadline source

That lil' sneak, eh?  And so that's the good news.  The bad news?  It's on the CW.

Ohhhh, and look at this.  Perry Mattfeld's scarce history includes:

A member of The University of Southern California World Famous USC Song Girls.

Sports Illustrated Featured Dancer/Cheerleader, University of Southern California [May 2014].

With Austin also being a USC alum, I think his personal assistant may already be packing his trainers, muscle tank and sneakers, what do you think?  LOL.    Well, now the extended sabbatical holiday takes on some added understanding, it would appear.

Well, it was nice being able to enjoy Austy for a short while, wasn't it?

LOLLLLL!!

Yup, yup, yup.   Anyway, here's a really nice interview that was posted today.  He is very enjoyable here. Our feast would appear headed towards a pushing away from the table and self-inflicted diet, however.  After all, we've been through this before with another USC alum - Sophia Bush.

Jake Gyllenhaal is about to end his sabbatical holiday extended hiatus and begin work on his Netflix movie, Velvet Buzzsaw.  Filming will take place in Los Angeles and the cast had several new additions announced today, including John Malkovich.

So, will be interesting whether it will be Jake or Austin balancing that 9 to 5 and daycare.  Big Sis likely won't be around to help too much this time around as she should be beginning filming The Deuce.  Perhaps the matriarch Mama G may be drafted into more hands-on service???

While allegedly Jensen Ackles was celebrating his 40th birthday (yet again!) with a supposed Vancouver no-phones-allowed bash organized by his beard, Danneel Harris Ackles, we do have the 1D men all busy and highly visible.  Brief highlights are as follows:

• Niall Horan won at the IHeart Music Radio Awards last night for Best New Artist and Best Lyrics for his song, Slow Hands.  He was in Dublin performing as part of the Flickr tour:

• Speaking of big winners, check out Louis Tomlinson who remained the last standing for the IHeart Music Radio Awards Breakout Artist of the Year.  Louis fans can take a bow for their daily hard work in voting and the victory is certainly a reflection of teamwork and devotion.

This tweet says it better than any of the "official" ones:

• And where was Harry?  Why, Harry was setting the stage on fire last night in Basel, Switzerland and introducing two brand new songs Anna and Medicine.

Best wishes, Harry, on a very successful tour.  Looks like it's off to a great start!

• And Liam?  Well, Mr. Payno was only meeting the Queen of England today after performing for the Royal family as part of Commonwealth Day.  The meeting today was to honor inspirational leaders as they were bestowed with a Queensleader award.

And who could forget this iconic moment last year with Mr. Payne?

• And Zayn?  Zayn's website crashed after releasing a remix of his newest song Don't Matter, which had been leaked online.  Zayn took control of "matters" and made the song available on his website.

Congratulations to all of the 1D men on their exciting individual endeavors and award recognitions as we all await that day down the road when their collective incredible talent will join forces again to form a literal 1D Juggernaut.

Aw man, sorry about the ending of the I Feel It Coming. I'll see if I can fix that tomorrow. As it is, it's very late and I don't even have time to cross post to tumblr.

Great song by The Weeknd, though. Also, Keith Urban and Cop Car.

The USC connection is certainly eyebrow raising. No coincidence at all. More importantly ol' Perry has a pretty thin resume. She is actually a pom pom girl and apparently a trained dancer, yet somehow was tapped to be in a TV pilot. Hmmm. Sounds like someone willing to do anything to get ahead. Which, of course, is classic material for a beard. #Shameless

Oh, and she'll be 24 soon, which means she fits right in with the cradle robber Austin Nichols image that his "wonderful" team has created for him. Can't wait.

Congratulations to the 1D boys. They are doing great. And, I love how Harry's opening video to his show had a shot out to Louis with the Rubrik Cube, spelling LT. These guys are too clever. And, when he sang "If I Could Fly", and "Sweet Creature" which are songs both about Louis he went to a B Stage to sing them. Get it? Bee stage. Buzz, buzz.
