This post is almost as much for nostalgic purposes as it is for simply sharing. Have you ever seen any of these?
This is so wistful and love the song by Olivia Newton-John. Unfortunately, the poster (at the time of publishing) thinks they've broken up. Now that is what's tragic.

And one more. This video is by Giusi Dottini, who has posted several videos of Jake and Austin. This particular one has some tiny, dark, fuzzy, Hi-Fi stereo clips from the making of The Day After Tomorrow incorporated into still shots. Boy, at 00:08, look how close Jake is talking into Austin's curls. This one is a real retro gem!
And so there you have it. Thought it would be fun to share these before the films disintegrate from exposure to daylight. We are very thankful to all the folks who make fan videos for all to enjoy. I know I wish I knew how to make them. But there is a plethura available of 1D and J2 videos - too many to count.

When a birthday-with-friends photo can turn out so well...
But a wedding-meal-with-friends photo not...
We at Narnia seem to be the only ones questioning the wedding meal photo, and that's okay. At first glance, there doesn't seem to be anything to question, albeit the "sepia" filter which we assume is to add an artsy effect.
But it really shouldn't take long to realize that Jared's face and hair are extremely blurred and layered. And the waiter staff person (we assume) in the far background is blurred as well, but is that because he's moving? Or because he's a bearded civilian and therefore won't be able to be positively identified?
And if he's blurred because he's moving, that at least would make sense, wouldn't it? Should Jared be moving that much as he looks straight ahead, engrossed in conversation? And if he is indeed talking to the blond woman across from him, why does it appear as though her head is facing the picture taker, yet her hands are gesturing towards Jared?
Of course, there are the whole "where are the children" and the 'groom just supposedly met his bride several months ago' questions. Could Jared really have been the one holding down the fort with the ark? That's saying if there really was a wedding at all. But time is of the essence when it's this late at night and work is to be had tomorrow. The burning question remains why in this age of cellphones and their top-notch cameras, some of these closeted OTP's continue to be the victims of terrible picture taking at the worst of times? And there seems to be the forgetfulness of previewing, seeing that a photo is inferior and the option of a re-take. via GIPHY
And it appears that the witching hour has now come, time for the patch and repair. Time for some hocus pocus, eh boys?

As in, "sounds like"..... "LEILA?" Like in Leila who still has no last name even though she is in the high profile "daughter" of Jake Gyllenhaal and Liya Kebede. How very organic.
Could it be that a certain contracted gardener might just have been instructed to drop a few more seeds in a certain garden row? After all, that Calvin Klein ETERNITY campaign is not just about boosting sales. It's about Jake Gyllenhaal "finally" getting to be seen as a Dad at long last. Yep. Some identifiable sprouts just may have started to emerge among the shadowy weeds today. Remember, there's a lot of manure left to promote the growth of more rumors in the future, don't you think?

Last, but certainly not least, our third featured, squashed and Gumby'd OTP half? Mr. Jared Padalecki. With
Austin, it was about alleged twitter DM's to underage girls and public
demeaning by his most recent beard, Chloe Bennet. With Louis, it was
about the creation of a baby, denouncing of Larry and a very public
airport exhibition. With Jared? It's been about "unstable behavior"
associated with mental illness and a repressed anger/frustration due to
the hapless bearding contract he is in. The situation has seen Jared
transition from a relaxed, confident intellect to a fragile man in need
of round-the-clock care-taking.
Just some samplings of the rants which have been posted on Jared's twitter and/or Facebook:

Were these really from Jared or from someone with access to his twitter? These below are quite homophobic; somehow I doubt they are from Jared, but they are designed to sound homophobic and Mgmnt's thinking is "How could he be gay and say something like that?"

