When Jumping the Train Track Might Not Be Such a Bad Idea...

For anyone who follows Jake or has Netflix, you know that his latest flick Velvet Buzzsaw was released on Friday, Feb. 1.  Many of the reviews have not been raving endorsements, in fact Vanity Fair's was surprisingly harsh.  The majority of twitter reviews from customers have been as bad as they were for Enemy.

When the promo began for Velvet Buzzsaw on Twitter, this was the focus:

Outlets like The Advocate, Queerty.com, and Out highly touted how Jake's character was going to "go gay" again.

Well, and he was in the beginning of the film.  Long enough for Jake to be in all his naked glory with his boyfriend of color, but with the arm of a chair between them. ;-)  The remainder of Jake's time in the movie was best summed up in this tweet:

More frank:

Still, despite the negative reviews and comments about Velvet Buzzsaw as a whole, there were viewers who enjoyed Jake's individual performance and/or abundantly displayed "aesthetic assets".  Will that be enough to salvage the success of the film?

Unfortunately, our Jakers seems to be on an individualistic streamliner, a locomotive that knows only one track.  This lone tweet sums it up in less than 140 characters.

Folks are getting on to you, buddy.  And if this train doesn't slow down and make a stop to think about the track that it's on, well...

At least there will be the saving grace, Spiderman, Far From Home.

Not good at all. The vast majority of tweets from viewers on VB are very negative. Many didn't finish the film. Hopefully some of his future projects do better because Okja didn't do well at all, nor did Stronger. Nor did Wildlife.

There is a common theme just like the last tweeter in the post said - some kind of quirky trait or angst for Jake to work out in the film. There's got to be yelling. Violence. Blood. Dead animals. More yelling and popping blood vessels.

That seems to indicate some kind of inner frustration and pent-up anger inside that he needs to work out and he's taking the therapist couch onto the film set. Viewers are just along for the ride.

And yet Sunday in the Park With George was so beautiful. I don't get it.

You forgot Demolition, PG. The box office gross for that one was only 1.9 million.

Cathartic is the word, alright. He has been using movie scripts since he signed with Endeavor to work out personal issues and his own frustrations. Imagine having the bravery to take the part of Jack Twist, and play him with such sensitivity and authenticity to acting in a movie where he tries to promote himself as bisexual (because it's trendy), but then is only seen when a female. Cliche gay is right!

I will say that I loved his look in the pictures I've seen from the movie. Love the glasses, loved his facial expressions. Really cute.

And these flops have occurred in the last 2 years, yet he is asked to be a villain in a MCU Spiderman movie. It's called the reward system for closeted actors in Hollywood. You continue to get parts as long as you play the game. And, all those other baby gays will take note to remind them to stay in line...or else.

It could have been something. I would love to see a movie about the art world. About the kind of art world that Sister Wendy saw. Maybe a movie can't be made about that aspect? I don't know. But I enjoy that part of art. My brother teaches high school art and he loves creating. He makes us all kinds of great pottery. He's made scarves and paintings and he still loves learning new techniques. That's passion. And his students really enjoy his class.

I know that Jake loves going to museums because he's been spotted at them before and remember there was that Jake/Baby Tile sighting in Los Angeles at the Getty on Valentine's Day morning.

From somewhere on the Internet far, far away...

“but I did spy Jake’s mother chatting with Jeanne Cadieu.“

Riiiight. #Pants meet #Fire

This is more confirmation that another “Jake” blog has been compromised. Jake can’t even be bothered doing a pap walk with his beard. He’ll do one over at his home in France, but not the States? Hmmm..

We’ll see if Jake and Austin can drum up an official pap walk together with their beards with lots of pictures on Just Jared and I can ditch my tumblr counter which says it’s going on five years since they have stepped out together for an arranged, professional photo op.

What do you think? Think they’ll step out together with their beards, a la George Clooney and Rande Gerber? A la Jennifer Anniston/Jason Bateman? A la Jensen and Jared?

Maybe dinner for four at Jake’s pap free condo? Just make sure to hide the Captain Crunch and the sippy cups before posting the Instagram stories, fellas.
;-)

Stay tuned.....

We've had a little IT glitch and our links have disappeared at the top of the page, but we will get them back up at some point. Apologies!

Boy, there is just so much going on right now, isn't there? This Bezos, Sanchez beard, and Patrick Whitesell (Jake's agent) is getting allllll kinds of intriguing. I think the scandal & extortion thing going on with Bezos is beginning and going to expose some things that Whitesell isn't going to want out there.

And because Whitesell is Jake's agent, that puts him and Austin in some of the worst possible company they've ever been in.

Anyway, sorry for the glitch but we'll get those direct links back up.

Technical glitches!!

And now PG has botched it up again! Our picture and blog title are gone and me & M&M have already wasted an hour trying to fix it. So in order to preserve my sanity and me and M&M's friendship (LOL - because I'm like a powder keg about to go at any minute), we're leaving it alone for now.

Blogger is cool, but it is not necessarily always user friendly and it does stupid things sometimes.

So sorry about this! At least the blog is still here. LOL!

Fortunately, PG and I are opposites temperamentally. *grin*

And because I don't mind sharing this, there's actually a third Saved the Day because last night while we were on the phone going over things, I stupidly and accidentally locked my bathroom door when I wasn't even in there! I don't know how that happened, but I was ranting & raving on the phone while M&M was calmly trying to ask me if I had something to pick the lock with.

And I wasn't really open to the idea, but I begrudgingly picked up this old antique shoe lace/button thing I had which had a hook on the end. And I picked the lock! Picked the lock on the door like a common criminal.

If I would usually just shut up and listen, a lot of ranting/raving would be eliminated.

It's been a challenging couple of days.

So anyway, sorry for all the blather. Will now work on the post. Probably won't get it up until this evening at this rate.

Remember that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Try a different approach, if the direct one is not working.

Or, you can do what PG does and be incredibly entertaining.
