Yesterday's Leftovers: Now Serving "More of the Same" from Jake Gyllenhaal, Travis Kelce, and Co.

😄 Some things (behaviors, actions, traits) don't change.  There may be a long lapse in time in between or maybe even a brief reprieve.  But eventually? Here it comes again.  #Same old thing.

Lately, Narnia has been seeing alot of the #SameOldThing.

  

 

 

 

 

 

 

* What at first looks like it could be an organic social media moment ...

but nope!   Just another ploy to shoehorn in the bearding because it was allegedly "her" chair and that's the first thing Travis Kelce mentions, along with the ol' Easy Bake Oven sourdough slip-in.  When you know, you know.    #orchestrated  #SameOldThing

 

*  When this red carpet waltz was witnessed Thursday, Feb 5, for the NFL Honors, Narnia's minds were blown, but then it filled in so many blank puzzle pieces.  

This is Kay Adams, formerly of Good Morning Football on NFL network (back when it was entertaining), and now hostess of the podcast, "Up and Adams".  She's had her share of exclusive moments and high profile guests on the show.  And who's walking alongside Adams?  Well, that's Jacquelyn Dahl, Patrick Mahomes' marketer, whom Narnia has written about before, particularly in featured depth in our post "Winter/Spring Musings:  Same as it Never Was - NFL Marketing in the Midwest, part 5A of 5", from April 13, 2020.  Dahl's company, 1Up Sports Marketing represents Kay Adams.

 

Kay began auditioning for her podcast along with its many high profile guests by showing that she would help play along with narratives, in January of 2022, when her playoff "game ball" went to Donna Kelce. The stated reason given for the publicized gesture was for Donna Kelce having attended both Jason and Travis' games on the same day.  It was an elaborate, highly chronicled day for Donna Kelce, which seemed geared more for promoting Mrs. Kelce on commercial flights instead of opting for a much easier ride on Airshare, the private jet company which partners with Patrick Mahomes (and which Travis surely has ridden on plenty of times?? 👀)

 

 

Instead, the hectic day of public flights and transfers provided the opportunity to stage an elaborate social media play-by-play to chronicle how Donna Kelce was able to "logistically" attend both games. Coincidentally, captured by plenty of OTT media coverage to dramatize the carefully planned event.

The result was more manufactured headlines, instead of simply choosing to fly in one of her son's BF's company jets. The image of being one of the common folk was achieved, along with the elevation of the Kelce family name prior to the Shifty/Travis stunt which would follow that next year. 😏

More smoke and mirrors.  And more playing along (by Kay Adams) in order to move upward and onward in the business (the reward).   #SameOldThing

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

* If it's time for Jake Gyllenhaal to allegedly be working on a film, then it's time for ...

   •  Blurry or odd looking photos, GPS-placement of Jake wherever he really isn't 😄

   •  "Fan" photos involving Jake holding or entertaining a baby/toddler

   •  And then Austin will also begin posting on Instagram, usually placing himself in Austin, TX, far away from wherever Jake is

In this case, Jake was filming in Georgia for Roadhouse 2.  Look at that guy.  He's something else.  😊  He looked pretty darn good, that scamp!  😉

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

And then his better half Austin?  He was busy posting a plethora of behind-the-scenes photos and Insta vids from his photoshoot and mag cover for Austin Lifestyle!   That guy.  Back in Austin, TX while HIS better half was in Georgia and then later, New York City.

* And by the way, speaking of both these men Jake and Austin, Jake's publicist Mara Buxbaum is still trying to bury Austin as Jake's hubs on DataLounge threads since the beginning of time, this one coming in a recent James Van Der Beek post, allegedly by an "Anonymous":

* Well, it's NFL's off season and even though no one was really wondering what Patrick Mahomes was doing besides rehabbing his "injured"??? knee, TPTB felt it necessary to bring out the long-time-no-see meard, Gehrig Dieter.   Imagine that, bringing Dieter out of mothballs like this.  In this case, it was a 2-for-1!  Need to make sure no one thinks Patrick and Travis are hanging out together, heaven forbid!  Let's bring in TWO meards.

