Tums, please, after reading all of that! RME. Seriously though, look at all of those - how the dogs are used as a sign of "family formation", "domesticity, aka settling down", "co-habitating".

Are these dogs a close second substitute if the bearding/merkin'ing couple do not want to take the marriage/baby route? I would not be surprised if that is one of the reasons. Are the dogs fodder for the social media accounts? Absolutely. After all, you can only stick your tongue out or point at each other so many times.

Using dogs/puppies as deards does not seem to be a practice that will go away anytime soon. It makes sense that cats are not used to "bind" a couple together, right? Because no one walks their cat. You can't see the cat, but you can see the dog. Walk the dog.

Maybe Canary Local 0424 will ask for equal opportunity, huh? lol

The whole Leo Gyllenhaal storyline has only continued to grow legs and conflicting scenarios. One minute, they're saying Leo is a service dog. The next minute, Leo is hanging out with Jake on set. Then he's hanging out with some trainer guy and now Leo has his own baby photo album folder on IHJ!

Yet Jake will not do a photo op with Leo and hasn't ever since the disastrous LA photo op in 2014? I think it was? Was it really 2 years ago?; Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 9:41:00 PM CDT

Evidently, Marcus Mumford wasn't available to distract from Austin's birthday so Jake had to settle for an al fresco "date" with his deard. Even to the casual eye, Leo looked like he wanted to be as far away from Jake as possible. Like maybe on a different continent. In fact, there is nothing domestic or homey about this awkward pairing. More like excruciating discomfort and borderline negligence.

Methodical Muser said...: There are several eyebrow raising aspects to this seemingly revealing article about modern day practices of agents, publicists, managers, and record labels. Sure, the writer discusses how many celebrities today prefer to live in a glass closet. But, when it goes on to mention specific "heterosexual" couple after "heterosexual" couple, each of who have have obvious gay rumors attached to them, apparently they are all...wait for it...PROmancing [celebrity pairings that are less about love and more about profile]. The old two celebs are better than one in terms of earning power and brand recognition.

Of course, the article doesn't even touch upon how "straight" celebrities like Kristin Stewart, Henry Cavill, Taylor Swift, and Kanye West,(do you see a trend here) might be hiding something more than just their need for a higher profile. In other words, simply ignore that all these same individuals have had tons of rumors about their own orientations throughout the years because even though this article is about the closet, these specific present day fauxmances can't be happening because the participants may be gay!

We are reminded, once again, that modern day fake couplings are only PROmances. Yet, somehow, the writer has no problem openly outing stars of yesteryear like Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy's power couple relationship as being a sham to conceal their own same sex involvements throughout their careers:

...one of the Golden Age of Hollywood's prominent power couples, never married and conducted same-sex affairs throughout the whole of their long-term relationship. The public never had a clue.

Another ridiculous belief that is posited here has me still laughing at the utter absurdity: The trend toward PR relationships seems to have tailed off in a social-media age, which relies more on transparency and honesty than deception and manipulation.

Huh? Really? Social media has become the new, sometimes exclusive tool, PR uses to deceive, recreate reality and timelines, manipulate images, bully fandoms, and market their clients as just hard-working, straight individuals who basically frolic with their pets, eat ice cream, stick their tongues out incessantly, and literally flip their middle fingers at their viewers. And, when inconsistencies are pointed out, photoshopping discovered, or factual errors found, eliminating the evidence by scrubbing the Internet is as easy as the push of a finger. That and spamming/harassing commenters by spewing allegations that those who see through the smoke and mirrors are delusional hate mongers or looney conspiracy theorists who are imposing sexualities are others. Sell it some where else, Grace Medford.

Wow, that's an interesting way to spin it.

OR....future talk is also eliminated by getting rid of or silencing or lobbying the source itself, i.e. Jonathan Jaxson, Ted Casablanca, Perez Hilton, Pink Is the New Blog, and I'm pretty sure @decodingJ2andco. Don't tell me she wasn't contacted by someone and told to stop what she was doing.

And it confounds me how totally little response I received from my two posts. I had two people respond to my query. You mean, absolutely no one else has noticed the silencing of that blog? Come on!! I wasn't born yesterday. Is it something folks just don't want to talk about? Don't people care about what happened? Or are they afraid?

LOL! This was probably my favorite bit of storytelling in that entire VICE article. I have to give a shout out to the sliight of hand author who composed that tall tale sentence. More relaxed about their "romance". It's actually called a contract extension!!! Just in time for The Twilight Saga - Part 2 franchise finale. How very fortuitous.

There had already been ample rumors about Stewart's true preferences so what better way to ramp up the hetero cred. before "reuniting" with Pattinson. Just manufacture a high profile scandal and have US Stinkley break the news with exclusive photos. The Daily Fail was still pushing that nonsense for website cicks two years later. So much for social media and the Internet making publicists and managers be more transparent and honest with the public. A public they view, by the way, with the most cynical and disdainful antipathy.

To watch a family member go through cancer hits at you so hard and he is just so inspiring. My dad too, was so incredibly inspiring and brave.
