Who needs the naysayers? The source of this eyebrow raising snippet is surprising. Gossip Cop is one of those sources who at first seems to be one to get to the bottom of Hollywood gossip and quick to throw down the gavel on the false. But it shouldn't take long to realize that their written public denials serve just as strong of a narrative-feeding purpose than the actual debunking itself, especially when it comes to one of our faves, Mr. Jake Gyllenhaal.
But back to the subject at hand, which was a post by GC, published yesterday, December 27, entitled "Taylor Swift Top Rumor of 2017: Dating Jake Gyllenhaal Again". Was that a big rumor this year? Somebody remind me because it must have blown through like a micro burst and was gone. No worries though, because Mr. Gossip Cop was ready and willing to bring forth the details, i.e. a rehash of old fabrications.
And while GC acts like Matlock going in for the kill with his throwing around of dates which appear to "prove" the gossip is false, the story leaves Jake in the dust and ends up morphing into a plug for Tay and her latest, Joe Alwyn. source
Funny though, while the author was busy providing the het credentials, he also slipped in a debunking of sorts.
"while he was living in New York City for a stint on Broadway". As opposed to when he hasn't been performing on Broadway, where has Jake been living? But wait, I thought... the pap-proof, "No no no no no no" condo........the vague Manhattan something or other from 2014...the "three-story, cobble-stoned street" home in Tribeca...the "cast-iron" skillet conversion on "Lispernard Street" in 2015...the 2017 farmstead in upstate ...or was that the "burbs" home in upstate...or wait! what about the 2015 "two-bedroom apartment in New York City" rented by Amy Schumer while partaking of old birthday cake while robbing his fridge ..., but I thought it was the cast iron skillet conversion home in 2015? 2 bedroom apartment or cast iron? I'm so confused!
I don't know about anyone else, but my head is spinning from all that moving around. Two Men and a Truck never had it so good. LOL!
You know what? I think I like the way Gossip Cop put it: "while he was living in New York City for a stint on Broadway".
