The Predictability of PR Hacks

With the arrival of Father's Day today and Harry Styles finishing up the last leg of his Pink Tour in North America, we here at Narnia were naturally waiting for the telltale signs of the heavy hand of management to appear.  True to form, Jake Gyllenhaal's Calvin Klein fragrance commercial began airing on television all week and tweets began appearing talking about his child....

 

 

 

 

 

Coincide these subliminal suggestions onto a tandem bicycle built for two with Austin sending himself to Texas just so that he can get his annual haircut on his 10th wedding anniversary, and well....at least we can see that Austin is looking fine and dandy.  Courtesy of their go-to enabling twitter account:

[Again, June 16th, 2008 was the first day that licenses for same-sex marriages were issued after the ban on them was overturned by the Supreme Court of California (May 15). At that time, Maggie, Peter, the matriarch, and Jake are all seen in LA as if the family is congregating (and not just for a Brothers screening). OK! magazine has come out with a story entitled "Reese Ready to Wed!".  And as for Austin? Well, a twitter mutual of mine happened to see Jake and Austin having brunch together at Coogies in Malibu, CA the weekend before June 16.  All of these signs (in addition to a few others) narrow down to a legal nuptial ceremony on June 16]

It's a day late, but Happy 10th wedding anniversary to Austin and Jake!  And Happy Father's Day. It's possible today could be a Nichols/Gyllenhaal/Stovall Father's Day quadruple celebration.

Then with Harry being as gay as he can be on and off stage, Management decided it was time to allow Louis Tomlinson to appear at the Delaware Firefly Music Festival on Friday and Saturday, with beard in tow. Prominently documenting that even though he was just one hour away from Harry's concert in Hershey, PA, he had no desire to support his former bandmate in anyway. The media narrative that Louis and Harry are no longer together once again repetitively reinforced by the "girlfriend" appendage. It's always hilarious to see Louis out and about with the "girlfriend". Inevitably surrounded by his lads  (phalanx of protectors), Calvin, Oli and this time, Luke (aka "Hot Luke") Malak, with Eleanor tagging along like the fifth wheel that no one needs or wants. These "candid" moments not surprisingly as fake and awkward as the ersatz couple's first public outing in September 2011. That's right. This farce has been going on for seven years! What a waste of money. What a waste of time. Predictable and pathetic. Add in the sour tasting tidbit that the "fan" who took the up close and personal pics this weekend just happens to be a Eleanor/Louis shipper...well let's just say that the "coincidences" keep piling up, don't they?

Not to be outdone, Harry's team made sure to roll out Harry's male beard again this weekend, Xander Ritz. Forget the fact, that Sony/Syco already has Harry shackled to his own stunt girlfriend. Because remember that the public narrative from Harry's homophobic team is that he is a womanizer and apparently a manizer, because hints have been spread for sometime now that Harry just might be bisexual; the "Anybody but Louis" meme as strong as ever. Never mind the obvious attempt to remind those pesky Larries that the scuzzbucket introduced to the fandom in 2015 to sell the idea that Louis and Harry had broken up is still very much around. Well, of course he is since the guy is buds with Jeff Azoff, Harry's manager. How interesting that 2015 was the same year that Sony/Syco saddled Louis with a one night stand fake pregnancy stunt. But, I'm sure that was just a coincidence....NOT!

One thing for sure, no matter what stunt Harry is burdened with he always seems to be able to turn the situation to his advantage, especially while he's on stage. Whether he's wearing that blue bandana the fandom has associated with Louis since 2014 during a pre-concert break, 


 

or shouting "Happy Pride" to an enthusiastic and colorful crowd, he never ceases to undermine the fake narratives that continue to be promoted by a tone deaf management team and music label.  

 


On Saturday night, for instance, he trended for hours on Twitter because of a certain act of rebellion that social media was enjoying thoroughly.



 

You tell 'em, Harry. In the end, PR hacks can be as predictable as they want to be, but somehow despite the noise, despite the lies, despite the personal vendettas of small minded corporate types another message is coming through loud and clear. A message that is being heard and embraced by anyone with eyes to see. Which is really all that matters.

I'm not ragging on Austin or Jake much at all today. Because the whole family very well could have spent the weekend with Austin's dad. That is a nice thought, isn't it? I think so.

Jake just turns the reins over to his publicist and tells them to take care of it, I think. Poses for some pics and that's about it. Austin was the one who made the one hour road trip to visit his barber shop. Whether or not he really visited yesterday, who knows and who cares. An hour drive isn't that much and the guy hasn't worked since March anyway, lol, so a few hours on a Saturday wouldn't be that bad.

Ten years is a milestone. That's pretty good considering the length of Hollywood marriages these days.

Congratulations, Jake and Austin.

What is the gift on your tenth anyway? Brick? Cinder block? LOL!

Well, another work week ahead. I wish I could stay up and watch Life With Father which is on Turner classic Movies right now. It's a long movie tough and I'll never make it, lol.

ha ha ha, I ended up seeing Life With Father clear to the end. That movie is like Ghostbusters, Meet Me in St Louis, or any Seinfeld episode. If it comes on, I don't care where in the show I come in, I'm going to watch it.

This is hilarious. This 'gossip bit' just appeared on Twitter tonight and it's really hardly worth reposting, but I think helps to reaffirm my feeling that the guys have been in TX.

Romance rumors are hitting Jake Gyllenhaal and "The Crown" star Vanessa Kirby, but they are quickly being shut down.

Page Six reported that the duo had lunch at La Mercerie inside Roman and Williams Guild, and the lunch date was "cozy looking."

"It was touchy-feely. She was touching his hair," a source said. "They were sitting on the same side of the table."

The two costarred in "Everest" in 2015.

Friends of the couple, though, say this is much ado about nothing, claiming the actress is dating actor Callum Turner. In fact, a source close to Jake said the two are just "pals." A source close to Vanessa said, "Vanessa is a very tactile person. She is happily in a long-term relationship … it was just two friends catching up."

Jake has long been one of Hollywood's most eligible bachelors, having been linked in the past to Taylor Swift, Rachel McAdams, Alyssa Miller, Reese Witherspoon and Minka Kelly.

I guess Page Six had the same feed. And to have to go back to Everest to find someone to attach his name to, that's just.....pfft.


It is so hot here - nothing but 90's. And I remember this past freezing winter, I said I would not complain when summer came. But I'm ready for autumn already, lol.
