While Austin Nichols was at the London Walker Stalker convention in early March of this year, he gave a rare interview which was tweeted out the Monday following the con.

The interviewer was Kat Hughes with The Hollywood News. And we found ourselves a bit of a gold nugget.
At 01:55, the interviewer tells him that she has read that he is something of a cinephile. After confirming by stating how much he loves movies, Austin elaborates a bit when Hughes wonders if he just watches "oodles and oodles of films".
"I watch less than I used to because life has gotten really busier"
*ever so slight pause*
"working".
And there is a female's laughter coming from off camera, to Austin's side. To which he stops to look at her and insist, "Uh, yes," and then laughs a bit himself.
And he repeats, ""Yeah, life's gotten a little busier at work."
Austin then proceeds to recall how he used to watch 3-4-5 movies in a day as a struggling actor and college student.
"because life has gotten really busier"
Because "has gotten" seems to refer to fairly recent times, let's look at the last couple of years. There were the 15 episodes of The Walking Dead which Austin appeared in from 2015 to 2016. Several of those episodes he was listed as credit only and some others had him on screen for less than three minutes, if that. And five episodes as a guest star on Bates Motel in 2017. And a movie called The Iron Orchard, whose stop-and-go filming last June seemed to drag on and on (Instagram-wise, that is *wink*) despite being such a financial challenge to make, according to actor Lane Garrison. Timely sprinkling of weekend conventions, yes.
And then there were these busy times. For instance, busy movie-going in January of 2017,
Working out in March while campaigning for the ex-beard Bennet,
Surfboarding time in August!
And being "hungry"
And that alleged vacationing in Portugal with the meard ALSO in August...
Valentine-ing in February this year just prior to the London Walker Stlaker, placing himself in Austin TX
Allegedly listening to music with current beard Hassle at Austin City Limits in October,
And hammock swingin' in October,
Also swingin' last month,
And smoochin' with the beard on....well, look at that. Right on his birthday. ;-)
Yup, one can see how it may have been challenging to fit in movie watching, Austin.
So I wonder what Austin could have been doing all those years, if his seemingly innocuous comment that he had been too busy working to watch movies was met with instantaneous laughter by his female companion? Let's seeee. What could it be that was preoccupying his time?
Author's note: We would have granted busy-time credit for a film that Austin was alleged to have done last year with Paul Wesley entitled "Isabel", but when the flick doesn't even appear on Austin's IMDb nor does it have an IMDb of its own......

Just classic. A great little nuggito. And the way Austin looked at her and insisted, "Uh, yesss." Loved it.
Great interview, though. Really enjoy watching it back when it was first tweeted in March. And it was tweeted the Monday following the London Walker Stalker. Austin's new role in his new CW pilot was announced in this interview and Austin was immediately GPS'd in Toronto. And remember he then was said to be late to the One Tree Hill con that next weekend due to his filming.
Who knows when he really filmed that pilot. I don't think it was the cause of his being late to One Tree Hill on that Saturday. I think he wanted time with Jake and the kids and stole 24 hrs before coming to Wilmington.

The Royals lost tonight to the Orioles. We scored 6 runs; that ought to be enough to win a game, but oh no.
And yes, it is the Jimmy's Egg avatar!! I hate to let go of my Harold Hecuba pic in homage to Jake, but it's only for the weekend as I head down to the Big W tomorrow. My niece is graduating and it's Mother's Day and we have two birthdays as well to celebrate. My bank account is saying ouch, ouch, ouch! And I haven't even stepped foot in Wichita where I always greatly contribute to their local economy.
I wish we could make it to Jimmy's Egg this weekend. The kids always sleep in too late for us to make them before they get really crowded. We'll see.
Not sure if a new post will make it up this weekend; I kind of doubt it. But it's always possible. We frequently always have some kind of down time at one time or another.
