Bullet Point Saturday Musings: Super 1D Fandom Tactics, "Male Tom" and a Comic Con Baptism





















Whaaaaaa?  But it's only 9 thirty 12:40???  It's too early for Narnia to be posting, what's up with that?  Wellll, but these are bullet point musings, meaning I'm trying to be, I mean they are quick and to the point.  Let's look at a few things that caught our eye this past week. 

• Does anyone watch Kelly Clarkson? In a promo for her You Tube channel, Kelly did a cover of One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful" and it is fun.  Of course, she has tremendous vocals.  Give it a listen!



• Shoutout to the wonderful Larrie fandom, who can command a presence on social media, despite Harry and Louis not being seen together in public on the X Factor, December 14, 2015.  Now, that's staying strong and enduring.  Don't worry, the time will come.  The day will come.  These two men would not be sending the incredible number of signals & shout-outs to each other if they intended to remain underground.

And this is one of the many ways this fandom remains relevant and strong.  Narnia salutes:

Of course, when one of the five guys releases a new single, ain't nothing stopping that social media train of support from their fans. They will flood Twitter in a wonderful show of love and promotion, hash tagging and tweeting at radio stations, asking them to play the song.  It's truly an impressive demonstration, one that they have perfected by this time.  Artists cannot ask for a more supportive fandom; their own teams can't cover that kind of ground with word of mouth.  And it's been a busy several weeks because each member has released a new song.  This was a musical onslaught!

• And just kind of a weird-funny.  Remember that episode of Seinfeld when George Costanza began dating a woman named "Janet"? Elaine noticed right away that George's new companion reminded her of Jerry.  Then, Kramer saw the same resemblance.  Cue "hilarity ensues".



Narnia posted this picture of hired beard, Jeanne Cadieu in our last post.  Did anyone else notice how in this picture, she looks like Tom Holland?  

























Or just we at Narnia??  I don't know, I doubt it...



• And how about that Adam Levine?  I know what I said about not posting about Shevine (Adam Levine/Blake Shelton) any further because they were a mess, but there are some strong, strong narratives going on right now with one of the halves and so this author just can't pass this one up.  First of all, let's take a look at Adam Levine's new do.
Here he was allegedly on Sep 24 in Los Angeles, according to Just Jared.  And looks like a pap just happened to be swinging through the neighborhood.

(Isn't it interesting that both Levine and Blake have been chosen for this title of Sexiest Man Alive? What are the odds?)  The drastic new cornrow hairstyle was met with some gasps, for sure. In a New York Post article entitled "Adam Levine's New Cornrow Mohawk Sparks Outrage on Twitter", excerpts of tweets and reactions to the new 'do' are mostly uncomplimentary.  Speculations widely varied ranging from a cry of desperation to "cultural appropriation" to "mid-life crisis".  Someone else wondered if everything was "okay at home".  Hmmmm....

Coming on the heels of Adam's decision to leave the show The Voice, one which he had been a part of since its inception sixteen seasons (eight years),  things were looking a bit precarious.  But now, after his recent appearance on Ellen Degeneres' television show, Levine seems to be telling everyone to calm down.  His big reveal?  

"I really do miss it," he told DeGeneres. "I love the people that I met and worked with, and you all obviously know how i feel about [fellow coach] Blake [Shelton]. … I do miss it but I don't miss how much I had to work. I was constantly working for so many years — very lucky, very fortunate, very bless and all that — but  to just be able to stop in this moment to spent time with my new young family and just have the greatest time ever. Now I'm a stay-at-home dad. I just stay at home and do very little." - Billboard, Oct 7 2019

 What was that?  A stay-at-home dad?  He wants to quit working so he can stay home with his two daughters.  Who did he miss? Blake.  Blake Shelton, who will remain working.  And Levine, who wants to take a break.  Maroon 5 will perform three concerts before the end of the year, one in Hollywood, FL on Oct 25 and two at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on Dec 30/31.  Earlier in the year, they had toured Australia, Asia and parts of Europe, so perhaps 2020 may be a quiet one?  Remains to be seen.

 Nonetheless, "taking time off".  "Disappearing for lengths of time".  "Spending more time with family".   Have several of our OTP halves been watching too much Jake&AustinTV ?  LOL!

 • Speaking of an OTP watching too much Jake&AustinTV, we've been watching one of the more fascinating, ongoing OTP storylines with Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki.  One recent spike in the drink took place this past week with the confirmation that Jared will be starring in a CW reboot of Walker, Texas Ranger.  Despite multiple, past messages of intentions to "disappear" and "take a break", Jared has done the exact opposite by already committing to another television series.  

 Well played, Mr. Padalecki.  Certainly intriguing, isn't it?  Narnia is definitely keeping an eye on those two.  With a family situation much like Jake and Austin's, the look-over-there's and not-over-here's will no doubt continue as Supernatural aims towards the finish line. 



