Like so many times in Jake's best laid plans, he was seen where he was not supposed to be throughout the month of May 2013. The first sighting that kicked off the "Jake's not in New York" sightings came on Mother's Day. Although on this particular occasion it is assumed that matriarch Naomi Foner was nowhere to be found since Jake was spotted in a West Hollywood gay bar.

Nearly two weeks later, Jake was seen in Silver Lake (a neighborhood that LA Weekly had labeled at the time, the true Mecca for young gays in the Los Angeles area).

Then, five days later on Tuesday, May 28 a seemingly harmless tweet appeared, placing Jake at the Ritz Carlton in Los Angeles. At first glance, the location appeared mainstream and unremarkable. But, this time it was not where Jake was located that raised eyebrows, but who was mentioned as being with him.

The ensuing conversation which occurred on the Oh My Godot thread is filled with yet again, a persistent arguing Anon throwing every possible scenario and explanation against the little girl being Jake's child. It bears repeating, I think to provide the link to this entire day of highly entertaining discussion:

Truly a thread to behold. And as someone mentions, as soon as this debate and dialogue began to take place, sightings of Jake in New York City began to appear on Twitter.
What happened next was the icing on the cake.
Here are just four of what seemed like nearly 400 pics that suddenly appeared on IHJ on June 2, 2013, entitled "Arriving at LAX Airport". The photographic frenzy obviously orchestrated to publicly "document" Jake's grand arrival at LAX that Sunday, even though it was obvious he had been in the Los Angeles area at least since Mother's Day. It is interesting to note that this is supposed to be LAX and yet you can hardly see many people around in the photos.
It's quite admirable that Jake can arrive in LA from New York City with a mere backpack and no other luggage, don't you think? I Heart Jake documents Jake as "officially" leaving LA on June 8, so that is certainly some sage and careful packing to get everything into one backpack. ;-)
Looking in the email history of Special K, M&M and myself, one interesting item was discovered, and that is Jake is no stranger to the Ritz Carlton and its Club Lounge.
On Feb. 14 2012, this Facebook mention was made during Berlinale (Jake was serving as a jury member - See Day 21 - Berlinale 2012: )
quick note: Jake Gyllenhaal is here as jury member and I have been seeing him almost everyday at the Club Lounge at the Ritz Carlton....! Not bad.

Another interesting note. Narnia Dispatches has posted before on Greta Caruso and her role in helping Jake out. In light of the recent splashy photo op that Ms. Caruso participated in to place Jake in New York City on Sunday evening, April 23, the night prior to Austin's birthday, it's interesting to look back at The Club Lounge incident and what do we find out?
Remember that we had Facebook sightings of Jake in Los Angeles on May 12 and the 13th, followed by the sighting on May 23. Here is a timeline of the I Heart Jake photo op listings in this time period:
May 6 - Leaving the Met Costume Gala in New York City
May 9 - Leaving a workout in New York City
May 12 - Leaving NYC on a Private Helicopter
May 14 - Leaving the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles
May 18 - Heading to the Gym in New York City
May 23 - Bike Riding in New York City
June 2 - Arriving at LAX Airport
June 6 - At the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood
June 8 - Departing from LAX Airport
Boy. I don't know about you, but I've got whiplash from all of that bouncing back and forth between NYC and LA, how about you?
May 18 and 23rd are the key dates to look at because they're sandwiched between the Facebook sightings at the nightclub and the Ritz Carlton sighting.
And look who helped Jake out on May 18 "Heading to the Gym in New York City" when we now know Jake was really in Los Angeles:
Well, well, well, look at that. I believe that is Ms. Greta Caruso herself. This set of photos was followed by Jake "biking" in New York City:
I don't know, I guess that is why Jake needed to return to NYC for the May 18 pictures because we all know that LA has no gyms. ;-)
Not to lose focus of this Day 25 post, however. The important point is not all of the shenanigans with volleying Jake back and forth between LA and NYC. The reason for the volleying is to hide that Jake was indeed in LA all this time and the Club Lounge sighting highlights how his time was spent: he was with his family. Jake was with one of his daughters at the Club Lounge that May 31 in 2013.

One other thing to remember after going over this "mammoth" post.
And that is that we just have not seen Jake with his niece Ramona when mother Maggie is so far away, so the likelihood of him taking her to LA with him while Maggie stays behind in NYC with Gloria, and while school is going on. It's just not been the pattern at all, nor is it now.
And one more note is that this whole Club Lounge blow-up and the subsequent discussion on OMG ended the era of Jake participating in frequent photo ops in NYC. Perhaps his people grew tired of him being caught so often because this was not the only time it happened. Jake's photo ops ever since have diminished greatly and also, the Sarsgaard/Gyllenhaal girls are very rarely seen anymore as well.
Another thing which changed that I can recall now. It used to be that there were several search engines you could use for Facebook. There was a site called WhoTalking where you could search Facebook like Twitter, but if you go to WhoTalking.com now, and try to search Facebook, you'll get a message that says Facebook has stopped the topic search function. I just think it's much more difficult to search FB, but if you notice, during the time period of the Club Lounge, several of the sightings of Jake in LA did come from Facebook.
