30 Days of Toothy Tile, Grey Goose and the Baby Tiles - Honorary Day 32

Good Mooooorning!!!

On this 27th day of January 2019, we at Narnia thought we would re-visit one of those convoluted, what-in-the-hell days of Jake and Austin lore.  This moment definitely belonged in the 30 Days of Toothy Tile, Grey Goose and the Baby Tiles post although to this day, the 18th of February 2012 remains an unsolved mystery.

The day began with new released pictures on I Heart Jake of Jake at JANA Hair Class Salon in Germany.

Really, this first one sums up the entire outing, but we'll add a couple more anyway.

The ever-familiar arm-flapping, "outraged" Jakers whom we've all come to know and hold dear after all these years,

Disturbed from a rough and tumbled, I mean rumpled sleep, Jakers?

That is some serious bedhead, is it not?  ;D  ANYway........whenever new pictures were released on IHJ back in the day, it never took long for word to be leaked on Oh My Godot blogspot.  By 2:05 pm Eastern Time, Prairie Girl (moi) had mentioned in the comment thread that there were new pictures of Jake getting a haircut and had anyone else seen them. Mr. Paranoia.

And he had friends with him.

He is with staff (security, driver?) from the festival at the hair salon. The car has the official logo and the guys have a coordinated uniform and the official Berlinale logo on the scarf.

Jakers leaving JANA Hair Class Salon Feb 2012

Ol' M&M (my partner in crime) was having none of it.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is another staged "Oh, my god, I'm being harassed day and night by the paps" photo op. Similar to the Yom Kippur nonsense. The Ritz Carlton is a luxurious 5 Star Hotel with top flight amenities and impeccable service. No one can convince me that Jake could not have had that haircut done in his room if he was so concerned about being photographed. Give me a break. I believe he is trying to set the foundation for his uber privacy in the months, maybe years ahead. I'm not buying it.

And the Grand Poobah made an astute note:

From the pictures it looks like Jake spent more time peeking out of the windows and looking than getting his haircut.

I don't know I still think he wasn't alone in there.

OMG was heavily trolled and the conversation board was very busy with comments and observations.

I agree with you on that one SK. He is a little too irritated. Plus hello does he look like he got a haircut to anybody else or is it just me.

Indeed, Tom.  If Jake had just gotten a haircut, why was he wearing a beanie out of the salon?  Who puts a cap on their hair as soon as their hair is trimmed, gel'ed, mousse'd, tossed, spiffed and blow-dried?   A few more details were revealed.

There is [a] German post that say[s] that Jake arrived by chauffeur to the Jana salon and driven right to the front door. The post says the salon appeared opened just for him. And they mentioned as well he covered his head with his hat just after supposedly getting a haircut.

Jake was staying at the Ritz Carlton (aaaah, memories of the ol' Club Lounge Baby Tile sighting!) and the JANA Hair Class Salon was, as Google Maps demonstrates, only a 2-minute walk.

Well, look at that.  Hmmmm.  The plot thickened.

Another commenter noted that the closing Berlinale ceremony was held at 7 pm, meaning that just a few hours before the festivities, Jake decided to get a haircut.  Not only get a haircut, but promptly smash it down with a beanie.

And then?  Someone noticed an interesting person in one of the photos.

Someone in a plaid shirt much like the type Austin used to wear during the One Tree Hill era, with sleeves rolled up much like he did at the time.  And a kind anon provided side-by-side comparisons.

Ohhh???

lol.

One other important note to make which M&M had made at the time in her grand summary as only M&M can do:

One more thing hit me last night. The implausability of a high end Salon opening up just for Jake in the middle of a Saturday afternoon. Here's why:

1) We are informed this event took place at 12:00 noon. The Jana Eichler Friseure hair salon, however, opens at 10:00 a.m. on Saturdays. If all Jake was doing was getting a haircut, but still wanted privacy, he would have made arrangements before the
Salon opened to the general public.
2) If it was a last minute whim, it's also hard to believe that Jake would call the salon and ask them to usher everyone out in addition to canceling afternoon appointments. Talk about drawing attention to oneself.
3) This is a high-end salon, and it was the closing day for Berlinale ceremonies. I'm sure Jana was double booked for the special occasion. No way would the Salon alienate clients by closing up shop in the middle of the day. They would have recommended coming over to Jake's hotel room instead.
4) Looking at our anxious "customer" in those pics, I see bed head Jake. Which then tells me it's early in the morning. If that's the case, this scenario might even lend more support for the argument that something happened in the hotel room calling for an emergency opening of the salon before
it's establish hours of operation.
5) If the event actually took place early in the morning this set of circumstances might have then contributed to Jake being less risk adverse and thinking he would be able to avoid the paps.

So while Jakers was busy keeping door-watch and waving his arms around, standing around instead of in a chair,

and acting irritated, there was someone else in the salon likely getting the unplanned haircut with the Mystery Plaid Shirt Guy nearby because....these are exactly the kinds of "exciting" events that happen with kids, when you least expect it.

and two parents....panicked???

And what was that about Jake standing around instead of sitting in the salon chair?

In one of those prime Exhibit A demo's of a publicist team's damage control, shall we mention that the next day, on the 19th, new pictures were released.  Here was one.  We reckon they were "missed" the first time around. ;-)

And this is why Mr. Plaid Shirt Mystery Guy belongs in the 30 Days of Toothy Tile, Grey Goose and the Baby Tiles Masterpost.

Happy Sunday, everyone!!