 • And finally, get ready because by now the Jakers has begun his busy day's schedule, the baptism day of an official United States fan convention, at Ace Comic Con in Rosemont, IL.  No doubt, Jake will have a terrific time meeting so many fans and also at the evening's panel with Tom Holland, an event no doubt tailor made for his naturally exuberant and ready-to-entertain nature. 


 Chances are high "Gyllenholland" will be on full display, especially since there were never any revelations that Mr. Holland made the time and effort to see "best bud" Jake in his Broadway play, Sea Wall/A Life ??  And also importantly, the social media team will need a replenishment of content (aka gif material) to stuff Jake's timelines, when art show opportunities are unavailable.  *wink*  But, we'll see because you know how these guys & Team Mara operate - super shady.   Here's Jake's schedule today:

Hmmm...do you reckon Jake is going to don the Mysterio costume for several of those photo ops?  That would be pretty cool.





You never know what these photo ops will bring on.  Surely anything but stunting, right?  Because what PR team would do that???  Pfft!  Already from today, some lucky fans!!

And one can see that Holland had to buzz-cut his hair for his currently filming role in a movie called Cherry.  This idea was kind of cute:

The Summer of Jake Gyllenhaal and his "BFF" Austin Nichols - Huzzah!



Don't look now, but one of our fave Fab Duos, Austin Nichols and his cashmere-lovin' SO of 16 years, Jake Gyllenhaal, are putting themselves in the public position of both being across the pond AT THE SAME TIME.


Oh.  OOps!! shhhhh, we'll say it quietly.

Now, it remains to be seen whether or not the mere possibility of a crossing of the streams will continue to be allowed to exist, but for now, let's update everyone's Outlook calendar.  What's going on?

Well, Jake has been wandering around the UK and allegedly Greece since the spring, believe it or not.  Let's see. Where was he last photoshopped, I mean seen?  At a pub!  This was supposedly on Sunday, Aug 26.

And before that?  Well, this is supposed to be Jake (of course, from behind) walking in Greece with his girlfriend! How do we know this is his girlfriend? Because one of the planted comments tells us so!  Grab some binoculars and take a look.


 

I dunno......has anyone seen his dopelganger, Calgon, I mean Caglar lately?  Anyway, another space shuttle video for all to try to decipher.  And who shot that video?  What uncanny timing, huh?

 And let's not forget about this great Colorforms™ picture, which is supposed to be Jake swimming in the sea with someone and a human shark photobombing them, I think.  Here is Colorforms Jakers:

 Um, I think someone got a little carried away with the cropping and sliced Jake's profile a bit too close.  ;D  Of course, once again, we're not sure who it is that is supposed to have taken this photo, perhaps a passing fisherman?  Merman?  

Jake's also been taking in some theater when in London, spotted dining out and taking pictures with fellow WME/Endeavor client Burt Bacharach.  And although we're not sure when he posed for the shoot, the interview is for GQ France, the photographer named Shayne Laverdiere. [The photographer splits time between Montreal, Toronto and Paris.]  

Oh, filming, you say?  No, we don't have any Spidey set photos, sorry!  But plenty of other recreational and relaxation activities.

And what about Austin?  Well, he's been hammock swingin', 


visiting barber shops, drinking wine allegedly at a birthday party of an enabling Walking Dead former co-star:

 working out in a front yard,

working out with balcony railings,


 

standing under waterfalls in Hawaii, 

 

writing love poetry to former co-star Andrew Lincoln, pretending to attend an Oceana event (in front of yet another railing)


 
 
playing Olympian,


being part of a "perfect couple":

Well, we reckon it's pretty obvious to see why Austin had to turn down that co-lead part in the upcoming CW series, In the Dark, isn't it? He's just much too "busy". Although it does look like he is making ample use of that SAG card off screen. I wonder how residual payments are calculated for bearding projects? Something to ponder, indeed.

Then there was this little heads up a couple of days ago. Austin's flying! Of course we doubt whether he is really taking his long legs onto Southwest Airlines, but perhaps he simply felt like "stopping by" because he was running ahead of schedule and just wanted to take a pic to capture the moment? What a guy!


 

And Austin's throwing a few things into his carry-on and taking a hop, skip & a jump over to where?  To the Salento Film Festival, held in Tricase, Italy, where he will be squiring his beard Hassle "Hassie" Harrison around.

The Iron Orchard showing in Italy is sure coming in handy, isn't it? As the screenshot shows, Austin is going to be Q & A'ing with the beard on Saturday, Sept. 1.

And the hubs?  Well, might Jake just come out of paparazzi hiding in time for the Venice Film Festival, where his film The Sisters Brothers will show on September 2?

