Pride Month: Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles, continued Part II

As a continuation of our previous Pride Month post dated June 7, 2020,

https://narniadispatches.blogspot.com/2020/06/pride-month-louis-tomlinson-and-harry.html

we just wanted to add a few more early indicators of Louis and Harry's self-identification with the LGBTQ+ community through the display of the triangle symbol. Louis, in particular, holds a very special place in our hearts for many reasons, from his gutsy and socially woke nature, to his unwillingness to allow others to take away his pride or self respect. Harry may not have sonically asked the epistemological question, "Do You Know Who You Are?" until Coming Out Day last October, but it seems that Mr. Tomlinson already had publicly responded in the affirmative as early as 2010, for those paying the least little bit of attention. And, a 16-year old Harry Styles was not too far behind his fledgling mastermind boyfriend. Someone, who we believe was already being closeted before the X-Factor Live Shows even began on October 9, 2010. (Yes, we happen to believe that Hannah was a beard arranged by Simon Cowell prior to the Live Auditions in July 2010 to provide preemptive cover for an irrepressibly flamboyant Louis Tomlinson.)  And, because both Louis and Harry have always cared so much about others, their determination has continued to empower a multitude of fans to not only embrace who they are, but to learn how to celebrate it every single day.

When there are no triangles to be found, a rainbow will always do.

How about an interlude of fluff to help
illustrate the reality of symbolism.

Ahem, looks like Louis "borrowed" Harry's sweater for that rainbow chair pic up at the top of this thread, doesn't it?

Although we always appreciate a casually plucky Harry Styles, let's end our pride month tribute with probably Louis' loudest shout out to both men's community. A stunning reminder of just how tough and smart Mr. Tomlinson is.  For those who have already purchased Louis' first album, Walls, (and if you haven't, what are you waiting for?), it will not be a surprise to learn that Sony/Syco made sure to use the album's booklet as yet another sick opportunity to advance their cruel and harebrained Babygate stunt. The final page including an intentional facsimile of Louis' handwriting with a "personal" message to a certain four-year old with meant to convince "voluntary" words like "Freddie," "Son," "Love," and "Daddy". That's right, TPTB unwilling to even allow Louis' long anticipated work of art to be unsullied by hetero image clauses.

After years of delay and gun-to-the-head Larrie denials, his much anticipated album tainted by the heavy hand of Record Executives and PR bottom feeders, many performers might have been crushed into submission by now, resigning themselves to their closeted fate. But, Louis Tomlinson is not that kind of man, Not by a long shot. All one has to do is draw a line around his unique pose on the strategically designed album cover to be reminded of his continued defiance. His bravery. And his PRIDE. Ladies and gentleman, the self-proclaimed perfectionist and provocateur, Louis Tomlinson:

Happy Father's Day 2020

Who are the supportive and/or influential role models for many of our OTP men or honorary members of Narnia? We salute these fathers or father figures who have played a part in molding these extraordinary men.  In totally random order,

Niall Horan and his father, Bobby:

Jared Padalecki and his father Gerald:

Jensen Ackles and father Alan:

Liam Payne and his dad Geoff (with extra bonus tweet from today, 06.21 that Liam posted):

Adam Levine and his father Fredric:

Harry Styles and dad Desmond:

Louis with influential and close family friend Robin Twist, Harry's late step-dad:

Eric Hosmer and father Mike:

Travis Kelce and father Ed:

Zayn Malik and father Yaser:

Mike Moustakas and father Mike Sr.:

Jake Gyllenhaal and father Stephen:

Patrick Mahomes and father Pat Sr.:

Adam Lambert and father Eber (there were a good many pics of Adam with his dad, but this was such a nice family portrait!):

Blake Shelton and his late father Richard:

And we wrap up our pictorial with Austin Nichols and his dad, David, (David is on the far right, Uncle Lynn Vermeulen on Austin's immediate left, Aunt Linda Vermeulen Lighthall on sister Ashley's right):

Sometimes can be difficult to find pictures of the fathers.  Many of our OTP men and honorary members are not fathers yet themselves, but some are.  We salute all of them, their dads or the influential members of their close circle today.

The impact and saving grace of organizations like Big Brothers, Big Sisters, the Boys & Girls Clubs, and individuals like sports coaches, youth ministry leaders, big brothers, and uncles when there has not been a biological father for a child to turn to, cannot be thanked and appreciated enough.

Narnia hopes for more Positive Male Role Models for the LGBTQ community, especially during this Pride Month, because never is it more apparent how important it is when we study the entertainment industry and how the men are treated and some of the mindsets which exist.  We hope for more empowerment for our men because they are so deserving.

A Gyllynichols Dozen

12th wedding anniversary traditional - silk and linen
  • silk pajamas, silk boxers, silk tie, silk blindfold, silk sheets
  • linen tea chest, linen robe

12th wedding anniversary modern - pearls, colored gems
  • oysters
  • jade

Jade, like...you know..

Of course, Jake and Austin have known each other much longer than 12 years; after all, they met in 2002 - 18 years ago.

But no one ever says a couple has to put a ring on it.  They chose to, which says a lot about both men.

And so, Narnia says,

"when you find that special someone, you hang onto them" - Austin Nichols at the Return to Tree Hill convention in Wilmington NC, March 18, 2018, on what he learned from his stint playing Julian Baker on One Tree Hill.

Happy 12 years of taking the Big Plunge, Jake and Austin.