 

 

Hey "Chase Snyder" makes a valid point.  Dieter is to Patrick what "Ross Travis" is to Travis.

They're both meards, Chase!  #DoubleDuh  😉

Complimentary editorial:  Over the years, Narnia's faves or (guests of Narnia) have developed almost as long of a list of meards as beards.  

They've become quite the thing:  Gehrig Dieter, Ross Travis, Tyler Posey, NJ Devil hockey player Timo Meier, Misha Collins, trainer Brad Gould, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Blake Shelton, Tom Holland, Xander Ritz, Paul Dano, Nick Payne, Denis Villenueve, Nick Grimshaw, Anson Gordon, Tom Sturridge, and fictional "Emergency!" character, "Chet Kelly".    

Maybe someday Narnia can write up a "Match the Meard to the Meard-ee" puzzle game and offer prizes.  😉

 

* And another day, another One Direction band member asked to talk about their publicly fallen band mate, Liam Payne.  Time after time, pounded nail after pounded nail.  

Typically, when the average person loses a sibling, parent, or close friend ...there is a grieving period and a first year anniversary.  But people don't keep asking a person to relive the loss and continue to talk in depth about it.  Again and again.  Right?  They don't.  Usually there's a refrain from further inquiring which comes from sensitivity for something private and painful.    

Don't. You. Have. To. Wonder.  

Let's see. What is it that Narnia has learned about these time after time, pounded nail after pounded nail topics ...  hmmm.... 🤔

This time, it was Harry Styles.  Hey, he hadn't been asked yet.  So someone new to tap, tap, tap that nail.  Let's work the fans up once more.  Let's have a family member observe another anniversary.  No doubt, there'll likely be time before contracts' end, Sony and Cowell will arrange a few more go-arounds.  After all, we still have that planned Netflix "documentary" with Zayn and Louis for more "on the record" details. "Leawood Man to Stay with Kansas City Chiefs, report says" - via the local Johnson County Post.   Not "Travis Kelce".  But, "Leawood Man".   That Instagram headline was not the Johnson County Post's idea.  No, it came from someone who needed to push that narrative and remind everyone that Travis "lives" in Leawood.  

Remember, Narnia wrote about the "Leawood, KS residence" spin in the March 9, 2024 post, "Pothole Patch-Ups: Rewriting the Narratives of Travis Kelce" and as stated previously, we haven't seen a whole lot about 'Leawood' for awhile.  Maybe what with the possibility (or not) of "nuptials" approaching, TPTB thought it wouldn't hurt to slip in a reminder.  😴  More spinning, more deception. Day 33: While They Were Sleeping

Out of the blue.  You know, PG's archives are a vast wasteland,  both at work and at home, lol.  But BECAUSE of this, they can produce long-forgotten or long-missed oh-my-dog's.  And such was the case with this share.

And so this rainy, cloudy Sunday morning we have ourselves a little gold nugg-ito, one worthy of claiming its spot into position number 33 on The Masterlist of Narnia's 30 Days of Toothy Tile, Grey Goose and the Baby Tiles.   

In our Baby Tile birthday post last October 17, entitled In the Beginning...There Were Two , the following Datalounge comment was used, having been posted by an anon back in 2010:

And so in that comment, there were blanks and omissions that we were left with to fill in on our own.  And what private blog was this the anon was referring to?  Well, now we know.

Huge thank you to the "discoverer" and archivist of the original source from its forum - Myspace.  Narnia has edited the two comments for this post that now find their highly qualifying way into our 30 Days.  Please pardon the explicit word in one of them!

Look at that - 2006.  At the height of everything Jaustin, blind items, awful truths, and the like.  In fact, the incriminating Feb 22 comment was made 11 days after the famous Laker pictures,

and on the same day the infamous bedhead photos were supposed to have occurred.

