November 18, 2005 was the first time Jake and Austin were "officially" seen together - it was at the Casanova movie premiere in Los Angeles at the AFI film festival.

From that date forward, the camera lens shyness wore off and the two were photographed together regularly through early 2007.  After that time, Austin was rarely seen with Jake since Reese Witherspoon was in town.  November 2012 brought a photo op together in New York City, along with a female chaperone to keep their image on the straight and narrow.

Before you knew it, these kinds of clueless blog comments became the norm for the next several years:

     Maggie is filming in NYC...

And then one Saturday, March 12, 2016, this happened at a place called Bangers in Austin TX at the SXSW Film Festival.

And with one single picture, the previous four year drought dissipated into scattered dust and 2005 blurred into one flowing river clear into 2016.  

With one single picture, Chicago Bulls ballcaps worn in LA, NY Yankee ballcaps worn in Europe, and all the smoke and mirror jobs for the past 48 months took on showers of bottle rockets, telling all who had followed their story, that yes, believe your eyes, they were still hangin' in there, still together after all these years.
