Who Wants The Oscar More - Jake or his Leadership Team?

This is eye opening and without a doubt, not the first time a celebrity's words have been misconstrued and misrepresented once transcribed into black and white print.  This video is 1:47 - please feel inclined to watch and listen.

Here is the transcribed copy which has been dominating his twitter search:

Jake Gyllenhaal:  Heartbreak Has Made Me Who I Am

Jake Gyllenhaal is opening up about love and heartache, revealing that he believes breakups make him stronger and that revenge is never a solution.

“Right now we are all in one way or another in different stages experiencing heartbreak of different kinds. Socially, politically, in our own relationships,” the actor told ET’s Lauren Zima while promoting his new film, Nocturnal Animals, over the weekend. “Over time, I think it's always those things, when we face them and we look at them, [that] make us stronger.”

“Ultimately, you look back and say, not that you're glad for it, but that it shapes you into who you are,” the Oscar winner continued. “People sometimes ask me if [Nocturnal Animals] is about revenge, and I don't think it's about revenge at all. I don't think that's a solution, ever.”

[edit.]

While the film is already receiving Oscar buzz, Gyllenhaal plays down the hype, saying awards aren’t at the forefront of his mind when he’s making movies.

The Los Angeles native won an Academy Award more than a decade ago, for his role in Brokeback Mountain

“At the time that that happened to me, I was pretty young, and it was an extraordinary honor at that age. It's an extraordinary honor at any age,” he reflected about his win. “It's an incredible community of people. It puts you within a group of people, who you admire.”  source

Sometimes, a decorator adds several flower picks here and there to their Christmas tree for added beauty.  In this case, ET shoves entire shrubs into every gap of what they must have felt was the equivalent of a Charlie Brown Christmas tree.  But, I have to doubt the writer would make this kind of mistake, saying Jake won an Oscar when he really didn't.

Just for one more comparison, here's another slanted transcription from an obscure site:

Jake Gyllenhaal believes the heartbreak he has suffered over the years has made him a stronger person.
The 35-year-old actor has a string of famous exes, including Reese Witherspoon, Taylor Swift and Kirsten Dunst. But while all those relationships came to an end, Jake doesn’t hold a grudge and instead considers the splits as life lessons which have moulded his personality.
“Right now we are all in one way or another in different stages experiencing heartbreak of different kinds. Socially, politically, in our own relationships,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “Over time, I think it’s always those things, when we face them and we look at them, (that) make us stronger.
“Ultimately, you look back and say, not that you’re glad for it, but that it shapes you into who you are.”
[edit]
And while Jake insists he isn’t thinking too much about the Oscar buzz surrounding the film, he remains grateful that he earned one of the statuettes for his role in 2005’s Brokeback Mountain.
“At the time that that happened to me, I was pretty young, and it was an extraordinary honor at that age. It’s an extraordinary honour at any age,“ he said. "It’s an incredible community of people. It puts you within a group of people, who you admire.” - cover media

Past words from the Grand Poobah Special K (owner & administrator of Oh My Godot blogspot) repeatedly spoken to me whenever I would buy lock, stock and barrel some eye brow raising article on the internet about Jake now come back full swing at me like,

But this one is also a little bit different because there is video from ET and then there is the corresponding online article by from the same site.  And there is a distinct difference between the two.  There is right from the horse's mouth and then there's right from the...trough.  It's all right there.

So the question now just might be who really is responsible for this Oscar obsession for Jake?

The fact that the article is still up tells me that the assertion that Jake has already won an Oscar is an intentional marketing tactic. Every year we get hundreds of planted tweets insisting that Jake has been ripped off when it comes to the Academy of Arts and Sciences. We are told that he is the greatest actor of his generation. No one else compares. So I guess WME finally got tired of always being the bridesmaid, instead of the bride and decided to just give Jake an Oscar and maybe no one would notice. Let's face it, what do facts and the truth mean when it comes to the closet anyway?

Frankly, I think both Jake and his Management Team are obsessed with this topic. There's probably some clause in Jake's contract where his team receives incentive pay if they can can achieve the end goal of an Oscar nomination. And, I would not be surprised that Jake wanted that goal in his contract to make sure his people didn't loose sight of the ultimate prize. Too bad Jake is not just interested in making good movies. Now, that would be an achievement.

The internet connection is so awful this morning out here. Coming to you LIVE from Osage Beach, Missouri. I can't use my avatar from Happy Fisherman because the Happy Fisherman is no more, but is now called Jake's Steak & Fish. LOL, what a coincidence, huh? I might have to change my avatar a little later.

So sorry not around this weekend. This has been an annual thing for us forever. Hope everybody is having a very nice weekend. :-)

Wow. I can't believe they printed a blatant lie like that. But then again... I can.
Truly embarrassing.
"Too bad Jake is not just interested in making good movies. Now, that would be an achievement."
So true.

Hey, Clarity. Hope all is well with you. I guess Jake's people are so used to lying for him on any number of issues that they figured why not just throw in another whopper. Of course, other celebrities constantly have their team making stuff up too, but I don't think I've ever seen the conscious effort to state that someone has won an Oscar when they had not.

Even more head shaking is how WME has been distancing Jake from Brokeback Mountain forever. Hence the reason for all of his violent, He-man and het-centered roles, designed to appeal to a straight male global audience. Including the periodic tweet campaigns waged to blame Brokeback for all that is wrong with Jake's image/career. Get real people. Brokeback made Jake's career. Interesting that Jake suddenly showed up at the 2016 Britannia Awards to present Ang Lee with the John Schlesinger Britannia Award for Excellence in Directing. I wouldn't be surprised if Jake's appearance wasn't arranged to plant the seed for this ET article.

Hello!! Back from the Ozarks and re-entering the job today, which was rough enough as it is coming off a day of vacay, let alone from the lake.

We are working on a post, but it's taking a little longer than planned. Not because it's some great piece of writing or re-posting, but because moi got all wrapped up in A Grandpa for Christmas. These Hallmark movies are liable to prevent much from getting done. Almost worse than Royals baseball.

I'm sure folks are busy anyway buying their turkeys and digging out Christmas decorations from storage. :-) I sincerely apologize but hey, at least the music is changed!! Electric Boogie rocks though.

Sure wish we could get anons on here because I would love to hear from y'all. We see you out there and thank you so much for your patience and return visits, new visits, accidental visits maybe? ha ha.

Thank you again for taking a few moments to check Narnia out. Just a tiny blip on the internet where folks are into reading and speculating on the goings on of the HW closet.

:-)
