Just Another Saturday Morning in the Larrie Fandom

At 4:01 a.m. PST in The Sun (England) the following story broke on several social media platforms and at 4:14 a.m. PST on TMZ (Los Angeles) - March 4, 2017:

The Sun's headlines:

Louis Tomlinson Arrested for 'attacking a photographer' at airport with girlfriend Eleanor Calder

TMZ's headlines:

Louis Tomlinson arrested for attacking Paparazzo

Many of us who follow the celebrity closet are well aware that LAX has secret corridors, private entrances/exits and premium security lines to shield VIPs from airport photographers. How many times, for instance, have Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles arrived and departed from LAX without anyone knowing?  Yet, when they want to be seen, they most definitely are.

This morning's sensational headlines offer a vivid reminder that the public [that means us, everyone] was definitely meant to see what unfolded. This theory is supported by the appearance of a video that dropped conveniently from Radar Online around 12:00 noon.  PST (approximately 8 hours later). Because, of course, there would be a video.

So here comes the question that must be asked. Real or Stunt? Well, let's ask a few questions first because that will help us to more accurately answer the first one.  What purpose does all the public drama serve? Who benefits? Whose agenda is being advanced? In response to the first question that might be a mixed bag. Right now, the story that is being told reinforces the idea of bad boy, out of control, serial heterosexual dater, Louis Tomlinson. A 'chav' narrative that Cowell and Company have been selling since 2015.   A chav is British slang for someone who is a low class, brash lout. Also, note the costumes, oops I mean matching outfits, Louis and Eleanor were wearing at the airport. Bright blue and easy to spot.

The three girls who are seen in the video supposedly "roughing up" Eleanor are all wearing grey hoodies/sweaters, a color that helps them to recede into the background. Costumes if you will. It's also curious that the pap is either Louis' height or a little shorter.  Louis is a tiny guy, so if you want to convince people that he flipped a paparazzi photographer onto his back, the man can't be too large now, can he? Casting made sure of that.

Also, note that the whole story being told in this video is that Louis and Eleanor are very much a couple (awwww, a rekindled romance). You can even clearly hear Louis call the beard, "his girlfriend." Let's admit that if PR wants to quickly get the point across that Louis is straight and back together with his one true love, what better means to do that than by providing a great visual and audio combo.  Hearing Louis in his own voice say in an emotional outburst (so it must be true) that Eleanor is "his girlfriend", helps to make all factions of the 1D fandom far less hostile towards her.  Maybe even begin to support her and perhaps embrace her out of compassion.  *rolls eyes* Forget all the crap she pulled in the past of taunting and harassing Harry. Making Louis' life a living hell. Calling Louis' boyfriend a r*tard. Making out with Louis in front of Harry. We know she willingly signed on the dotted line back in 2011 and by 2012 happily participated in the brutal closeting of Louis and Harry. And, don't forget how one of her friends is the son of Harry McGee...the other half of Modest! Management. Enough said.

Maybe that explains why Eleanor always comes off publicly smelling like a rose, garnering the headlines instead of her actual celebrity "main squeeze," while Louis is relegated, time and time again, to the role of the subservient, doting boyfriend.

Later in the day, we also discover that the pap photos are from AKM GSI, an agency that has been assigned to Louis' Babygate stunt for over a year. And, for those who are arguing that maybe this was a stunt gone terribly wrong, think again. The Sun got the exclusive and had an elaborate story along with pics of Eleanor, selling the fauxmance and providing a stroll down heterosexual lane.  That's right. Even though TMZ is in Los Angeles and known for breaking high profile stories, their version came nearly 15 minutes later and was far more abbreviated compared to the well-prepared treatise from The Sun.