What seems quite likely was the Datalounge anonymous commenter thought the myspace comment was referring to a Texas location, when no doubt the guys were in Los Angeles.  Myspace was at its height of popularity during this time period and is still operating, just not anywhere near as highly used by the public.  

Many thanks again to our source who gave their green flag as it was not our find or archive to share, even though it was on a public forum.  What a golden nugg-ito.

As Good as a Blind - Toothy Tile Back to His Sneaking Ways?

Well, well, well....a bit of gossip found while taking a rare perusing through DataLounge.  Narnia doesn't shy away from anything, even if it's goss pertaining to Jake doing his own kind of perusing around while in the Big Apple.   While this author never bought the Henry Cavill nonsense, DL is not without a few drops here and there involving pool tables and glass coffee tables that could be worthy of contemplation.  LOL!  But we're still in the Family Hour right now, so we will not delve into that at this moment.

What ye say, Tooth? 

I agree that if Casey Affleck got an Oscar, Jake probably can. But he is cast wrong all the time. He should be a star in the Dustin Hoffman, Jack Lemon vein. Romantic comedy and drama. he tries too hard and it shoes in his performances. He is a turn off to movie goers, and interviews terribly. Everything he says rings false. He is supposedly hooking up with the guy from Younger, Nico Tortorella which makes him a bit more interesting.

Just a sidenote:  Nico Totorella acts in a TV show called Younger, which films in.....New York City.  Hmmmm, that's convenient, isn't it?  Right there in the Big Apple where Tooth, I mean Jake, loves to sell himself as living now.  Complete with a love nest?  

That compound's starting to get a bit crowded, isn't it?  Dog. Mama Matriarch. Big Sis.  Nieces.  Reynolds. Co-Culinary partner, Blake Lively, and Speed Dial Caruso.  Now young side piece? Jake is looking a bit fitter these days.  Perhaps he's more motivated, if you know what I mean? After all, if Austin can have a bit of "fun" with Paul Wesley on the side, then surely Jake can have a "younger" buck to 'digital dance' with on those late night constitutionals with Leo.

Blind Item Reveal #6: Jensen Ackles

There is an almost network show that has been on forever. The lead actor on the show was out to dinner with some members of his church. Apparently the discussion was mainly about the upcoming election and if there was any hope of getting rid of gay marriages. The actor then went on a rant about how he is sick of questions about whether his character is gay and that he would never be supportive of his character being gay because our actor does not want kids to think being gay is normal. Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs, but the fandom is basically based on this, so probably not something they wanted to hear.

Reveal:  Jensen Ackles / Supernatural

Aaaah, and let the fandom angst ensue. But in this case, the blind really doesn't match up with the "revealed" celebrity's behavior for the past several years. September 2014 brought an end to the working relationship between Jensen and William Morris Agency and he signed with Gersh.  The Destiel/Cockles pulse was waning to a feather rate until 2015, when the divining rod pulled a strong 180 in the opposite direction and what has become known as the "Sunset" pictures happened.

 

The "Sunset" pictures (with Jared absent and "unavailable") began a trend which continues today at a baffling teeter-totter rate - back and forth, back and forth; J2 Tough Mudder and date night pics one weekend, Cockles boat ride and You Are Not Alone campaign bathroom videos the next:

 

The back and forth from 2015 to 2016 has been dizzying.  J2 fans are just trying to....

 
Without going into the possible reasons why, what seems to be pretty clear in the past two years is that Jensen does not have any problem performing his part for the Cockles/Destiel fandom, which has been a sharp contrast to previous years.  Basically, the talk (the Enty Lawyer blind) does not match the walk (Jensen's actions). 

So, the next question would be why the blind, if its single goal was simply about his heterosexuality?  And, what was the immediate reaction from fans?  One barometer site to go to for answers is  Spn_Gos, whether or not you agree or disagree, believe or side-eye some of the opinions expressed on the blog.

