Congratulations to Wentworth Miller, Attitude's Man of the Year 2016

Well, Jake leaves London and Wentworth Miller comes in.  Wentworth came to London to accept Attitude magazine's Man of the Year award at their Attitude Awards which honor and recognize those in the LGBT community who have made an impact in the arts and entertainment field, politics, fashion & style, community service, and sports.

We're going to ignore the fact that Attitude honored The X Factor last year for its Media Recognition Award.  They certainly have their ducks in a row for this year's Man of the Year honoree.

The event was held yesterday, October 10 in London at the 8 Northumberland Avenue facility and was hosted by Alan Cumming.  The recipient of the benefit is Elton John's AIDS Foundation.

Wentworth is on the cover of the newest edition of Attitude magazine and after having seen some glimpses of several quotes, the interview looks quite interesting.  Wentworth is well-spoken and he sounds like a man who is on pretty firm ground.

In a statement from their website, Attitude wrote about choosing Wentworth as their Man of the Year:

The 44-year-old, who publicly confirmed his sexuality in 2013 after taking a stand against Russia’s newly introduced anti-LGBT ‘propaganda’ law, cut through the insincerity of the social media age as he responded to a body-shaming meme with an open letter that came straight from the heart, in one of the most honest and inspiring statements you’re likely to read about someone’s struggle with self-esteem and depression.

Looking forward to being able to see this interview soon and we'll bring more of it to you as it becomes available.  In the meantime, congratulations to Wenty and some of us also are looking forward quite enthusiastically to the return of Prison Break in the spring of 2017, which Wentworth will be starring in.

I saw a piece of the interview on a Tumblr this evening and just the small segment I saw was very good. Wentworth is quite eloquent and he just speaks a lot of sense. I'm so happy for him and hope he doesn't have depression issues anymore.

Prison Break was awesome, particularly the first season. Those characters cracked me up and they were so unique - especially T Bag. T Bag and Abruzzi. Oh man, and Prison Break had Agent Mahone. He was sooo hot. I loved Agent Mahone. So much to love about its characters. Plus the relationship between the two brothers and then Michael and Sara. *sigh*.

Well, back to the old grind tomorrow and not very happy about it at all. In fact, pretty downright crabby about it, lol. I was supposed to have the whole week off, but things changed and so it seemed best not to take the whole week.

Anyway, hello to every one out there. Thank you visitors!!! We appreciate you and well, thanks for coming to check things out.

*sigh*

Well. Better wrap it up. Hope some folks like the selection from Brule. They are a very cool group. This won't be the last piece of theirs I'll play. There already was one used for a post awhile back, but there's a few more. Wait until Christmas music time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The library, the opportunities, the limitless possibilities!!!!!!! So much to look forward to spinning. ;D

Good evening
I happened to notice on the internet, a story about a 28 year old skateboarder who had passed away. And the accompanying picture caught my eye plus his young age, and so I clicked on the story and it was so interesting and sad to read about this young man who passed away today. His name was Dylan Rieder and he had leukemia, passing away from complications of. I'd never heard of him and to be embarrassingly frank, I never paid much attention to skateboarders. We have parks around here, and sometimes you'd see a few kids riding them around town. But watching this kid in these videos, wow. Sooooo smooth. So effortless. It looks like he's flying sometimes. I don't get how he got the skateboard to fly up with his feet and stay close to them? How come the skateboard doesn't just fall to the ground from gravity? Just amazing.

Anyway, I learned about a person today and it was astounding to see so many young people stunned by his loss. They had so much respect for him and his talent. Anyway, may he rest in peace. 28 is just way too young.

Well, it is just nice and pretty quiet still out there in OTP land. Mild nonsense. But I anticipate that to change this weekend. There's the Thinkery event this coming weekend down in Austin TX with the J's and their beards attending. That should be eye roll worthy.

And Austin and his beard are to be at an event tomorrow evening. Withholding comment at the moment.

And then there's Jake's people, massaging out a whole fake relationship from one single photo op, a hug and some eye contact. Geez....lol. I mean, good lord.

Anyway, lunch is up. Ha ha, there was a young fellow sitting at the next table and he was watching/listening to his phone and like some folks do, he was doing it w/o headphones. So in other words, sharing with the whole room. That's always kind of annoying, right? You don't want to listen to other people's videos or whatever.

Anyway, this other employee, lol. He turned around and asked, "You don't have no headphones?"

"Nah, man...." came the answer.

No, you were supposed to take the hint, buddy. LOLLL! You know, I just try to remember to bring my headphones myself and turn on music so I don't have to listen to other people when they get loud or are watching a noisy video on their phone. This guy, he just flat turned around and asked this guy if he didn't have headphones. LOL.

One of my favorite John Lennon songs, PG. I love this Pearl Jam version from the Sean Penn movie, I Am Sam. Eddie Vedder's voice poignanty captures the resigned acceptance of the stripped down lyric about how someone must hide his love away from the world.

Sidenote: Rumor has it that John wrote this song in 1965 about The Beatles' manager Brian Epstein, who was gay and, of course, in the closet. He died two years later from what was officially ruled to be an accidental sleeping pill overdose. The narcotic Carbitral had been lethally combined with alcohol.