The only problem is that one of those other Jake blogs is telling everyone to cool their jets, because that ubiquitous anonymous commenter has inside information they generously "dropped by" to share with everyone:

"I read that neither Jake or Joaquin will attend Venice due to work Schedule, but I don't know if the info is right"

And of course, when you look at the official poster released yesterday Aug 30, well, Jake's nowhere to be seen:

 

With this in mind, it's likely Jake is not on screen that much, which of course would offer an explanation for not showing up at Venice either.  Apparently, Jake has developed a phobia about film festivals, barring Toronto, hasn't he?  

NONEtheless, we hope Jake and Austin enjoyed their "we" time in Hawaii, perhaps taking their treehouse and hot tub proclivities to the "isolated" Aloha side of Hana, Maui.  Their very own version of hanging loose. Mahalo, baby!

Meanwhile, the rest of us get to enjoy the "scenery" of gymnast rings, balcony leaning, and human shark photobombing.  LOL!!

As we wrap up, on a more analytical, serious note amidst some of the chortling and laser pointing, notice the trend with both Jake and Austin.  For Austin, there have been Walker Stalker convention participations in London, One Tree Hill in France, supposed travels to Portugal and Hawaii.  For Jake?  What is alleged to be a long filming stint where and during what season (the summer)?  London.  Placement in Greece.  In 2017, The Sisters Brothers was supposed to film where and when?  Almaria, Spain and when?  The summer.  In Spain, even though the story actually is to take place in Oregon and San Francisco, but instead the production goes all the way to Spain?

And yet, we have more alleged "out and about" photos of Jake from overseas than we ever see anymore when he's supposed to be in the States. Notice the beards his team has paired him with.  In 2016, it was Katja Tausig. Where is she from?  London.  His bearding photo op with Katja came on the heels of filming Life with Ryan Reynolds and when was this?  During the summer. In London.

Also seen with a British born gal Anna Libon in Chelsea, London in 2015.  During what month?  June.  Bearded heavily with Greta Caruso where?  In Italy at the very end of May 2015 and St. Bart's during New Year's 2017. While she is American, these were two extended "vacations" and they weren't on American soil.  

The latest beard?  "Jeanne Cadieu" from Montreal, Quebec.  If it's not London, Italy or France for Jake and Austin, there's a Montreal, Vancouver or Toronto connection.  Where is he alleged photo'd with her? Overseas.  


And how about Big Sis, Maggie?  Whom we haven't seen all summer either?  Where's she been hiding?  Well, here's where WME/Endeavor is working at placing her ('working at' is used in the most lenient of terms!)


 

Oh look...also during the summer.  Of 2017.


 

2016?  Vermont.  When?  The summer.

  

Oh, and look, even in 2015!


 

Even though we have no pictures, of course because well, there are not paps in Vermont, are there?  How fortunate for Big Sis and the alleged, ne'er-seen-anymore Peter Sarsgaard!  ;-)  Guess that was great thinking on "their" part, wasn't it? This summer, Mgmnt came up with a legitimate reason for them to actually be in Vermont:

A rare, public appearance today for the "couple".

 In this August 19, 2018, Just Jared post, notice what is said:

The 40-year-old The Deuce actress was spotted picking up some pastries on the way back to her hotel on Sunday (August 19) in New York City. - "back to her hotel"

Odd.  Not back to the brownstone?

Neither sibling is even selling "living" in New York City anymore.  It's not difficult to arrive at the conclusion that Jake, Austin, their kids, Maggie and her daughters and likely the matriarch, Naomi Foner, are rarely in the United States anymore, let alone New York City.  They're spending the majority of their lives now beyond the borders.  Notice how pap agencies are rarely used anymore with Jake.  He's seen in Instagram pictures. Hinky looking "twit" pictures.   

Secrets to hide like a communal lifestyle, a marriage between Jake and Austin, and real life fatherhood for two men who are supposed to be swinging bachelors.  Aaaah yes.

Saturday Musings - A Trade to BrewerTown, "Wedding" Bell Echos and a Kradam Pining?

Well, this author had a big ol' honkin' post drafted on the stunt and "melodrama" leading up to this year's San Diego Comic Con in the J2 fandom, but we'll table it for awhile.  Instead, we've got a farmers market basket full of "produce" we want to drop on the table.  Let's get started.

 •An update on one of Narnia's OTP's.
As we have mentioned in our post on Moose and Hos with a follow-up duo of posts on the free agency period which took Eric to the San Diego Padres, yet we did not have full closure on Mike Moustakas. He signed with his old team, the Kansas City Royals, in a deal which kept him in a familiar clubhouse, but never really felt like a permanent fix.  Sure enough, overnight, Moose was traded by the Royals to the Milwaukee Brewers, where he will join former teammate, Lorenzo Cain.  The Brewers are still very much in the playoff race, only 1 1/2 games out of first place behind the Cubs.   Narnia wishes Mike all of the best in his tenure with the Brewers and this is best because now he will be able to see Hos whenever the Padres play the Brewers, as both teams are in the National League.


