Shevine Saturday: Wistful Levity and Floof

lol.  Well, we've had a good amount of Fluff on our Shevine Saturday's thus far, along with a few 👀👀 moments.  Time for some levity as well!  And this video is just what the doctor ordered.

Today's video is entitled "Shevine:  Crack Video" and was splendidly executed by IronicPheasant, with snippets of video moments followed by an excerpt from a song whose lyrics are a fitting reaction to the particular moment.  The technique reminds me of a record from way back in the day called "Convention '72" by the Delegates.  I'll include it in the playlist although likely no one will have a clue on the subject matter.  LOL!

Many of the selected song snippets are perfect, including my personal favorites of "Why You Always Lying", the chirping crickets, "Fix You", "The Sound of Silence", "Can You Feel The Love Tonight", "Shut Up", and "You Can Leave Your Hat On".  IronicPheasant coordinated the video and music selections perfectly.

And love the name chosen -  Crack Video, which certainly attracts one's attention.  This video is one of the first Shevine works I ever watched and has always been a favorite on the playlist.  It's just a funny, entertaining six minutes.

Let's look at some pictures and gifs of these two.  Their chemistry was undeniable, wasn't it?

The white T is the best, but the black tank ranks right up there

Blake looks great in a cowboy hat!

The only photos I see of Blake in a western hat are old ones when he had his mullet.  The photo above seems to be a rare one of him in a cowboy hat with no mullet.  Wonder why he doesn't wear one anymore?  Kind of interesting.  Maybe not that many country artists wear cowboy hats anymore?  I'm not an avid follower of country music today, so forgive my lack of awareness.

 nice suit!

Boooooooo, my sentiments exactly LOL

no boo'ing here! 😍

Listen to Shakira - she knew

Adam in 2007 - hard to believe, isn't it?

These two men have some of the most outstanding smiles, no doubt about it!  Full of personality.  And each individual has had some enjoyable talk show interviews.  Early videos of Blake guesting on Jimmy Fallon are hilarious.

This is funny and peak Blake and Jimmy.  The Voice clip at the end has Blake doing a pretty good Billy Idol imitation.  If you just watch (or used to watch) The Voice, it's different to see Blake in a talk show setting where he's actually funnier.

😂😂

Aaaah, vintage though, isn't it?

Mr. Bojangles – written by Jerry Jeff Walker

I knew a man Bojangles and he'd dance for you
In worn out shoes
With silver hair, a ragged shirt, and baggy pants
The old soft shoe
He jumped so high, jumped so high
Then he lightly touched down

I met him in a cell in New Orleans I was
down and out
He looked to me to be the eyes of age
as he spoke right out
He talked of life, talked of life, he laughed
clicked his heels and stepped
He said his name "Bojangles" and he danced a lick
across the cell

He grabbed his pants and spread his stance,
Oh he jumped so high and then he clicked his heels
He let go a laugh, let go a laugh
and shook back his clothes all around

Mr. Bojangles, Mr. Bojangles
Mr. Bojangles, dance

He danced for those at minstrel shows and county fairs
throughout the south
He spoke through tears of 15 years how his dog and him
traveled about
The dog up and died, he up and died
And after 20 years he still grieves

He said I dance now at every chance in honky tonks
for drinks and tips
But most the time I spend behind these county bars
'cause I drinks a bit
He shook his head, and as he shook his head
I heard someone ask him please

Mr. Bojangles, Mr. Bojangles
Mr. Bojangles, dance
