This is just pretty interesting. For someone whose people flood his Twitter search with cries of where is his Oscar and he gets no respect/appreciation, this is not the way I would have thought his people would promote his movie, but what do I know.

And it's kind of a switch, isn't it? Usually it's the female who is imagined w/o their clothes. In that last tweet, it's Jake who is sexualized, not Amy. And of course, add to this the several weeks of Twitter Search saturation about Jake's non-manscaping everywhere by two men: Tom Ford and that writer guy, can't recall his name right now.
News Jake Gyllenhaal Broadway Burn This Postponed to 2017-2018 By Robert Viagas Oct 21, 2016
Producers Stacey Mindich and Jessica R. Jenen announced late Friday that they are postponing the Broadway revival of Landord Wilson’s Burn This, due to what they termed ”scheduling conflicts” with the show’s star, Jake Gyllenhaal.
The show had been scheduled to open March 6, 2017, but is now aiming for its Broadway bow during the 2017-2018 season, they said.
The production had been scheduled to add a special extra distinction. It was to have been the first production to play the resurrected Hudson Theatre in five decades. Located at 139-141 West 44th Street, the Hudson is being restored by the Ambassador Theatre Group, and will become the 41st functioning Broadway theatre.
Hudson owner Ambassador Theatre Group issued a statement saying that although they are disappointed to hear that Burn This will not be proceeding, they will soon announce a new production to relight the theatre in 2017.
Gyllenhaal, seen on New York stages in Constellations and Little Shop of Horrors, had been rumored to star in a revival of the Wilson work, and was confirmed by producers July 19.
The actor will also star in New York City Center’s benefit concert presentations of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s Sunday in the Park With George starting October 24.
According to previous production notes, “At the core of Burn This is Anna, a dancer-choreographer who, up until the unexpected death of her roommate and dancing partner, Robbie, has been consumed by her career. Now in her grief, she meets Pale, Robbie's older brother, who bursts into her apartment to retrieve Robbie's belongings, and ends up staying for a while. Pale is dangerous, sexy, raw and demanding, and he interrupts the course of Anna's existence bringing major changes in her life.”
Burn This opened on Broadway in October 1987, playing seven previews and 437 regular performances at the Plymouth Theatre. Directed by Marshall W. Mason, the cast included Joan Allen as Anna, John Malkovich as Pale, Jonathan Hogan as Burton and Lou Liberatore as Larry. Allen received a Tony Award for her performance.
Isn't that something? Jake no longer doing that long stint. And his play was going to open up that Hudson Theater after 50 years! That was quite a coup for him, wasn't it? But now "scheduling conflicts".
I read about the sudden "scheduling conflicts" for Burn This and had to laugh. Sounds like the misleading Into the Woods narrative back in 2013. There was all this press about how Jake was going to play Rapunzel's suitor, yet if readers paid any attention at all, there was no way he could do the project because it conflicted with his Nightcrawler production schedule that Fall. A schedule that had already been published and talked about as early as March.
Later on, PR tried to cover up the deception by floating the dramatic story that Anna Kendrick was so upset with Jake when he "dropped out". How she texted him with the message, "'You're abandoning me, and I'm never going to forgive you!'" Yeah, right. Sell it somewhere else. Jake's team do this kind of bait and switch promotion for two reasons. 1) Make it seem that Jake is more popular and up for more high profile roles than he is. 2) Make it seem like Jake is working non-stop and therefore can't have any family obligations
Management loves to attack bloggers/civilians who use social media to call them out on their nonsense and accuse them of writing fan fiction about their clients. In actuality, it is Management who makes their stock in trade in fan fic. Classic blame shifting in the hopes no one notices that they are the ones who are actually making sh*t up. Particularly, when it comes to closet cases.
