On September 20, 2017, Jake's verified Facebook account posted an interview conducted by Facebook's Chief Operating Officer, Sheryl Sandberg. Jake's movie Stronger was about to be released and so Ms. Sandberg was on hand to help promote Jake and his movie. Lo and behold, it was in the last minute of the interview, that Jake let everyone know of something in life that was on his "bucket" list. Let's offer a transcription first.
"All right, last question I always ask everyone this, in the spirit of Lean In - one more thing you would do if you weren't afraid?" - Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg
"I....uh..." Jake
"Next thing." - Sheryl Sandberg
"Fall in love." - Jake
"Such a nice answer." - Sheryl Sandberg
* modest, humble chuckle * - Jake
Here's a live look at Austin and the kids as they discover this video:
Jake? What do you have to say in response? And don't tell us or the audience, please address your family.
"Well....."
Reallllly now?
"Yup."
lol. While it's fun to put gifs into people's mouths, let's not maintain the lighthearted tone for the duration of the post. Here's the clip and you can start it at 14:15 and watch Jake look the woman in the eye and answer that he's been too scared to fall in love, an insinuation that falling in love is something he's juuust not been able to place on his "Accomplished" list yet.
Before we let Jakers scamper off all pleased with himself, there's a little matter of memory lapse to go over.
Mr. G seems to have forgotten that he told Howard Stern a totally different story back in July of 2015.
Again - can we get a transcriber?
"How many times have you really been in love - really in love?" - Howard Stern
"Three times" - Jake. Then, correcting himself - "Twice"
From People.com:
He
didn’t name names – the actor has dated a number of stars, including Kirsten
Dunst, Reese Witherspoon, Taylor Swift and Alyssa Miller – but placed the blame
on himself for relationships failing even when he was in love.
“It
was me, man,” he said. “I think I probably just got scared.”
Gyllenhaal added that he's not in love at the moment, and he admitted he's a little sad about that. "I love love, man," he said. "Are you kidding me?"

Hmm, what to believe, what to believe...
Well, all we at Narnia can say is Austin might want to make a Walgreens run and pick up a bottle of Mr. Bubble; then, run some hot water in a claw foot tub, wrap those big ol' arms around his Mr. Forgetful, and jump start that stalled memory. ;-)