there are those "events/incidents" which are surrounded with question
marks, missing socks, leftover Lego pieces and whatnot. Take several of the JibCon Supernatural conventions for instance. In particular, the Jus in Bello (JibCon) of 2014. Chaos ensued on that Saturday the 24th and Jared's public persona to the fans has never been the same since.
And this was a clue where Jared was looking just not quite himself:

not been clear to me when the infamous "hotel lobby Misha Collins
Swipe" took place in Saturday's schedule, but it happened just prior to
the "shoulder injury" and Jared's "cancellation" from the remainder of
that day's convention activities. In the following video, Jared is
clearly not joking around when he chases Collins, who is indeed cowering
under Jared's hold:
I'm sorry, but look at the expression on Jared's face as he spots Collins and then takes a swipe at him. That is not the face of someone "playfully horse playing" around.

say Jared was a bit upset about something, anyone else? Likely because
he knew what was going to transpire that day? That he was going to have
to hit the deck (literally), disappear for the day, and thereby clear

The "shoulder injury" incident:
"Jared’s panel on Sunday 25th May in Rome at JIBCon 2014. He
had missed his Saturday panel, after tripping and bruising his shoulder."
Despite
Jared returning the next day to participate in convention activities
with a makeshift sling, he went on later to have surgery, about a month later:
In the opening minutes of the video directly below, Jared says (after a slight hesitation) that he had a "broken arm and torn
rotator cuff" at a Comic Con held July 24-27. He says he had surgery
"about a month ago", which places surgery around June 27. The injury
occurred May 24, which translates to Jared walking around with a broken
arm and serious rotator cuff injury for amonth before
surgery was performed. What is surprising about this besides the fact
that the two injuries combined should be pretty painful, is that surgery would
be delayed during what is already a limited summer hiatus. Why would you wait a month
and thus delay his return to filming unnecessarily? And then there's
that whole X-ray/MRI thing, two tests which are usually quick and
accurate to diagnose a break and when exactly were they taken? Too many unanswered questions.
Then came
2015 and the second year in a row that Jared's appearance at a Jus in
Bello convention was jeopardized, and in fact proved to be non-existent.

Interestingly enough, just prior to this JIB2015 absence, Variety had published a story, " 'Supernatural star Jared Padalecki Talks Depression and Why You Should Always Keep Fighting " - source
A doctor came to set and talked to me for about 30 minutes or 45 minutes
and said: “Jared, I think you’re clinically depressed. I think I should
write you a note and we can shut down production for five days and then
we can take it from there.” - Jared P.
The Always Keep Fighting campaign was started in March 2015, inspired by several factors according to Jared: losing set stand-in Matt Riley to suicide, the urging of colleague Stephen Amell, who had a campaign established in the fight against cancer, and his own personal experience with depression.
There
isn't enough space to go into deeper detail really about either JIB Con 2014
or JIB Con 2015. They both could have a post by themselves. There
isn't a Supernatural/J2 fan who is not familiar with either dramatic
ordeal. There were many unanswered questions with both incidents resulting in Jared's major absence in one of the conventions and complete absence in the other. When a third absence would have tipped the cart of suspicious activity, the beard Genevieve was brought in and she provided more than sufficient disruption. Ever since these times, Jared has been depicted as fragile, in need of protection/looking after, and perpetually on the verge of another breakdown.
It's hard to imagine this "old" Jared from the past several years:

In summary....
This has been a bit of a read for a crisp Fall day (for some, it may take a week - LOL!), but a comparative narrative was necessary to illustrate that the emasculation of one-half of an OTP is actually a common practice in the entertainment industry. In other words, it is not an isolated phenomenon or aberrational curiosity. All three of these guys have been vilified and marginalized to sap their power and influence within their respective fandoms.
The technique succeeds on many levels. Fans are pitted against one another as sides are taken; which strengthens the hand of management teams in terms of manipulation and emotional abuse. The tool also elevates one of the pair over the other which undermines the notion that the perceived couple are compatible or supportive of one another. In other words, how could these two even be together? Or, stay together for that matter. Separation is the key. One is the golden boy, the chosen one, and the other is the bad boy, the troublemaker, or in Louis' case, the chav. What's important to remember is that the latter is the one management fears the most. The one with the voice which must be silenced. And, whose influence needs to be diminished. In reality, PR would not be so aggressive or purposeful if the couple were still not together, fighting the system that insists that their love dare not speak its name.