If you try to go back to the thread discussion where the "Reveal" was posted on Spn_Gos live journal community, it appears to me that it's like jumping into a book halfway through.  The discussion starts with the Moderator making a statement in reference to comments which you can no longer see:

Just as it was the first time this was brought to this site, I am pulling this thread for the following reasons:

1. It does NOT lead to any discussion whatsoever, but just lead to name calling from all sides.

2. As, I mentioned before, CDAN is not a reliable source as stated by the man who runs the site.

And the few comments which follow are...frozen.  Gone are the comments which had started the discussion which were speculating about whether the reveal could really be true or not and then were met with accusations that Cockles/Destiel fans were no doubt responsible.  Even though Enty Lawyer has been proven wrong in the past and "plays the Hollywood game" to a certain extent just like about any other gossip writer (possibly with the exception of Michael K), is he really going to take a "tip" from an anonymous civilian claiming to attend Jensen's church?

Because this blind is not the first time Jensen Ackles has been accused of being homophobic, the Cockles/Destiel segment of the Supernatural fandom seems an unlikely source of the blind tip.  Jensen has been the subject of strong "homophobic" claims dating back to at least 2013 when a fan was rebuffed at a New Jersey Supernatural convention for bringing up the subject of subtext on the show in the sexuality of the character Jensen plays, Dean Winchester.  His conservative upbringing is also well known by fans, but just like the "homophobic" accusations, claims of his being a Republican and this, that and the other have not been backed up with solid evidence.

How about looking at the timing of this blind? The blind was originally posted September 22, 2016, a little over a month after the announcement was made on August 10 that twins were on the way for the Ackles.  One would think the blind wouldn't be necessary to sell the Ackles marriage and family situation, but with speculation on Spn_Gos that a surrogate was being used, PR probably felt some reinforcement of Jensen's 'straightness' was in order.  Particularly, since there were a lack of believable pictures throughout the "pregnancy".  Never mind that there were hardly any photos at all. 

The timing of the Blind Item reveal during New Year's weekend was not odd, in fact the practice of posting reveals over holidays is a common practice with Enty Lawyer.  However, since production on Supernatural ended in mid-December, Jensen has not been photo'd "out and about," except one time during the holiday break. Jared has been portrayed as flying off to Hawaii allegedly with his whole family, but no "pregnant" pic of Genevieve in sight. Conclusion: She wasn't there. LOL! Later, there was an odd grainy photo of the beard with the youngest son posted on twitter. But, as you can see her expectant state is still up for debate.

Here we are in January, 2017, and it looks like closeted Hollywood is still alive and kicking even though strategies and tactics are becoming more and more obvious to the general public.  Gay celebrities not only have to stunt about with beards pretending to be pregnant, but they need to be characterized as expressing homophobic slurs themselves, usually planted via social media by interns who have access to celebrity account passwords, or through agency-approved Blind Item reveals like this one. 

In other words, one of PR's favorite tools is to characterize closeted celebrities as being hostile toward the LGBT community. Examples being Louis Tomlinson's, Bullshit 1.0 and Bullshit 2.0 "tweets", Liam Payne's tweeted "admiration" of Willie Robertson (of Duck Dynasty fame) and his "family values", and brother Jep Robertson and his wife's close friendships with the Padalecki and Ackles' families. Then, most recently, we have Jake Gyllenhaal attending tonight's Golden Globes Award ceremony and being seated at the same table with known equal opportunity discriminator and homophobe, Mel Gibson. 

Hollywood publicity teams need to know that social media operates on a two-way street.  Fandoms today do not accept this kind of intolerant,  hate-filled projection of beliefs and behaviors onto their favorite celebrities. Diversity, multiculturalism and most of all inclusion is what fans respect and support. It's one thing to choose to live one's life in the closet. Another to embrace hate and promote narrow-minded bigotry. The end date of this public relations tactic has long expired. Welcome to the 21st century, everyone.