Yes, at least for now, Management got what they wanted. A fandom who didn't believe for a second that Elounor 2.0 was legit, or that Louis is cooperating with this redux now are being met with headline after headline about Louis passionately defending his "girlfriend". Which of course, results in sympathy for her, which is exactly what Cowell and Company want. In addition, the repeated headlines help to promote Cowell's other agenda, which is to persuade Larries and others that Louis is self-closeting.  Don't be surprised if this event soon will be used to portray Louis as a mental case instead of the caring, supportive boyfriend, which it easily could be spun to be. Oh, no. Louis is about to be raked over the coals in the media. Maybe a few defenders here and there, but they will be drowned out by the scum who have been hired to tell this tale. No doubt fake baby mama and Freddie Reign will enter stage right, I suspect to provide her worthless two cents of wants "really" happening.  After all, it's time to remind the public again of Louis' "story" as the muckraking continues.

Ultimately what this stunt is really about, is what it has always been about: two young men who fell in love pursuing their dreams on the X-Factor back in 2010 and who want to be free to openly live their lives together, and still make music.

Not quite convinced yet. Well, how about this well-timed, "companion" tweet. Notice how the GPS sighting appeared less than two hours after the news of the Louis LAX stunt hit TMZ's website:

Lady Jenny‏ @jennyholgersson 4 Mar 2017

The tweet representing another key component to Sony/Syco's continuing Hiatus From Hell™ "Separation Narrative". The main clue being not only the timing of the fan encounter, but the elevated, high profile status of becoming her Pinned tweet.

In fact, the drop was perfect, conveniently appearing right before the fandom would get too distracted by the specifics of Louis' chaotic situation.

Louis Tomlinson Arrested for Attacking Paparazzo 3/4/2017 4:14 AM PST

No doubt, Management wanted folks to believe that Harry was overseas and nowhere near Louis. And although a twit pic doesn't prove where anyone actually is in real time, what's important is that this was the official narrative that PR wanted to sell. The same old fame obsessed, narcissistic Harry Styles is far, far away from Louis, living his best life. The separation quite similar to the infamous, pap photos of Harry shopping at Gucci's in London that appeared on December 7, 2016, the day the fandom sadly learned that Louis' mother had passed away. Harry was just a "ray of sunshine" or so Sony/Syco would like to have you believe. Savvy Larries, on the other hand, saw something else completely in Harry's yellow and black apparel.  Buzz. Buzz.

There were, in fact, so many pap photos of Harry from that "carefree" shopping trip that the bombardment was almost laughable.

Point made. Now, in closing, back to our original programming...

The use of the term "girlfriend" by Louis at the airport reminds Narnia of another bearding contract that was, instead of being launched, was about to conclude back in December 2009. The one between Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon. Throughout their two-year fauxmance, no one ever heard Jake refer to her as anything, even though there were 1001 pap photos to document their "coupling". However, two weeks before the farce was over, Jake inexplicably referred to her as his "girlfriend" at a Brothers' press conference in Australia. Almost like that public declaration was a contractual obligation before parting ways. Louis could have easily screamed, "Leave her alone," or "Eleanor, are you okay?" Or, "What's going on over there?" But, no. He distinctly yells, "My girlfriend," for everyone to hear and to be repeated in subsequent articles about the incident. Followed by the highly suspicious occurrence that only Louis Tomlinson was placed under "citizen's arrest" by airport security. That's right. Anyone with even a passing knowledge of how security/law enforcement works in this kind of chaotic situation, when no one knows who really is at fault, everyone would have been arrested, and then details sorted out later. But, not here. Hmm. Even the three girls reportedly roughing up "poor" Eleanor were released, no questions asked.

Just as with Jake Gyllenhaal's "girlfriend" confession, wouldn't it be nice if this head turning stunt was the beginning of the end for Louis' nightmare as well.  Ah, if only. No it's far more likely that this Hiatus from Hell™ has several years left. Probably, until 2020, maybe longer depending on One Direction's Sony/Syco entanglements.

Buckle up everyone. This is going to be a bumpy ride. But, let's all try "not to escape it," and be strong together.

What we are seeing with 1D right now is not just about a behemoth music company going after a group who did not resign with them. In other words, it's personal. Sony/Syco is trying to destroy Louis Tomlinson's career as well as his character. But, most importantly, it is about doing everything they can to prevent two successful performers from coming out. That, after all, would ruin their closeted business model.