 Narnia would like to share a picture that Eric posted on his Instagram recently.  Dated May 26 of this year, during a season where Hos has mostly struggled on the field, the picture is a happy one. He's having an uncharacteristic year thus far and since he did sign a large contract, it opens him up to verbal criticism on social media.  But here he is with Moose's family.  That is Mike's father on the far left and two of his sisters, along with the husband of one of the sisters and their daughter.

We know that Hos will turn it around and also wish Moose all the best with the Brewers! Narnia will continue to check in with our MLB fave twosome since we believe this is a story which hasn't ended despite free agency, trades and "super" agents.

And Jared and Jensen? We'll make this one short and brief because that's all that is necessary.  While some fans believe the Padalecki beard's Instagrams are about promoting herself and her position as Jared's "wife", one really needs to question why "Mommy and Mom" are such a prevalent, relentless theme.

We've got some weaknesses in this crafted video.

• We have Genevieve entering a bedroom and the video breaks. Then we have a glimpse of blue sleeve, but otherwise Tom Padalecki acting as though waking up is the main gist of the whole sequence.
• We have a small pair of hands writing "Mo -", a word which is then cut off. We don't know whose hands those are, do we? Were they even Tom's hands?

• For quick observers, one might not even notice that the fourth Hollywood Square isn't even a video.  It's a still. Someone let me know if you have the actual video of that last "HW" square. ;-)

I saw these two tweets on my timeline last night and they scrolled almost back to back and found them (together) to be kind of, well, worthy of a definite second glance.  As some may know, Kristopher Allen is currently touring with the American Idol finalists.  And looks like on Thursday night, he was in San Diego.  To make matters even more torturous, here he is singing his unique and popular cover of "Falling Slowly".


  

The next evening, in a very deja vu Kradam kind of way, Adam Lambert tweeted this:



"Such a PRETTY song".

About a single called "I Think My Husband Lives in San Diego" and one that has been around since.......February. In other words, it's not newly released and being highlighted as such.

I'M JUST SAYIN'.


And yes, Adam, it is a beautiful song.

You know, M&M happened to mention the above photo op in a comment on the previous post:

So in another case of funny-weird, a blurb about Jake ('out and about' in ol' Londontown again) appeared on Twitter yesterday, referring to this sighting:


 

Here's the scoop:

Actor Jake Gyllenhaal made a low-key visit to Lyle's, the restaurant from James Lowe and John Ogier found in Shoreditch's Tea Building this week.  The star of Donnie Darko and Brokeback Mountain was there on Wednesday evening. - Aug 27, 2018.  



Not sure if I can picture Jakers in this "agile-eating environment" type dining setting, can you?  Those who have followed Jake these last oh, say 6 years, can you picture him in one of these middle tables?


I don't know...awfully light.  Awfully open.  Tables awfully close together.  And no brick walls? lol.

Just an interesting aside:  was the Shoes' video, Time to Dance, in which Jake "starred", supposed to be taking place in Shoreditch?  


 

We'll see if Mgmnt tries to resurrect Ms. Tausig in Jake's "canoodling" life.  ;-)

Meanwhile, the hubs Austin was busy taking pen to pad and conjuring up a Just Jared robot for his twitter search, addressing Andrew Lincoln, a Walking Dead actor whom we did know that Austin man crushed on quite obviously and who could ever forget Andrew noticing how devilishly handsome  he was in turn?

"He is a six foot hunk.  He's unbearably good looking.  And he's ridiculously fit."

Austin wrote a long-a** letter about his man-crush:


 

In the midst of Austin's worshipping, Narnia did notice this line:

"Andy became the example that I have since tried to model myself after. As a man. As an actor. As a friend. And hopefully, someday soon, as a husband and father."

While these two life changes of Austin becoming a husband and father would be legally and petri-dish-wise impossible because they've already made their way into his personal history, we do think it merits a take-notice.  Is Austin planting a seed with that sentence?  One of those "oh, by the way guess what happened already"  Just Jared headline splashes?   

"I do, We did" kind of announcement? Eventually, even the George Clooney's of Hollywood are showing they feel the need to put the Hetero and Happily Ever After image on their instagrams. And since Jake doesn't show any signs of wanting to take that road, Austin has shown he is willing to take the extra mile of pretense.  We'll see.

And speaking of "I do, we did", guess who got 'married'?

This will be an interesting story to watch.  All Narnia will say at this point is, at least the "wedding" didn't take place in a barn or gymnasium. ;-)
