30 Days and 16 Years: A Pin Up History of Jake Gyllenhaal and Austin Nichols - Day 15

Aah, the difference a few years make.  On Day 5, we saw a gym photo op with proactive assertion, ie Jake and Austin Hit the Gym With Sophia B.  This photo op (dated November 9, 2012 in New York City) involving Jake and Austin was noticeably different and a reflection of the changes happening in Jake's public image.  Nonetheless, it was a rare scheduled sighting and it has been their last professional photo op appearance together to date.

The headline emphasis this time was on Jake - "Holding Hands With Mystery Girl" and Austin was cropped out of many of the pictures, in fact he wasn't even mentioned in the Just Jared write-up.

But the outing was important to both Jake and Austin since they posed for the camera to begin with.  :-)

Very, very strange that Hos sat out two straight games for the Padres. He rarely missed games when he was with the Royals. He was very healthy and fortunate, and maybe once in awhile, Ned would rest him at the end of the season, but he just didn't miss games. He was extremely durable..

I don't know if he was maybe pressing a bit after that big mis-play in Houston? But he had a hitting streak going, I believe, although had hit into a few ground ball double plays. I don't get it. It's very strange.

The reason given yesterday for Hos missing his second game was “lower back tightness”. So why didn’t they say that for the first game absence? And then yesterday he says he’ll be ready to go for the Dodgers. *side eye*

Can we do a whole post on this ridiculously bitter statement from Mr. Jake that appeared on Twitter today?

One of the reasons why Gyllenhaal feels it is necessary is because it helps in the creation and understanding of a character. Gyllenhaal explains, “It seems to me that anybody feels they can be an actor nowadays… People say: ‘How hard can it be?’ But the truth is, the creation of a character, the understanding of human behavior, is a craft and to be learned and worked and experimented with and discovered. My favorite actors are like artists, and when you see their career, you see someone who is able to actually physically draw a perfect figure and then deconstruct it, or not, based on a foundation of skill or practice. Whereas I noticed that some people just throw some paint up on the wall and call it art.”

Ssssssssss, can you feel that burn? Who’s he talking about? Peers who were nominated this past award season when he didn’t? How obvious is this bitterness? Wow. That whole statement comes across as snobby and jealous. Not a good look, Jake. Not at all.

Forgot to provide the source which is an interview called, “Is Jake Gyllenhaal an Art House Actor or a Blockbuster Star”. I’ll have to get the URL later today. My link didn’t work and so I have run out of time to figure out what’s wrong with the URL.

It’s fortunate my lunch hour is about up as I could go on a bit about that whole paragraph. But I think Jake is sounding like his pants have gotten way too tiny on him.
